I know that its been a long time since there has been any news on Maggie, but have just seen a brown shar pei that has been found in Scotland.  They said it could be a dog that was stolen and then dumped.  I know its a long shot, but you never know.  The link is: http://www.scottishspca.org/news/225_mystery-of-pedigree-dog-abandonmentLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Spoken to owner on the telephone. Maggie was last sighted on a field not far from where she went missing, Scotswood on 24th Feb. She was being walked by a relative and got spooked by another dog when she went missing. I have asked owner to register so she can give us up dates on what has been done. I have just printed a poster to hand in to the boarding kennels where I used to work (Home from Home at Heddon on the Wall) as we have a lot of customers from the Westerhope area. Make sure you contact all the local vets, and go into the dog and cat shelters to check, dont just take their word for it that she isnt there. Good luck Juju Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have sent details to the dog paper, plus Kay F posted this and asked it to be copied to this post Dogs Lost site won't let me log in. I will get out to have a look for her tonight, I am in NE5. Won't be around to assist tomorrow though. If there have been any firm/regular sitings, I have access to a safe dog trap, which could be loaned if required? We have padlocks to lock the trap somewhere as it's an expensive piece of equipment (some people make a donation to our search & rescue - who funded buying the traps) I have not seen any posters for her? Could "someone" put this info on Dogslost site for me please? I can pass on the telephone number (privately) if the traps is needed. Kay Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poor little Maggie - hope she's home soon. Have asked SPCGB & SPCGB-rescue to add her details to their websites and I've let the UK-Pei list know too. Fingers crossed she stays safe.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as admin receive a photo posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Check Police stations and Dog Warden. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Maggie. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
