Thanks M Followed the lead and the dog concerned was picked up by his owner late at night. Happy for the dog to be reunited...... but another false alarm for us .. Please keep your eyes open when on your travels and please forward any info onto me no matter how small, as something small could lead to somethig bigger and eventually finding Paddy. Thanks again Take careLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Matt tried to ring you but got answer phone..No luck at all. followed the lead to kingsly and spoke to the painter about everything but Paddy as i didnt want to scare him off. Found out that the joiner working on the same house also had a vauxhall combie van also n reg. found the painters house (just in case) the only dog he has is a rottie cross. Had to wait for ages to get details of the joiner who has since moved onto another job. Well got the info i needed today but... yes a cairn terrier was seen in his van on the Friday morning by the binman but Sadly even though it is identical to Pad it is not him. It is the son of another Cairn he also owns. So once again back to square one really gutted Matt as i genuinely has a good feeling about this lead.. Thank for asking and if i get anymore news i will be in touch. Hope fading fast though now as Pad has been gone for almost 3 months Deb x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Just noticed dog found on here number 1740 - westie? found in the central area postcode NR12 ? bit of a long shot but Paddy has been called a westie along with numerous other breeds even a cross breed or scruffy terrier by people who dont really know what a cairn is. Anyone who has any info on this dog could they please post on here or call me on 07968714288. Thanks Debbie Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Nik - Doglost PR Advisor @ 22:46 - 10/4/2007 - Debbie1965, it's the length of the link that's the problem (we've all done it..) !! You have to put spaces in. I've reposted your link to the article and removed your other posts so that we can get the page back to normal. http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=158315& command=displayContent&sourceNode=231463&home=yes&more_node Id1=158324&contentPK=17060444 Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Debbie1965 @ 22:05 - 8/4/2007 Thanks Matt, Really pleased with article. Just sorry they didnt include Milo like i asked. Think it was short notice though and they didnt have the information needed. I have sent emails & posters of paddy and milo to radio stoke again and also signal radio and asked them to appeal and put posters up in their office / reception. and i have put milo's poster up in trent vale and trentham along with Paddy's updated picture. Tried to call you back to ask if you thought it was a good idea to post both posters together or separate ?But decided that posting Pad and milo's posters together has more impact.Jayne..Dont know if you have seen the article / photo of Paddy but is was brilliant. They were hoping to put it on frount page but were unable to because of the photo they wanted to use. ?? lostdog story / promotion was spot on. The story covered almost a full page including photo. I have had a few cranks calling telling me that they have seen Paddy on the side of the road (couple of days ago ?) after being hit by a car ! but they were not genuine as they would not give me any contact details. I have obviously had to check their information out myself (not nice at all) just incase ? but nothingThey are just sick with nothing better to do. out & Matt... Noticed there is a comment box at the bottom of Paddys article which asks people to give their view / comments. It states all comments will be published within 10 mins on the sentinel website and may go into the sentinel paper. may be worthwhile commenting and using this publicity to give Milos Story description etc...etc..Debbie x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

muns @ 6:39 - 7/4/2007 - Hi Debbie I am too far away to be a practical help in your area-though I am a midlander by birth-in Norfolk now. Negative thoughts must overwhelm at times BUT it is the positive actions which will get you through and give out the message that we feel in our hearts-we will not give up until we know where Paddy is and what has happened. So many have been missing this long and longer and still been reunited-I hope that can give you some positivity. Replacing posters is great because the thing is that shop keepers maybe assume you have forgottten to update them and have him home by now. Good luck with the latest piblicity-sounds really great. When you feel low.which is so natural at times-do what you did-tell us and we will try and lift you. Here's hoping and praying. . .. . . M x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thankyou for you help. I have contacted centralnews@itv.com and have tried to follow all the other links i have been given. some have been helpful some not so. I have has voice message on friday from the Sunday Sentinel asking me to contact them re :Running a story on Paddy which i shall do. I am gutted though as shops etc... are starting to pull my posters down. So i have printed another (new) lot off.. as i belive Pad will look different now anyway (longer hair) Will also contact admin with new picture.. Am really negative though now as Paddy has been missing for ages. AND NOT HEARD A THING... It is so difficult to keep focused and my keep my spirits up. especially when the kids are so positive that Paddy will be back. They normally buck me up but it just does not seem to be happining at the miniute. Im not so sure now if we will see Paddy again. Once again thankyou so much and i will be in touch with any news. Scarlet, thanks for that. We quite frequently target radio and TV presenters who have dogs because they will often help if they can. Debbie, call Joanne Malin at Central. The newsdesk is on 0808 100 7888. Email is centralnews@itv.com. At a guess Joanne Malin's email will be joanne.malin@itv.com or joannemalin@itv.comLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still keeping checks for Paddy's return, I am so desperately sorry there is still no news. I live in Armitage and both myself and my husband are keeping our eyes open whilst walking our cairn called Tilly in the area just in case. ITV Central news indeed covers your area, why not speak or email Joanne Malin and ask if they can help in anyway, she has a chocolate lab, I feel she is the kinda person who just might help. Please contact her you just never know, keep you chin up and dont loose hope. XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks Nik Feeling really down at the min as Paddy has been missing for almost 4 weeks. i can understand the lady who told me to back of with my publicity as Paddy may be kept hidden but he is only a baby and will alter so much, i bet his hair has grown no end and will continue to do so in the next few weeks. fortunatly i have a picture of Pad before he was clipped so may ask you to alter his picture.. Nik i am feeling really negative this week its my kids what keep boosting me on. Have just read Lottie's amazing story but even that aint boosted my spirits.. Think i am just feeling sorry for myself.. will kick myself up the backside again and kick in 100% Will have to go back over old ground as i dont feel i have left any stone unturned... it is just so hard.. Cheers Nik Debbie x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Debbie, keep the pressure up. Look for areas where posters have been taken down as that is often a tell-tell sign that someone wants to keep a dog out of the limelight. In any case, posters suffer from wear and tear and need to be replaced at regular intervals. Also, if people aren't reminded about a missing dog, they often think s/he has been found. I know it can be soul destroying keeping it all going, but if you want proof of how hard work pays off, just look at Lottie's page. 10 months and she's back. Her owner, Andrea, never gave up. Thanks for messages. cesky... I have emailed everyone i can think off. I have sent emails to all the council offices, newspaper offices, hotels, pubs and clubs, animal rescue centres, stables, boarding kennels, vets, shops. as well as the courts and police stations.. dog groomers and taxi places. Everyone has been so helpful and i have recieved 100's of emails back from people telling me they have printed Paddys posters off and put them up. I have also hand delivered loads... Thanks littlemo this was one place i never knew existed but have now contacted the border collie recue at colton. but ..nothing at all. Thankyou so much for your help and for asking others to put paddys picture out there it really means a lot. I am still concerned though as i was told that it may be worth my while backing off a bit as someone could keep paddy in the house till they think it has died down and this is when he may come to light. Not sure though ? Paddy is deffo imprinted on peoples brains now but if i back off will they still remember ? Paddy will also look so different soon as his coat will be longer and shaggy. he looks loike a little old man really really different than his baby picture. Really do not know what to do now. I am still in reg contact with staff police and they give me an update of any dogs they have had in. just in case Paddy has ran off and been picked up by someone else. Totally running out of steam now and getting even more dispondent . i really really cant think of who to contact or where else there is left to go Paddy could be anywhere. Thanks once again. Will keep you updated. Debbie x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

No cesky i havent.. but will do. Im off work tomorrow so will get a list of groomers up on the the internet and drive round and email posters of paddy to as many as possible. Thanks.. Going also visit weston coyney again as i have recieved another 3 calls today of people stating they have seen paddy here. Like i said before i have seen the older cairn that wanders around and can understand why people think it may be Pad but anything is worth a try. Im fast running out of steam and ideas now. Story was in local paper tonight but not heard anything from this. Still waiting to hear from the sentinel..Might just email editor again tonight. Been thinking Cesky that it may be best to becaume a little quieter now as i have made myself and paddy known to everyone within miles of here and i am sure that if anyone doggy connected will have paddy and his "pain in the butt owner" inprinted on their brain. so just a thought.... that they might be keeping him in..and if i stop the publicity for a while they may think i have given up and paddy may show and someone will click.. Will kick in again with the publicity again later..Really dont know which way to go. what do you anyone else recommend. THANKS LOADS Debbie x What do you think ? is this a good idea or not. Just wish I was closer so that I could give more practical help. Have you sent posters to all the local groomers? Even if Paddy has just been clipped, he will eventually need some attention to his coat and if someone has 'bought' him they may take him to a groomer.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

my whinging and moaning (a few messages down) about where my trail has lead me and things i have found out... i have been told i cant really post on here. But all i can say is that some people have been more helpful than others and anyone searching for their dog needs to be assertive and firm when checking out different links do not accept anyones word, that your dog is not with them or accept peoples discription of your dog as i have learned that peoples discription vary so much. always check things out over and over yourself. I am still getting a lot of calls for Cairn in Weston Coyney (2 miles away) but have been there over and overand have only seen older cairn wandering up and down the main roadside and is not Paddy very much like him though. Keep thinking to myself there may be 2 about but i reckon this is wishful thinking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just read joss story and feel more positive as that shows it CAN happen. was starting to become dispondent as it has been 2 weeks since paddy went missing. The link at the school turned out to be a lhaso apso (sorry about spelling) who was returned to their owner through number on hs tag. Been retracing my steps and recalling the dog wardens police dogs homes etc etc etc yet again, when onto the police they told me that lady had phoned in with cairn terrier (wheaten) yesterday in Rugley. The police phoned to speak to the lady and to get her to call me. but.. she said that the dog was frantic and jumping up and down at the ladys gate so she let him go incase he wanted to go home !! !!! The stafford dog warden was off sick today so there was no one available. emailed more of paddys pics to friends i have in rugley and stafford and tamworth. and got a message to the dog warden and informed the local police. Local Press came out to photpgraph the kids with Paddys picture and run a story. This is being published tomorrow. The local paper is owned by the Sentinel and they are going to contact them to see if they will run the same story (more coverage) and i have emailed the editor again. OLLIES MOM THANKYOU SO MUCH for emailing press release to local papers etc... it means so much. xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are doing really well Debbie. Read the story of Joss, the Cesky Terrier who was stolen in July last year - he was only just a little older than Paddy. He came back after massive publicity, so it really does work! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thank you so much. for all your help.. Paddys posters were "apparantly" all over crufts.. cesky dont worry!!! It means a lot when you post on here.. Chris Roberts (cairn rescue) who bred Pad was showing his brother and posted LOADS of paddys posters. (Over 200)... I am soooo grateful to her... These posters which were apparantly everywhere have in turn lead me recieving a lot of phone calls... and they are all linked...to...something i am completley disgusted by and something i cant comment on at this moment in time... EVEN THOUGH I AM BURSTING TO DO SO.. Anyway i have the lead to the school in the morning, Aint holding my breath though..... as what i have learned over the past couple of days i am mortified...... After all paddys publicity he must be the most wanted cairn in staffs. I have made myself and Paddy so well known it is untrue. Got the press coming to my house Mon or Tue and have emailed richard and judy and paul o'grady..... waiting to hear.. Thankyou again for your messages. Debbie xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Our Discover Dogs stand backed on to the Cairn one - was feeling really guilty that I didn't manage to print out any posters for you, but they were well in evidence anyway, and a lot of people commented on them, so the word is getting around. Keep strong and poster, poster, poster - it really does work.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

was convinced these sightings were Paddy.. but after driving round the area again tonight i found out that there IS a wheaten cairn running round this area but his name is Toby and he is 10 years old.. Apparantly his mum lets him run free from morning until he returns home and he paces the estate where he lives and surrounding areas.. ??? aghhh some people.. So back to square one.... Have had another phone call tonight telling me that dog same as paddys picture was seen outside their kids school this morning...Lady who phoned said that she saw dog playing with kids in the school yard. This sighting is about 5 miles from where i live. The ladys kids said that one of the staff had taken dog into the office. Going to the dogs home again in the morning. I have contacted the police..AGAIN....But as it is Fri night and only got the call at 9.30ish i cant contact the school or dog wardens till Monday morning. Not going to speculate and get my hopes up again but (fingers crossed) Our local paper have agreed to run story. (have not heard from the other) They are sending out photographer Monday afternoon to take pictures and appeal for us.. So that is brill... Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have done...have made myself a complete pain... and the editor is getting back to me today. ? Sent email to channel 4 website also they state "due to all the emails they recieve they will be contacting me soon" so just sent another few ? so they "can't" forget. Paddys ad is running for 4 nights with larger picture. Had 1 phone call today telling me of sighting in weston coyney ? again same area as before and not 2 miles from his home?? I am getting so frustrated as i have followed all leads put posters up in this area and given the postman from this area posters for him and also posters to put up in sorting office. But they have lead to nothing. The dog wardens for this area have been informed "once again" and have promised to do their best? Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Desperately sorry there's no news on Paddy, I am keeping everything crossed for his safe return, I would be heartbroken if my cairn Tilly ever went missing. A shot in the dark I know but Richard and Judy have had good success in reuniting owners with their lost pets, go to the channel 4 website, it's worth a shot. I have been in touch with everyone possible and made myself a complete pain.I have phoned, emailed, written, shouted to all and posted Paddys pictures EVERYWHERE...BUT...have had 3 calls..relating to an ad i ran in Sentinel and all 3 sightings were described the same... but all came of different people. .... Sandy coloured terrier (one stated cairn) running up and down the roadside not 2 miles from where i live !!! and all 3 of the calls said the dog was quite frantic and obviously distressed. Have informed everyone once again.. and posted even more pictures searched high and low but nothing.. Am running the ad once again for all this week but with a larger picture of Paddy and more contact details.. The newspaper have also said that they may run and story with even bigger picture... Just waiting for conformation of this from the editor. So... fingers crossed if all sightings of "Paddy" are correct my next ad may just spur someone to come forward if they know where Paddy is. and he may soon be home... xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Would it be possible to take leaflets to Crufts next week - if he isn't home by then? Birmingham isn't a million miles from Stoke, and visitors are there in their thousands. Cairns will be judged on Saturday, but maybe the breed's Discover Dogs stand could have some (ideally A5) posters to hand out. Many of the trade stand holders are also incredibly helpful.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am pleased daughter had pic on phone as i will now email everyone and post new posters but... cant help feeling mad as i never though to ask her before and to me paddy looks loads different on new pics. might just be me .. dont know . am getting frustrated now and dont know where to go. feel mad about him being taken .... but at the same time i feel happy if he is being looked after, it could be a lot worse. The thing is he is our baby and a member of our family...I would not hold it against anyone who has taken him in and looked after him... i would thank them and reward them for doing so BUT... he is our baby ... xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I hope you find Paddy pretty soon. Ring the council and ask for the number of your local dog warden with your name and telephone number. Also send her an e-mail with a picture. I know the dog warden in Stafford where I live is very caring. I have a brother in Stone who will put up some posters. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for his safe return. Hi thanks for messages. Have spoken to a lady from the cairn terrier rescue tonight who was very helpful and has said she will keep her eyes open for paddy and has linked to the site.. I have driven round again tonight checking the roads Just in case the worst had happened but nothing...I have also spoken to the local council who deals with dog who have been involved in an accident and again nothing.. myself and the kids have walked all over the fields again just to be sure he is not stuck down a hole or tangled up.. But nothing... am convinced he is alive and that someone has taken him home. Just hope he is ok as he was totally spoilt. Its the not knowing that is the worst. Thanks again, will keep you informed of any progress.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Maybe targeting schools, playgournds could be useful because if he's like that children will fall in love with him Fingers crossed for an early return xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen (even put poster on bins), schools, deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Check Police stations and Dog Warden. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Paddy. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
