THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER !!! I have just got up to let my Dogs out, and thought that I would quickly check for any updates! WELCOME HOME FLORIDA/DAISY !!!!
You have all worked TIRELESSLY Dawn Michelle Easton Graham, Wendy Botto, Liz (Daisy's new Owner) Lorna Milton and her Husband John, Sheila, and Margaret (Daisy's Fosterer) Without you all, and the help of so many volunteers, this rescue would not have been possible. As an experienced team of working with ex-breeding Dogs, you have excelled yourselves. I am so relieved for you all. This has been going on since the 6th of July. You all deserve recognition for working together as a perfect team. On behalf of all of us here at Doglost Oxfordshire, we thank you for bringing Daisy to safety. xxx

Just amazing!! Can't sleep for excitement ... the whole team has been utterly amazing, Liz, Margaret, Dawn, Wendy, Sheila and all the locals who have worked so hard to find sightings, posted, provided food for the cage. Welcome home Daisy xx

OMG that is wonderful. You must have put your post up as I was writing mine....

Hi, I am not in the area to be able to help but I have just been ready the thread and a number of thoughts came to mind and I hope you don't mind me sharing them.
Could an item of clothing of the fosterer be left somewhere quiet on her route to attract her to stay.
Her sightings are about every two days, could you plot the places on a map and it will probably form a triangle. By doing that you can possibly predict her next visit at a certain place.
Leave food in a quiet area of one of the sightings, preferably near to item of clothing.
A good trick if she is seen, is to lie down and whimper, she will be inquisitive and probably approach. Have some tasty food and a slip lead and avoid eye contact.
I wish you all good luck and hope she is caught very soon.
Dawn G
REUNITED!!! Daisy (Florida) came back to her adopter Liz's house in the night, and found Margaret her fosterer, and her 2 little dogs who were camped in the kitchen with the back door open. Tears of joy all round. Thank you EVERYONE for all your help and support. Great team work xxxxx

Hurry home Daisy Dog...
Good luck everyone...x
Sally
Okay. Let's hope we spot her.
Dawn G
Florida/Daisy's fosterer has travelled back tonight. Margaret is the ONLY person that she trusts and may go to. If you do happen to see Daisy PLEASE phone Liz on the above mobile, PLEASE do not attempt to approach or lure her. She is a VERY SCARED rescue dog. Thank you for all your help and understanding xx

Sally
Good to hear Daisy is still close to home.We live close by so will be out late tonight to search around Bridus Mead. Will have doggy food in case we spot her. Hopefully she will approach if she smells food.
AnnieO
Checked Hagborne Road, Thorpe St, Moreton Rd, The Croft and surrounds this morning, as there had been no update then, limited public to speak to, but updated local builders
Dawn G
UPDATE 13.07.15 from a passer by who drove via Bessels Lea on way home from a night shift .......Sighting: 00:45 13/07/2015 Bridus Mead Green.... outside number 10. Ran off towards mobile park. As I drove out of estate she was running on path from Bessels Lea back into Bridus Mead... she had run round the block. Lost her after that.
Dawn G
So far sightings are...
Monday 6th July 10am - escaped from house, Bridus Mead, Blewbury
Seen shortly after at Ashdown House, on Bessels Way, then 10.30am on track between Blewburton Hill and Church in Aston Upthorpe.
Tuesday 7th July approx 9pm - crossing road in East Hagbourne B4016
Thursday 9th July 3.30am - came back to Liz's garden Bridus Mead but fled again
More sightings in evening around The Mill and Orchard Dene area, Blewbury
Friday 10th July 1am - on A417 near Aston turning, then again 8.30am Upthorpe Farm, was chased and ran into crop fields
Sunday 12th July 10am - Thorpe Street/Hagbourne Road in Aston. She ran past new houses being built, then towards Aston Upthorpe Stud and vanished
Willow Dood
She was also sighted this morning (Sunday) on the building site just down the road from the stud. Although the area was well searched, Daisy wasn't seen again. This afternoon I walked from the farm in Blewbury, up the track towards Aston Upthorpe, over Blueburton Hill to the Hagbourne Road, up past the stud and into Aston Upthorpe. I dropped fliers into most of the houses in Aston Upthorpe, including Moreton Road, Thorpe Street, Hagbourne Road and Fullers Road. I also spoke to some residents and dog walkers. About 50% of those I spoke to knew that Daisy was missing. But I didn't see Daisy, unfortunately. But she does seem to be staying in the area. the more people know that she is missing - the more information we should be getting as to her whereabouts. That's the theory anyway.
julian
we'll be coming over this evening for a walk around,
there is a motorcycle event in West Hagbourne on Tuesday evening and there will be many bikes around, hopefully she'll be home before then but maybe a large poster could be put up at the Horse and Harrow pub where it is taking place
Dawn G
There has been a sighting of Florida/Daisy this morning (Sunday)approx 10am near to Aston Upthorpe Stud. When the person stopped their car she ran off. Please can you keep a look out - we think she may have run towards Blewburton Hill.
Dawn G
No more news to report and she is still missing with no sightings since Friday morning (10th July). With the good weather, the smell of BBQ's around her adopters house was quite strong, so I'm not sure if that would have attracted her or not. We really need some more sightings. Please can everyone keep spreading the word and keep sharing. To date her sightings have been Blewbury, Aston, the A417 near the Aston turn, and East Hagbourne. Having been scared and chased from Aston Upthorpe, it's possible she is lying low or has moved further afield? Cholsey, South Moreton? If anyone can kindly walk the footpaths round the areas of sightings and neighbouring villages we'd be really grateful. Her adopter and many volunteers are exhausted, and fresh eyes would be so helpful. Please remember DO NOT APPROACH Florida/Daisy, but call Liz. Thank you x
4bichons
A barbecue can really work as this has been tried many times before. But I just wonder, due to the lovely weather, how many more barbecues are being lit in the village and nearby. I would advise everybody in this category to thoroughly search their gardens just in case Daisy has wandered in, following the lovely smells.
Willow Dood
Is there any news on Daisy? Has she been seen in the last day or so? Please post on here if you require any more leaflet distributed. I have printed out many small flyers with photo and contact details. Keeping everything crossed for success soon. xx
Observant Citizen
That's a really good idea jenny4...x
Unknown
well maybe tonight , as I have stated in other cases, get a disposable bbq going with sausages and bacon, very strong smell will travel quite a way, but do it late in the evening so aroma will linger on the night air xx
4bichons
The trap was set up like a little cosy den with artificial grass, hay, Florida's blanket and bed, water and tempting food. The crate was covered except for the doorway and one of our lovely volunteers reported that all her dogs wanted to go inside, even before the food was placed in it. So this trap was very disguised, in Liz's garden where Florida had been the previous night. Fingers crossed for tonight when her fosterer comes back for the night to spread her scent.
Willow Dood
What a pity she didn't appear last night. I assume that food and water, bedding etc is being left for her in a sheltered place in Liz's garden. Would it be a good idea to establish a feeding pattern first to gain her confidence and keep her in Blewbury. Then introduce the trap slowly. She may have been scared off by the scent of new people in and around Liz's garden. But at least she stayed in the village during the day. Stay safe Daisy. xx
4bichons
Very disappointing as Florida didn't appear lat night. However she was seen in the village during the day and her fosterer, Margaret plans to come down later today and is prepared to stay overnight. Let's hope her scent and that of Millie her dog entices Florida back.
AnnieO
Sweepstake, my money is 0315 not long now x x x

aw praying hard for you tonight xxxx
Willow Dood
I hope that it all goes well tonight and that Daisy is not scared off by the trap. Fingers, toes and paws crossed here! xx
Sally
Good luck x
Shereen
Best of luck for tonight!

The trap is on its way now while I stay home and look after our dogs. Liz has cooked chicken garlic and has sardines on hand, a blanket belonging to Florida and the bed she slept in on Sunday night. The camera and monitor are charged up and I'm going to make John some food to keep him going all night while he monitors the camera from the car. He has set the 'platform' on very sensitive so there should be no fears that it won't drop the door if Florida goes in. These traps are very clever and this was the one highly recommended by dog lost when we got it 3 years ago. I intend to go over to see Liz later on until it gets dark. Please everyone say a prayer xx
4bichons
I've received a few messages from concerned dog lovers questioning how the dog trap works. Anyone who is interested in how this is triggered can access the details on http://www.mdcexports.co.uk/Traps%20and%20Restrainers#_page=3 The model we have is the dog/fox trap priced at £196.20. We will line with straw, place a cover over the top and put the food on the platform at the back of the crate. Last edited: 2015-07-09 09:24:03 by 4bichons

Sounds like she now wants to come home, good luck for today ..... raw tripe is another good stinky food they likexx
Willow Dood
So she did complete the triangle and come back to Blewbury. That is fantastic news. Sorry I didn't get to you yesterday evening, but I wanted to walk from Blewbury to Hagbourne over the fields and felt it was too late as I didn't know the area. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed today and watch this thread eagerly for some news. Come on little lady, you do know where you will be happy. Come home and stay home! xxx
4bichons
We now think it best to lie low today otherwise she may leave the area. we are setting up our dog trap later with sardines, garlic chicken and anything else which may attract her. So no searches today as we want her to stay nearby.
Dawn G
Sighting last night! She came back to Liz's garden but bolted again. This is really positive news. Please keep a look out, but remember.....DO NOT APPROACH her as she is very scared. If you see her try to contact Liz on the numbers above. Fingers crossed x
Sally
We have searched the Moretons and Astons this evening. All quiet. No sightings I'm afraid.

Wendy and I have been knocking on doors and putting posters through doors in some of the more remote homes around Blewbury, Hagbourne. Don't really know what else to do. Will go out again this evening in the hope of seeing her as it approaches dusk!
Oxtid
Put poster up at South Moreton school. Searched my neighbours garden and sent handwritten notes to the owners of gardens in Aston Upthorpe where she was last seen - notified builders, gardeners and dog walkers. But it seems like she has moved on from Upthorpe. Saw quite a few folks out last night.
AnnieO
Checked St Michael to all saints Church footpath, then track down past All Saints, uturned and took little steps onto footpath along hill to the metal gate and came through that and turned back along bridlepath back into Aston Upthorpe
Sally
We searched Blewburton Hill and surrounding area making our way across the A417towards the Downs yesterday evening. Unfortunately no sightings of Daisy

it was me who made that sighting on our way back from searching but I can't say for definite that it was her, it was only a quick sighting but I didn't notice any collar or harness, it could've been her but I'm not certain
Sheila McDonald
I have contacted local radio stations and newspapers. Have posters to post as well. If we can perhaps do a collective and coordinated search this evening when she is likely to be active this may help. Several of us, but where?

Taking posters out this morning to East Hagbourne, Upton and West Hagbourne. Last edited: 2015-07-08 10:12:56 by 4bichons

I wonder if this little dog could be running a triangle, or starting to. Or is it only dogs who know where they are that do this? She seems to always be a couple of kms ahead of those searching for her. But if she was running in a triangle - the next stop could be Blewbury (where she started). Just a thought. What do you think? Hopefully the locals who are out searching were told about this sighting last night while there was still some light left. Last edited: 2015-07-08 08:39:41 by Willow Dood

Dawn Michelle Easton Graham has asked me to post this up onto Daisys thread....... Latest sighting - seen darting across road in front of a car travelling from Blewbury to East Hagbourne and ran into garden on left side of Hagbourne. This was approx 9pm last night (07/07) The road number is B4016. xxx
Wendy
She was last seenappro 10.30 yesterday in Aston Upthorpe running into a garden but we are not sure sure which garden. If anyone know the jogger that saw her it would be useful to know which house, that was only half an hour after she was seen in Blewbury though (shortly after she went missing). We have been searching all day around the garden and cornfields at the foot of Bluburton hill. My little exbreeding foster dog came with me and is now really tired so no doubt she had been resting a lot but she could have run back out of the garden in Aston Upthorpe in any direction (if not still hiding in it). Her fosterer says when she hid in her small garden in the shrubs she was very hard to see. I can head back there tomorrow and maybe travel a bit further afield too. Still positive.
Sammie
Thank you Oxtid. There are lots of Many Tears supporters following Florida and wish her home safely.
Oxtid
The church is All Saints, Aston Upthorpe (St Michaels in Aston Tirrold is another 500m away). I live <100m from the last sighting and have personally contacted all owners of adjacent gardens, emailed all contacts in Upthorpe/Tirrold and had a tweet put out on the village network. Just put up 10 posters but someone is taking them down - including from my own front fence :(.

'Bumped' page due to possible sighting. Come on little girl, let somebody help you x

This has been posted on Doglost Oxfordshire...
Dawn Michelle Easton Graham Possible sighting yesterday morning 10.30am by jogger. She saw a small dog running scared down the track into the next village of Aston Tirrold by the church. The track leads from where she was last seen by owner at 10am, over Blewburton Hill. Lots of bushes and gardens to hide in. Please keep looking everyone. xxx

we're coming out to search this evening

Just a thought - there were campers in field next to David barbers on Sunday and a party in the building- has anyone checked with them?
Checked with Chequers Garage
Sally
Went up to Blewburton hill with binoculars. Searched surrounding fields. No sightings as yet. Also checked undergrowth along Bessels way nr Ashdown house.
Will look again this evening searching more towardsAston Tirrold.
Oxtid
Willow Dood - you can follow a farm track bridleway from farm just north of Ashdown house towards the terraced hill (Blewburton Hill). That hill is full of rabbit warrens and rabbits - terrier heaven! There have been helicopters overhead today - so I was hoping that might have scared her out of hiding.
Willow Dood
Willow and I will come up again this afternoon to help search. As I am not from the area it would be helpful to know where I would be best used. She is such a little dog, surely she can't gave gone very far from Ashdown House and the cornfield. Hopefully we will see some of the local ladies again. Come on Daisy - show yourself. X
Sally
We will be out this morning to share in the search for her.
Oxtid
No sighting on Blewburton this am. Also checked Picks Field (Aston's) but the grass there is taller than me and I can't even see my collies unless they are right in front of me. I did throw lots of frisbee's so the collies would trample through as much as they could and hopefully flush things out - but no luck. Will share with local vets and try to get tweeted in Aston's too.
AnnieO
Will come back out again today after school run, unless anyone can suggest something else, will walk external bounds of Ashdown House and surrounding field x
4bichons
Would anyone be willing to help in the search for Daisy? We spent hours looking yesterday to no avail, put up posters around the village and are just praying that she will be found. This little dog has only been with her new owner for a day and doesn't know the area. If you can help, please ring Liz

I joined up with some local ladies who were searching for Daisy (Florida) but we didn't see her. Nearly everyone I spoke to was out looking for Daisy, so word had got around the village. We covered a large area but unfortunately - nothing. There are very many places where a dog could shelter from the heat. Hopefully some of the local ladies will be able to go back again at dusk and resume the search. Daisy was seen this morning in the grounds of Ashdown House by a motorist, but she had gone by the time they got back there. There are plenty of places she could be hiding next to this house, if she could get access. Perhaps this evening she will be hungry and venture out of her hiding place to look for food. Good luck everyone. X
Oxtid
No sighting on Blewburton this am - will go again tomorrow.
