Any more sightings or news?

Hi Kim - the ID for the other sighted collie at Alton is 89667 - I felt it better to have a separate page as we are not sure if these both sighted collies are the same and thought if people in Hampshire did see a collie on its own they would not look at a Surrey page. Julie x

Also, is there a co-ord that way - I think so, but if not let me know. What is the number of the "missing" dog's page? Thanks.

Thank you, hazebella. Julie, if owners tells us what they needs on the pages, or amendments, we can alter for them. Email came into Admin with the photos. x

Hi Collieboys - I think it would be a good idea to register your sighting separately possibly people in Alton may not think to look at a page for Surrey if they have spotted a collie on its own. Sorry but there is another sighting of a collie on the East/West Sussex border which would be nearer to the sighting Rachel posted. I am just trying to find a way forward which is clearer for everyone. Thanks. Julie
Collieboys
Hi Julie, If you think it will be easier for people to understand then I can do a new one for the GU34 collie. When Rachel and I first spoke we knew that this dog may be the same one or possibly not but I think maybe that's a good idea as you said it may make it easier to follow . whatever you think is best is fine .I think the GU34 collie probably comes from this area but when he /she ran it was out of the town and away from the town . Still no sighting or reports of missing collie around here .
Just let me know if you would like me to separate one x

Collieboys - I am just wondering as I am becoming quite confused whether it would be worth you adding your sighting of the collie in Sainsbury's car park, Alton as a separate dog in the found section here as sighted. One of our members on DL Surrey facebook page has just said there was a sighting of a collie on the East/West Sussex border on the same day as well and is trying to find the post. We cannot be sure these are all the same dog so wondered to clarify if they were on here separately it would be easier for people to follow. J. Great Collieboys lets hope and pray it bring some news of this poor dog. J. x
Collieboys
Julie Thanks x I've emailed a couple of photos to admin of my tri colour border collie ,hopefully having photos of a similar dog will help x
DogLostJulie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
Collieboys I have altered the wording on the poster and dogs details - if you can find a photo please email to admin at DL to put on. I hope this helps. Julie
Collieboys
I'm having difficulty printing posters ,I'm trying to add some wording about the first sighting on Sunday morning but I can't edit it at all.Is there a template that could be emailed to me please?
Regarding photos I just thought if we had a similar photo then at least on posters etc I would grab people's attention .One of my border collies is a similar size and a tri colour ,even though he won't look the same as the missing collie ,maybe having a photo might jog people's memories or stick in the minds when they are out and about .x
Collieboys
All of the councils and dog wardens have said they will tell me of any news which I'm grateful for ,even if they can only say the minimum.I hope the dog is safely back with its owner but I do have doubts .Today brought tears as I considered it being a whole week .Im so hoping this dog will be sighted and brought to safety.x

Collieboys are you able to find a similar photo - you could email in to admin at Dog Lost who I am sure will upload for you. As far as I am aware there is no news at all of this poor dog. J. x

Collieboys, did the warden say they'd call you if one was picked up. When I tried with another local authority, I was told I couldn't be told if I was not the dogs owner! It's quite possible that this dog may have found his owner and we wouldn't know. Hoping that's the case.
Collieboys
It is 1 week since this precious dog was first sighted.I echo again what we have all been saying, this dog must belong to somebody .Somebody somewhere knows this dog .Im not going to give up .Just hoping and praying that a kind person will find him/her and at least we can get the dog some treatment started .Im just wondering would it help if we added a 'similar dog ' photo ? x

I really hope that this dog is found soon especially if injured...Surely someone is missing it

Collieboys, you said earlier that you don't have Facebook. You will find it very useful for posting on so many sites, and they usually have links to other sites as well. You can spread the poster around a lot of places on Facebook. I'm nearly 70, I'm on Facebook as it is so useful. If I don't know about something to do with Facebook I will post a message on a site & people will help. Have a go, you will find it very good. I've been going round so many of the Facebook sites for veterinary surgeons all around Surrey & found out about other useful sites from them.
Collieboys
Ive just contacted West Sussex dog warden and asked if they would take the details which they have and put on the system .
Collieboys
Thanks ,I dont mind doing it whichever way is best,I was just thinking that particularly in this area I ought to add the info from Sunday morning as well .I know this may not be the same collie but it sounds very similar and the one we sighted and tried to find was running extremely fast obviously very scared and it was running in the direction of going out of the town .If it isnt the same one them we have two precious collies to try and find .I spoke to the pet shop in Alton just now and they are happy to take some posters .Thanks Everyone x

Collieboys can you add the information yourself to the poster - i.e. your sighting in Sainsburys Car park, Alton on Sunday morning. If you look at Dog Lost Surrey Facebook page you will see the later info on there. J.

It seems this dog was first seen by Collieboys on Sunday morning in Sainsburys Car Park, Alton - Rachel then was informed a dog matching this description was seen by a friend in the Cranleigh area on Sunday evening - I guess if this dog is very frightened and running it is possible it has covered these miles. I understand the last sighting was in the Cranleigh area. J. x

Do we need to change the location/ details on this ?
Liberty Belle
Yes, I saw that it was GU34 for Sainsburys Car Park, Alton when I checked on a map. Trying to circulate all the Facebook pages or surgeries (if no Facebook page) for veterinary surgeons in a big sweep of the area. Don't know who to ask re putting other information on poster. I would suggest telephoning Dog Lost Admin & giving them the Dog ID number on the top of the poster: 89419 & talk to them.
Collieboys
..meant to say,the first sighting was GU34 etc x
Collieboys
Great thanks x Dont know who to ask about this but want to put posters up around here but really need the info from Sunday morning on it as that was the first sighting is that possible ? As then it might jolt peoples memory etc .

Thanks so much x Cedar Vets are my vets ,they have the details but am thankful for you doing the facebook thing as I dont have facebook .I do think its likely that this dog comes from around here ,on Sunday morning although limping prob from an RTA the dog wasnt bleeding so I think the poor dog was hit local to here .Is there a poster to print ? Thanks Everyone x

Ive just called Waverley Council back and asked if they can look in the area the dog was last sighted .He proceeded to tell me that they cant as they dont have "their own dog warden" Why didnt he tell me that yesterday !? I asked him what they do if somebody finds a stray dog ,he said if the person can contain the dog then they collect the dog .Ive just got back to East Hants Council which covers my area, they have given me the number of the Hants and Surrey RSPCA,Ive called them, left a message and waiting for them to call me back .If anyone else can help with ideas of who else we can contact that would be great .So worried about this dog, somebody somewhere must know him/her .RSPCA have just rang and Ive explained everything but they said they dont have the resources to be able to try and find a dog that has only been sighted and it being a couple of days ago . : ( I cannot drive at the moment due to medication othherwise I would go to the area but if anybody can help in any way that would be good .Thanks x
Collieboys
Hi Twinkles x Sorry but this dog isnt your gorgeous Cap,this dog has a longer coat and different face .x
Collieboys
Hi Twinkles,Of course I'll check for you x
Twinkles
Hi Collieboys, would you mind checking mums dog, Cap 55094, and check his photo against the dog that has been sighted? Cap has been missing for two years from Worcestershire. Thank you x
Jot cotswolds
Other than the dog warden saying they have no missing reports is anyone from their office actually going to try to help it as it is clearly there and badly injured. In this warm weather it could get flystrike in the wound if untreated. If they aren't even going to try to look for it and get it to safety then help from a local rescue centre is needed?
Collieboys
I have contacted Waverley Council dog warden this morning and given details ,they havent had any reports of a missing collie .Ive also contacted both Vet surgeries in Alton giving them details ,they havent had a collie taken to them or any reports of a missing one .
Collieboys
I will do whatever I can to help
Collieboys
This dog sounds very similar to a dog my husband and I were searching for on Sunday morning .We were in Sainsburys car park at Alton,Hampshire GU34 a border collie came running through the car park .We spent 2 hrs searching for this dog.Despite our efforts we couldnt find him/her .I gave details to doglost and called the dog warden first thing yesterday morning . This dog is an adult border collie, medium sized with a med/longish coat .A Tri Colour with a lot of black on the back .I suspect the dog had been in an RTA as it has an injury to the back leg on the right side .The description of the above sighted dog sounds very similar .I thought that the dog probably came from Alton or surrounding area as although injured there was not obvious bleeding so it may be local to here .A couple of people working in Sainsburys petrol station said the dog was running across the forecourt before heading into the car park .The dog was similar size to one of my collies . ive been thinking about it ever since and during the night came on doglost to see if any reports of a collie in the area and found this post .
Hoping this dog will be safely found very soon x
