Great news!

Lovely Isla has given herself up! Her owner has been out with her other beagle all week coaxing her with treats and Isla has been getting more confident and playing with the other beagle. This morning she allowed a lead to be slipped over her head, and finally caught. It really does show how steady patience really is the answer!
Mollychops
Softly softly with Isla, and so hopeing she will give herself up. The lady another Jenny who is feeding her, is doing a wonderful job. PD your comment is spot on !
Goldenfrodo
I've been following Isla's story and know what a great job Jenny and Tiga do. Fingers tightly crossed the kind lady can get this lovely girl's trust soon. Good luck xx
Nelsonbeagle
Having watched Isla's pattern I'm sure that if she is left completely alone with the lovely lady feeding her and not frightened away this will resolve. Thank you to everyone for your concern.

Thank you Jayelle, a possible idea but I am 100 miles away, I have travelled down twice so far to track and we now know the route she is taking. I will speak to this lovely lady that is feeding her and I think Isla is watching her as she comes for food soon after she puts it out if it is safe to do so.
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Isla has just been back for food and water and mooched off but people are still trying to follow her and trying to catch her. We don't want this, We want her to feel safe with this lady.
BorderCol
Now that you can get so close, could you try clicker training her to approach you Jenny? I have had very quick results with a feral cat in this way. It was a truly feral cat but instantly figured out that I would click and roll a small treat first for just looking at me, then for approaching one step at a time. If she is hungry this will work very fast. Email me at jlovering@btinternet.com if I can help.
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
We are not aiming to catch Isla at this stage now. This lovely lady will continue to feed her and build up her trust over the coming days and maybe weeks. Isla has been back to her for food today.
Observant Citizen
Good luck for this evening from Doglost Oxfordshire...x
Anna
Isla is still in the area and has been sighted today.
Mollychops
Jenny and Petronella you were both amazing yesterday. Gosh we just want her caught. Im sure It wont be long now. Just to remind people who haven't read it, below, to be aware of her if you are in the area with your dog, to please keep them away as what we don't want is her leaving this spot where she is staying and feeding, then running away scared and getting injured or worse
Cheryl
Gosh a really well done to the team and all involved. I do hope that Isla continues to visit the area for food and that it is not too long before she is home. In the meantime Isla please keep away from all the hazards and stay safe xLast edited: 2015-07-29 13:10:42 by Cheryl

What a day - not long been home. Poor Isla is feral and is just not responding. Petronella actually had her collar after crawling through the grass while she was curled up. Unfortunately Isla got free but didn't go far. Soon after I approached her down wind while she was again curled up in the grass, I got to within 2 foot and she lifted her head at a dog walker and trotted off again, later on she was resting up and watching me quite happily until another dog walker came along and walked past her - Isla watched and the walker didn't know she was there but her off lead dog went to investigate and up she got and trotted off. Within moments she was seen some distance away and heading towards where she was the night before and sadly the gamekeeper said he would shoot her if she came near his pheasants. I had no choice but to abandon Tiga with Petronella and leg it in a wide circle and head her back to the common.
Fortunately she responded and was back on the common. We had no choice now but to set up the trap and sit it out. We set it up and watched - Isla soon came and took some food from outside the trap. I pushed more food in and further back. An hour later she came back but she went no further than poking her nose in. For half an hour we watched as she circled the trap trying to work out how to get the food. Eventually she retired and went off to sleep. We continued to watch but no luck.
I packed the trap up and spent time with a lovely lady who is going to continue to put food and water out for Isla on a regular basis as she seems happy to go there for it.
Isla is very very thin and we need her to eat now. This lady is going to build up her trust for as long as it takes.
Poor pup she has had such a bad life.
Thank you so much to Petronella who was just amazing today - I hope your injuries are not to bad. Also for looking after Tiga when I didn't need a dog with me - I am glad you experienced Tiga tracking when he continued to track while you were holding him and that he took you to where Isla was in the field!
Stay safe Isla.Last edited: 2015-07-29 10:00:50 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

I do hope that Isla gives herself up soon. I am glad I didn't go to Hungerford this afternoon. It sounds as though It is too crowded already. Good Luck Jenny.
Mollychops
Jenny has been able to get within inches of Isla today, but each time, walkers dogs scare her away. Isla has gone very feral, and is in a very bad way physically. Please if you are walking in this area over the next few hours they would be really grateful if you will keep dogs back a distance. Its only a matter of time now, as she is exhausted Thanks everyone !
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Isla has just been seen again at Hungerford Rugby Club so possibly heading back to the copse on the common to bed down
Come on BeaglesUk - get Isla home safely tonight - I wish I was with you.Last edited: 2015-07-27 20:48:57 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

Isla has just been spotted again by two of our beagles uk members walking with their beagles. They are armed with food and treats. I am a little worried that a local farmer has got pheasant and doesn't want Isla going near. Last edited: 2015-07-27 20:36:02 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker

I have just alerted both pubs again. The Dundas Arms have just briefed their team and will be on the lookout in case she does venture into Kintbury.
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Yogi tracked along this towpath towards Kintbury but after going after the 2 bridges Yogi carried on towards Kintbury but took the 'fishermans' path in the same direction and then back onto the towpath continuing towards Kintbury, he then turned left over the lock and along a private road. We spoke to the houses and landowners in this area and this could well be Isla's loop although Yogi did want to contune along in the direction of Kintbury.
I have asked some local beagle owners if they are available to come out again tonight to walk with their beagles. I am so tempted to go back down tonight with either Tiga or Yogi.
Cheryl
Thank you Mollychops. Fingers and paws crossed.
Mollychops
Ive bumped her page due to the sighting
Cheryl
Owner has just reported that Isla has just been sighted on the towpath heading towards Kintbury. Is there anyone walking in that area that can assist, but please don't chase or allow your dog to chase her, she is very nervous.

There was another sighting of Isla yesterday evening and she started coming to owner but was sent wandering off again when an off lead boysterous Labrador came bundling over to her. She is staying in the same area so owner will continue as she is. A patient game here.
Nelsonbeagle
Please could you check the numbers as there isn't a match. Thank you.

Is there any news on this little one? I could go over there this afternoon if I could be of any help in the search for Isla. Please let me know?
Mollychops
Thanks Jenny, this is great news
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
There has just been a sighting of Isla in the copse where Yogi tracked through. This is fantastic as it is very close to the pub! I have advised owner of what to do. So relieved and pleased she is close by and obviously wants to be back with her new beagle mate.
Mollychops
Thanks Cheryl I will double check with owner and I will add it to the poster. Thanks Jenny as always , for coming out to search x Good idea Skywalker , I will suggest this to owner , thanks
Cheryl
Can a mobile number be added to the poster? 07541 260914 appears on some info is this number correct?
Cheryl
Just emailed Kennet Horse boat canal in Kintbury with poster. Stay safe Isla and let people help you get home. X
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Just listening to Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 at the moment and he is talking about the speeding cars on Hungerford Common and the number of cows that are hit on the road through the common - stay safe Isla

It is probabaly worth letting the Dundas arms aon the canal at Kintbury know about Isla, also the people who run the horse drawn canal trips from Newbury/Kintbury
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
Yogi tracked last night as Tiga had had 2 long days tracking Fly and he tracked along the canal towards Kintbury but also came back towards the common. Lots of posters need to go up as there are so many dangers for poor Isla and she doesn't know the area. She was only in her new home for a few hours before bolting in very unfortunate circumstances. She was spotted on the railway line soon after going missing but was coaxed off it before running across the common.
A good starting point for postering and beginning any searches is from the Down Gate pub very close to where she went missing - this is the start of the common.
Isla needs to keep away from the railway, the canal, the river and the very busy roads.

Thanks so much Jenny. Good Luck ! Fingers crossed she stayed away from the railway
Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
I am on my way as Isla needs help. She bolted from new home at 2 in morning after owner had a knock at door. She was seen on railway line which is close by but was also seen off it afterwards. The railway have been informed but it is not securely fenced. She has only been in her new home for 1 night as was rescued and is probably frightened of men but loves dogs.
