7 years ago yesterday, 28 July 2015 some cruel and heartless person stole Poppy from her family. Dogs are being found 7 years after they were stolen so please let Poppy come home.

Do you recognise this stray Spaniel? She was found in Selsey and she is very old with a matted coat. She has been to the vets for treatment and she will be bathed and groomed. I phoned Hammerpond Kennels this morning. The receptionist/lady who answered the phone was lovely. The lady who called me back was not going to be helpful in any way, shape or form! I feel so angry that I could cry. She told me that I can go and see the dog myself, but it would have to be tomorrow as she has then done her 7 days. She said she is going to rescue but unable to tell me which one. According to this woman the dog is so aggressive (frightened I would think, poor thing) that they cannot get near it. She said that on Sunday this was the first time she got out of her bed, but they didn't think to look to see if she had a full tail or not!! One wonders if she has even been fed!! I asked her if she thought that she was the colour of a labrador/retriever, her answer was no I can't because labradors come in so many different colour!! I know that. I doubt she has even seen the dog herself. I can go to see the dog tomorrow if I want to but I cannot ask anyone else to go on my behalf - She was not going to be helpful and that was that. I am now going to ring the vets who told me she had been reunited with her owners. She hasn't. I will ask them if they noticed if she had a tail when they scanned her, they couldn't find a chip apparently................

Have now spoken to Jalopy, unless we can get a DNA sample, I don't know how this could be resolved. DNA samples I think are usually obtained from the dogs saliva from inside their cheeks (best place).

Thank you Claire and thank you Max, I have seen the post about the eastern european buskers, but don't really know who to contact to get more info. The fact that these dogs have eastern european chips means nothing as these chips are easily located, dug out and re chipped. Is there some sort of test that can be done on the nose of a dog, like a DNA test?? or who can help?

I have called Waltham Forest Council about the American cocker (it isn't an American) found Montague Rd, E11, Ref 3443. The Dog Warden doesn't think it is Poppy as he says she is not chipped and looks like she may have been used for breeding (poor thing!). I have emailed him more details and photos of her so am waiting for a reply. Thank you, I really appreciate everyone's hard work. One day I'll have her back!

This evening I received a message via FB about a thin dog, possibly looking like a retriever, spotted on the B3186 (the road between Yealmpton and Noss Mayo I think) its a country laneyesterday (28/11/15) around mid day. A man stopped to try and call the dog but it ran off. Could be Poppy, she is quite large for a cocker with a very bushy tail and her coat grows very long. I have driven around this evening as it is only about 10 miles from where I live, nothing, I will go again tomorrow but are there any volunteers around that area who could help please? Thank you. I think the Nottingham Stray Dogs dog was not microchipped. I will check it out again and look at found ID 95256.

I have again contacted Vets in the wider area. I have given them calendars of Missing Dogs, called I call your name. Produced by a group of ladies to highlight their missing dogs. Poppy is Miss February. I have emailed the Blue Cross head office and sent them photos of Poppy. I have put Poppy on Phoenix Pet Protectors and posted calendars and posters to Battersea Dogs Homes and asked the employees to join the group called Help Find Poppy the Cocker Spaniel. Thank you for all your hard work.

Thanks for that. Oh how I hate Scumtree!!! I could not see the advert, so presume it has been removed? I saw an advert for a year old one, the only one I've seen that looks like Pops. Why does a dog have to go when you are having a baby??? My children grew up with a dog around.

For everyone not a member of Poppy's Facebook group HELP FIND POPPY THE COCKER SPANIEL, this is an update from this morning.

It's nearly 4 months since Poppy disappeared from her garden in Rattery, Devon. There have been no sightings, no phone calls, nothing..... except for a hint that she may be in the Manchester area - which after a huge effort from 2 fantastic volunteers, came to nothing... but you have to follow up every lead......
There are now several posters being circulated on Facebook - namely Doglost, Harveys Army, AWOL, and the one that Poppy's owner made.
The area has been flooded with posters as far as Exeter and Plymouth, vets within a 30+ mile radius have been contacted and emailed a poster, local groomers, kennels, shops, RSPCA, Blue Cross, Pets at Home, hunts across Devon and Cornwall are aware and have circulated to their members, Dog Wardens, Police, Network Rail I spoke to them again yesterday), Poppy has been shared to so many Facebook sites, a Thunderclap was done on 3 November, Poppy is Miss February in the "I Call Your Name" calendar (which has been sent to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and it's branches as well as some veterinary surgeries), Poppy's owner, Jackie Veale, has done a local radio interview, appeared in local press, advertised in the Western Morning News. This is just a fraction of the enormous effort being put into finding out what happened to Poppy.
There is even an article in Dogworld about the plight of missing and stolen dogs, featuring the fantastic calendar that has been put together by desperate owners. Click on the photo to read the article.
SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE MUST KNOW WHERE POPPY IS!!!!! Jackie is desperate to find out what has happened. Poppy is an RSPCA rescue dog who thought she had found her forever home with people that adored her, until some thieving scumbag snatched her away to who knows where.....
We now have 721 members and we are begging you to please ask friends to join, share Poppy to other sites, print just one poster and take to your vets. Honestly, they really won't mind putting a poster on their noticeboard. POPPY COULD BE ANYWHERE!!!!!
I am sitting here wondering what are we NOT doing to find Poppy?????? The last time I felt like this, about a dog I was looking for, half an hour later the phone rang and it was the owner - Charlie was home!!!
Please let that happen today.....

Have spoken to Poppys owner tonight. There has been no sightings/word of Poppy since she went missing, despite all the owners efforts to find her.
Her owner has been interviewed by local media, but still nothing. She is distraught, can we please have a massive push for Poppy.

Have spoken to owner of Poppy re a found (90071) in cornwall. From the description, it may not be Poppy, but i am going to check tomorrow with the council strays list.
Her owner has postered everywhere locally, been interviewed on local radio, has advertised on internet sites/facebook pages & still not a single thing has been heard since she went missing. She is amazed at the number of people who have been looking, helping & sharing.

Have spoken to owner to check whether or not the one found in Cornwall was hers & sadly it wasn't :( ( that one has now been reunited with local owner)
It seems Poppy was in the garden at home & disappeared sometime between 2pm & 5pm.
As I had made contact with her I will forward scenting/general advice by email. She has the number for the local DW.
Plenty of posters are being done & distributed in the area.
