Sadly the microchip numbers don't match but Poppy's owner is very grateful to know people are still looking out for her.

A female chocolate Lab with a microchip that says her name is Poppy has been found by the RSPCA in Maidstone , they said poss around 9 years old. As the microchip says Poppy on it so I thought it could be your girl? I don’t know if you can copy & paste this link but it’s on the RSPCA Officials Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/p/CvLKU6pME_g/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I’ve got everything crossed for you 🐾🐾Last edited: 2023-07-27 21:03:37 by thedogfinder

Sharing this with anyone who has lost a chocolate lab as 4 dogs were found in Kent today think they could be stolen: https://www.facebook.com/swalestraydogs/photos/a.1556303891282395.1073741828.1556247534621364/1982305548682225/?type=3

Long shot as says elderly and no chip - but chips can move or be cut out and from my experience some dogs look older a long time b4 they actually are! https://www.petslocated.com/found-pets-list.php?pet=Dog#.WaZdLpOGM_X

Thank you Sarah, I must have been thinking of their first one to be stolen, Mable, ref no 39498.Then there was another last year and now Poppy. All 3 under a year old.
Sarah
Just wanted to mention there is an error on the lost date - says 2012 but obviously meant to be 2015. Also could the crime number be put on the post or in these comments bit?
sharon

All info has been given to the police and a CRN has been issued. Lots of reports of suspicious vehicle/person all being given to the police,
NickyB, the only advice I can give is to keep a close watch on your dogs at all times if they are in the garden. It is thought that whoever took Poppy must have climbed over the gate or fence.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Agreed Jo...if owner you have info please email to admin@doglost.co.uk and we can pass on to helpful policemen..ie dog owners..that CJ our police contact can action as she has spent 10 years getting together loads of contacts...and can help.
Jot cotswolds
It is no good tweeting to police and hoping they give it a crime number..you need to call them and report it properly with all that info. Twitter is not for reporting crime. If you have vehicle info get it reported properly so they can do something with it
NickyB
can u let us know how poppy was stolen from secure garden? I have 5 dogs and think my garden is secure - padlock on gates and electric entrance gates - but clearly in poppys case not safe. did they climb over a wall or fence or manage to unlock gate? it really worries me - as stealing is happening more and more. I hope with the help of doglost followers she will soon be home
Rose
Gorgeous girl hope you find her very soon x

I'm so pleased to see this post - I sent Owner's son a DM (went to 'others') last night with Facebook Groups / Lostbox links to share details to. He had already commented that DogLost were doing a poster - so much easier to share / Tweet now with a link which doesnt show details of owner / family
I tweeted late last night the details of this dog & the van & getting many kind RTs
Need to make her #2hot2handle
I also tweetd to @DorsetPolice - they really need to take this crime seriously, not simply 'not bother' & to take seriously the suspicious activity in the area.
There are comments about a white Iveco Van sighted at Lidl (photos can be seen) with a Black dog in it - & reports of dog whimpering
Reg. no. of the Iveco Van is on the family member's FB t/line so
WHY arent the Police 'bothered' !
They really should give a Crime Ref fopr this & make enquiries in the area - NO homes / dogs are safe if there is a suspicius man taking photos of houses !Last edited: 2015-08-02 00:06:55 by #stoppettheft

The owners had another puppy of the same age, breed and sex stolen around the same time last year so naturally feel they are being targeted, it was following the previous theft that they made the garden more secure. This was the first day since getting Poppy that they did not have a car parked on the driveway.

Shared twitter and Facebook , hope Poppy is found soon xx

Admin
Sorry to see that POPPY STOLEN is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (90208)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
