Good thing is its very mild with plenty of rabbits for food out there ......have you thought about going to your local newspapers? Do hope he gets home soon, also find a local Drone club and see if anyone will come out over the fields with you xx

One more point, Buster is a hell of a handful and requires exercise and food alot. I have left him with other people when I went away but all said they would rather not have him again unless it was an emergency. He is hyperactive even at his age. This makes me think that if someone found him and took him home they might not be able to handle him because he needs a lot of attention, food and exercise. Thanks again.

A couple of last points about Buster. He looks more intimidating than the photos suggest, which frightens some people. Also, he has a very thin coat of hair and gets cold easily. He hates rain. Also, he gets hungry fast and being hyperactive (when he is not asleep), could lose weight quickly.

Hi, 2 additional points: Buster is very friendly to people and always looking for a fuss but ignores other dogs. Not aggressive though. Also, he would often disappear into wooded areas looking for sticks. He easily could hang around any muddy, woody areas and be comfortable with it. So, I do not know if he would remain in the countryside or befriend people and go home with them.

Hi, I am Busters owner. I would like to say thanks for everybodies help and concern. I tried to log in to doglost but forgot password and the password reminder was being sent to my spam folder without my knowledge.

I have been out to the fields every day on my bike and accessed places which cannot be accessed by car.

Also, I have stopped other dog walkers and asked them to notify Stubbington Ark if they see Buster.

Buster does not know the north west corner of stubbington but does know the other surrounding areas because we have done many miles over the years, but usually to the beach. This means Buster does not know Fareham, Titchfield or Gosport areas but does know Stubbington and Hill head.

When I had a car he did walk browndown and gillkicker but they are far away and small areas.

If Buster leaves Stubbington fields then he is gone but if he remains in stubbington then he knows his way home if he crosses over to the haven side of titchfield road.

However he does not know the haven.

Had a drive around the back lanes behind the Stubbington Ark, lots of high crops at the moment, and a very quiet cemetary where he might hide out if scared, there's plenty of puddles from the rain, so he shouldn't be thirsty. Drove the Titchfield to Stubbington road, then both sides of Ranvilles Lane (lots of big long gardens on one side), and then Mays Lane to Stubbington, but didn't see anything.

The owner spoke to the Ark when Buster first went missing, but I will call them in the morning. Hopefully some posters have gone up in the area today....Buster's owner works during the day and doesn't have a car xx

Thank you for the update on the area, it's a huge area of fields, leading to Titchfield, and to Ranvilles Lane in Titchfield/Fareham area - popular dog walking areas, so he may be sighted by people. May also hang about around the Stubbington Ark, as they will have the scents of food whilst they are feeding their dogs. Worth emailing them a poster

I have just been speaking with Buster's owner. Buster went missing around 8pm last Wednesday. It was on the Titchfield to Stubbington Rd just before you get to Stubbington, by Stubbington Ark Kennels, he was spooked by thunder and ran towards the fields. It's very important that we get posters up around the area as Buster wasn't wearing an id tag....so that people know who to contact if they have seen Buster or taken him in. If anyone local can help with posters etc it would be very much appreciated. Barney is 9.5yrs and needs to be back home. Stay safe lovely boy xx

Stubbington is a large sprawling village, any information as to where he went missing might help narrow down a search area

• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
