Can I just add a huge thank you too....you've all been amazing and the help and support you offer is invaluable. We have been helping ex-strays with deep-rooted mental problems following years of abuse and ferals like Pyrrha for some years now so we have some experience of very scared dogs and their likely behaviour but your support was so welcome and the number of shares Pyrrha got was astounding and definitely instrumental in helping us to get her back safe; and for a less experienced owner you provide a wonderful support system which is completely unique. The DogLost team are responsible for saving thousands of lives every year and I'm sure every owner you have ever helped are eternally grateful to you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us to bring our girl home safe and well, thank you to everyone who shared her, looked for her, postered their areas and just supported us when we needed it most....and despite all the stress and worry we have managed to find some lovely new friends along the way! Thank you all....and especially from Pyrrha who was SO happy to be home with her family, ate a monster dinner and passed out. She is back to her cheeky self this morning, pinching the teatowel and romping with her brothers and sisters....I only wish she knew just how many people moved heaven and earth to get her back home....XXX

Thanks Paul Loader! Very interesting to know where Pyrrha had been during the time she was lost and I'm so glad that she managed to stay safe. I think you and your canine family did a fantastic job especially as Pyrrha is so feral. You are obviously very experienced in catching scared dogs as not many people would have been able to get her so quickly. Pyrrha is a very lucky girlie to have such dedicated and caring owners.
A very big well done to you.

I just wanted to thank everyone personally for helping us get Pyrrha home. To every volunteer who works so tirelessly for Doglost. We think what you do is bloody amazing and such a help in such a stressful time. So thank you and to everyone who her shared and followed her plight.
Ok for anyone that would like to know Pyrrha left us and ran down to Tarring Road where she then proceeded to thankfully go over a bridge crossing the railway line. From there she ran up some alleyways until she reached Tarring gate and then she must have crossed the Thomas a Becket junction as she was seen the following morning on the Findon Road. From there she made her way up to Cissbury and no doubt looked for us on the walks we enjoyed up there.
I never found out she had been there til 12 hours which is where we spent the night looking. This am the further sighting told us she had left Cissbury and was on her way back home towards us. Which would mean crossing the train tracks again. Thankfully after putting up loads more posters this am we were called to say a lady had seen her 3 hours previously in the graveyard on SOuth Farm Road. We rushed there and I always lost hope when we got almost all the way round til I saw one of our dogs sprint off ahead. She came running out and kissed all 3 dogs we had taken as a search party.
She was very hungry and tired but thank goodness all in one piece.

I've just had it confirmed that Pyrrha has been found. She is ok and very, very happy to see her family!
Well done Titch Bird for finding her so quickly. You are obviously very experienced at caring for feral and other dogs. So glad that she stayed away from the roads and railway.

New sighting just reported - 4pm yesterday beside the golf course, seen running down towards First Avenue....so she could be heading for home again.....
I wish she'd keep away from these main roads :(

I'm Paul's other half and Pyrrha's mum....we are taking the sighting on the A24 seriously, as if the other sighting that she ran down and crossed Jacob's Ladder is correct, then if she followed the alleyways in a straight line she would have come out at Tarring Gate, so Thomas a Becket, the cemetary roundabout and the sighting north of the Jet garage would be credible. She was seen on the NORTHWEST side of the A24 at 8am which means to get to Cissbury she would have to cross the road. She is very familiar with Cissbury and spent a couple of hours there most days - it's the place we felt she would head for if she had a choice. If she didn't cross the road however and headed northwest instead then she might have found her way to The Gallops/No-Mans-Land (where The Gallops joins Mill Lane) or West Hill/Honeysuckle Lane. She's not familiar with the Gallops but she knows West Hill and Honeysuckle well also. I tried them all in the early hours of this morning but no sign of her, and Paul was on Cissbury all night. Paul postering all the car parks around Cissbury this morning and we will do the other places this afternoon in the hope of a new sighting so at least we know where to look. Thank you everyone for all your help - the response has been incredible and we are so very grateful for all the support xxx

Paul Loader: I'm sorry to see that Pyrrha is missing and has not been found yet. However, it's good to hear that you have had a sighting of her.
I have emailed you with some extra advice which may help you with your search.
I have shared to Doglost South East, Doglost West and East Sussex pages and well as my page. I have also seen that Brighton Dogwatch have posted on their page too. They are always a great help with dogs missing in the area. Please keep an eye on there for any new sightings.

If there are any particlular places where you walk Pyrrha then she may go to these as she will feel more comfortable somewhere that's familiar to her.
Most important are posters as this is how you will get more sightings. You can print them direct from the poster page on here. Large ones for telegraph poles, shops and public places etc. Then reduce to A5 size (saves on paper & ink) for posting through letter boxes and giving to everyone that you meet whilst searching.

I am bumping the page for the sighting in Findon Road.
I hope you have get more news of Pyrrha and that she will be back with you very soon.

I've just had a first sighting reported to me as it happened. Pyrrha was seen on the corner of Heene/Tarring Road at the pedestrian bit going over Jacobs ladder. Did she manage to fit under first step or go over onto Becket/Pavillion junction, Lanfranc Road?

Pyrrha is a very timid, previously feral dog who lived untouched by humans for 4 years so people calling for her or disturbing her where she is hiding will drive her into a run and she could end up anywhere. For this reason we ask please that the most important thing is a sighting; and if you do see her please call us immediately but don't try to call or catch her. We desperately need more publicity for her so if anyone has the means to print her poster and display it in their house window or car, or can spare time to poster their neighbourhood we'd be eternally grateful.
