As she was loose when in season, lets hope she gets to the vet for a mis-mate jab & then a spay in 2.5/3months ;)

Any news?

Fantastic news, hope she is kept safe this time x

WOOFINA HAS BEEN FOUND, BUT WE ARE AWAITING FURTHER DETAILS...
Observant Citizen
I have just received a lovely email from Victoria, Woofina's original finder...

Hello thanks for making contact!

Woofina is still missing. Duncan the
gardener has been keeping in touch. I gave him the south oxfordshire
dog warden number to call but have not heard from him since. He is
asking around and has been looking.

I have sent details to the cookley
Green parish chairman to pass the details round. She is known to the
vet in Watlington, The veterinary Centre in Henley (where I took her on
Sunday) and I notified Larkmead vet, my own vet. I have spoken to a
couple of professional dog walkers and friends in the area by sending
texts with photos.

She is such a lovely friendly, a little timid when
I managed to get her. With the horrible wet nights we are having she
will be very soggy and miserable I would think.

She is in season so
possibly will be looking for a mate. However she is known to wander.

As seems to have been taken when first found to henley vets who scanned according to a post here could admin not email the veterinary centre and ask if they could help identify the breed. Their email is info@henley-vets.co.uk

Whatever the breed I would have to change the person who is/was looking after this dog in the absence of owners!

Throwing my penny worth in I would say Briard too. Similar to friend's ones when clipped and colour, fluffy tail looks right for one too. Although possibly a cross as might be a bit of a curlier coat than pure Briard.Last edited: 2015-08-24 23:37:30 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

update email from finder...
Hello
I am just giving you an update about this dog I found
yesterday....

I took her to The Veterniary Centre in Henley, she was
micro chipped and I was told to leave her there. I contacted them later
to see if she had returned home but unfortunately they were unable to
make contact with the owners, but had been in touch with the vet.

This
morning the gardener made contact with me, as I had left a message at
their residence where I thought I had seen her previously, to say that
he would be collecting Woofina from the vet shortly. The owners are
away.

However this afternoon he text me to say is has gone off again.

So my point in this email is to say she is now LOST.
lesleyjane
Has she been scanned yet?
susieq666
She's gorgeous. Someone must surely be missing her.
NickyB
brilliant photos - vital to identify any dog but especially when its difficult to say who mum and dad were......
linny
Do we get a prize? lol my guess would be wheaton x poodle.
She's a gorgeous girl...hope she goes home soon.

Hi, Could this be Izzy? Dog ID 82954. xx
Gill
I too think this could be soft coated Wheaton, though I do have to say in my 39yrs as a canine beautician I was frequently asked to trim 1st crosses like this in the summer, and more like a brearded, in the winter.Ps I do not think its a breaded.Airdale ?

Hollieberry
Otterhound a possibility
mardyscot
Awww I think she looks fabulous! Having initially said a Soft Coated Wheaten I'm actually swaying towards a Briard too. Colour is wrong for a Schnauzer and we regularly walk a Giant, it just doesn't look like one to me. I'd love her, I think she looks great!

Judging by the relative size of the water bowl to the tiles I would say they are 12" ties which would make this not a small dog...One thing we can all agree on...she is definitely having a bad hair day!
Tashaht
Looks like a 'Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier' to me. However I can't tell the size of the dog :/
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Have to say the hair above the eyes looks like an owner has cut it. Looks to have a nice fluffy tail. My guess poodle x airedale
AlisonH
My friend has 2 Labradoodles and they look very similar to this when he has clipped their coats. They often get mistaken for Spinones. Could also be a Giant Schnauzer.
ClaireC
I say Spinone or Spinone cross. Strangely enough just seen one today whilst on a walk and looks very similar!
Tormor
In my opinion, not a Spinone or Briard(not heavy enough bone or body)...looks not too dis-similar to a Schnauzer. How a dog is clipped can make it look quite different, even of the same breed ;) I do think it may very well be a cross & would fo with the suggestion of Airedale/Giant Schnauzer..Last edited: 2015-08-23 16:17:31 by Tormor
Rose
Gorgeous girl, someone surely must be looking for her. Hope she gets home very soon x
Karis
giant schnauzer?
Unknown
Looks like an Italian Spinone to me. Not heard of the Briard breed
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
I have a Briard & facially it looks very similar. They usually ( but not always ) have a little hook at the end of the tail.( my current one doesn't!) The coat looks a little curly for a Briard, could be a Briard cross.
Michele
I would say its a Briard clipped short.
skyninchar
Italian Spinone? Beautiful dog
lesleyjane
Hope this one is chipped, she is lovely! If you have a Pets at Home nearby they sometimes have a scanner, or try local rescue homes who will have one. If not chipped, contact local groomers as she has obviously been clipped recently.
digbysmum
Sorry - no idea, but she is lovely! Hope an owner soon claims xxx
Esther
Otter hound ?
LYDNSYD
Difficult to tell from the photo - my friend has a Briard and when it has a hair cut it looks similar. I'm sure someone must be looking for her.
Can you put up FOUND Posters in the are you found her and if you have a Neighbour Hood Watch co-ordinator for your area they can notify everyone in the vicinity
lizziemont
would say there is irish wolfhound in there, and maybe briard, the grey could account for wolfhound and size

Tx Ladies....
mathers22
Possibly some Airedale, or Italian Spinone - basically I think the same as comments below xx
Hollieberry
If it is quite a large dog I would suggest a recently trimmed Italian Spinone not sure I spelt that correctly .
Bo
I just googled Airedale cross and beardie cross which threw up similar looking dogs in both searches. Then as a little schnauzer looking I tried schnauzer cross airedale which gave the most similar as yet. Last edited: 2015-08-23 09:26:34 by Bo

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier? Poodle mix possibly too
