Fantastic news!!!! Well done everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen, I hope you are mot all too tired to celebrate tonight. As for Bella's condition, the outdoor life obviously suited her but no need to try it again. X

Wonderful news no more roaming for you Bella xxx

She's in amazing condition considering she's been living off her wits in the Devonshire countryside for six weeks! There are some really lovely photos over on her facebook page :)

Thnks walkers - I've passed your message on
walkers
walked through woods to peppercombe today and back up the woodland path to Northway no sign of her no movement in the woods.Do think it would be a good idea to get posters up in Peppercombe as holiday cottages there with people staying who might spot her,the coastal path from Clovelly and Bucks Mills comes right along here so she could wander this way,I know this area well as grew up there so if need help please feel free to contact.

Thanks GeoffA. There has been a request on Bellas page for anyone either catching sight of Bella, or seeing a post on fb elsewehere to immediately post "SIGHTING and tag an admin on the page" but NO DETAILS, due to the major problems last night of well-meaning people turning up in cars having seen a post on another site which was neither phoned in (above numbers) nor posted to Bella's page. Failing all that, just phone the Doglost number, it will be passed through. There was a sighting, but no chance of finding her as she disappears so quickly at the first hint now - and the worry is she may be pushed further away or into the traffic.

Female collie cross found Rilla Mill (ID 92363) - a long way away but could be worth checking with Cornwall Dog Warden 0300 1234 212 option 2, or emergency option out of hours (comment received from Tracy Parkyn via DOGLOST CORNWALL fb page).

Update 2015-09-24: The Rilla Mill Collie Cross (92363) is back with its owner.Last edited: 2015-09-24 19:30:46 by GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland

Hi the sighting on 19th was also reported via her facebook page and thoroughly investigated but sadly no trace of her by then. Huge team of people now working on this one :)

Deb, if you join the Please Help Find Bella page, you can offer your help. Mostly I believe they need spotters for sightings. There is a team co-ordinating sightings and follow-ups, but asking that people only report a sighting and don't try to catch, or call, or feed Bella as she is pretty skittish now and skidaddles at the first sign of 'danger'. I am not too clear what is happening myself but understand there is a 'plan' in place. Jayne - thanks for the info, I think the Morwenstow dog has been discounted as a local farm dog in the area, I had a walk around the local trails yesterday but there is now a post stating it is reunited. Anyone driving the A39 between Clovelly and Bideford Bay please try to keep the speed down, I came through tonight at a slow pace and did not see anything myself, though I see now that there has been a possible sighting around half-hour after I was there. There was a 'false alarm' around the same area a few days ago though, all I can say is keep cameras armed and ready - and fingers crossed for good news soon.Last edited: 2015-09-17 22:56:25 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Just to say I know Bellas owners are not local and if I can do any thing to help, this not too far from me and I am happy to be of assistance . Really hoping for good news . Deb x
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
A lady has rung in to say she has seen a similar dog on FB about 10 miles away with a request for the dogs owners as a couple are feeding the dog...this is in the morwenstow area...left message for owner with contact details.
Deb
Could 91855 found in Bude possibly be Bella? So hoping for good news .

My worry is so many people looking will fright her off hope shes home soon

Possible sighting tonight loose dog in Hartland (possibly Harton Cross) this afternoon. Very worrying if she has been sent in that direction by the Field Work with Tractors today in the fields she is believed to have been sheltering. Really need local people on the lookout round Hartland way to confirm or eliminate. But so far she has shown she will come back close to ... and with the scenting and bbq tonight hoping she will come back again. Thanks Deb for your help.Last edited: 2015-09-25 22:54:37 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Deb
Hi Fergal
Read and understood .i am in Bideford about 2 miles from the campsite , I will drive that road a few times over the weekend and of course let you know if I see anything.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Sorry Deb just noticed your post. They are trying to keep scents to a minimum and people away from her, but still need sightings, so have asked that those cruising in cars continue to look for her along the road, and look into the fields if possible and if safe to do so. Where are you coming from? They have scented the area thoroughly and hope to bring her in to that, and then keep her there with food, and away from that road. Then the long job of getting her confidence enough to catch or even trap her. Hopefully it won't take so long. Actually there is a spot which was found today near Clovelly which has a wonderful view across the fields up to the caravan parked at the site. Powerful binoculars would help at that point (its on the map) and any sighting phoned in. That would be really helpful.Last edited: 2015-09-25 22:55:51 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Hi I am not far and have been following Bellas story what help. Is there anything I can do to help?
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Owners wife is coming. This comment from husband just put on Bella's fb page:

"my wife is goin to the camp site and wait for who ever wants to go and meet her next to the old caravan she is in a black Vauxhall Zafera 7 seater wv10 first bit of number plate please share and like so she can get help to help u guys xxd"

The caravan is shown on the map link below under the first marker in list
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Latest sightings: 7pm last night (2/9) in field ... on the A39, then ... this morning, also A39, 8.30am. Worried she is carrying on South which will take her across the Devon/Cornwall Border just past Hartland. Have posted her Doglost Page to Doglost Cornwall for people to keep an eye out for her if that is the case. First real town past Hartland (Devon) will be Kilkhampton (Cornwall) along the A39 which she seems to be using a lot unfortunately.

Fergal - The first thing I asked my sister was which part of Clovelly it was, but she didn't think to ask and she doesn't personally know the 2 ladies who were talking about Bella. I will ask her if she sees them around again to ask the questions. She is coming home on Friday. So hopefully will get more info before then. I have joined the Please help find Bella group and will mention it to the owners. xx
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Paula could you ask you sister to call the owner on one of the above numbers please, so she can give him some details? Who she spoke to, did they mention where in Clovelly? I suppose it could have been the cottages at the top at Dyke Green, Higher Clovelly (opposite Garage), as she has been sighted pretty close today and yesterday. Thanks for posting XXX

Matt & Karina, it might be worth some door knocking, so many people are helping you, one or more could be chosen to do that and report back. Might prevent a lot of sore feet for them (and prevent bothering householders too much). Would explain the trips along the A39 wouldn't it?. Don't forget the flyers - plenty of people don't use fb ... Good Luck xx SueLast edited: 2015-09-03 01:31:20 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

I spoke to my sister who is still on a break at the camp and I've kept mentioning Bella's story to her, and she spoke to some ladies who said that Bella has been in Clovelly over the last day or 2 and was being fed when they saw it. So she won't be hungry. Not sure if it's on the walk down or the village.

Thank you TB. There has been another sighting on the road tonight, lots of people looking for her but have mostly now had to go home. Hope she finds a safe place for the night X Thanks you too Jenny4 - so very right, and thanks for posting Beke's number, she brought me right up to date last night, poor thing I think I woke her up, but she was great. A trap is of no use at this present moment in time as she is still covering quite a large area .......a feeding station needs to be established first and get her to keep to one area .I have already explained this on facebook to the Bella Page......they must not chase her if they see her or she is going to keep going,Remember she is a collie who can run a lot of miles a day with ease , the main thing is not to chase her onto the main road
TB
Shared with bearded collie club, beardie rescue have a trap keeper listed in the exeter area. Last edited: 2015-09-02 19:12:25 by TB

Can you put it on for me please Vickijw? Or post the DL link to page. I don't use fb. Thanks XX EDIT:(Don't worry Vickijw I have reinstated my account, so will join page now and put it on)

I have spoken to the Dog Warden who have not got her but assure me they are very aware of her and were even out in the area yesterday. Pete Dryland is standing in for the Warden at the moment (01237 428810) but obviously has the whole of Torridge to cover. Torbridge Vets (01237 472075) Bideford and also Penbode in Bude (01288 359500) act as Receiving Centres for the Dog Warden if she is picked up. Finally I have been asked to say please call the Police 101 number if she is seen on the road again, as soon as possible. Still no luck finding a trap though, trying more numbers.Last edited: 2015-09-02 11:21:20 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

There is now a specific facebook page set up to help find Bella https://www.facebook.com/groups/422116054638728/422248677958799/?notif_t=group_activity.Not sure if your map is on there, can't see it!

I was on the camp over night and normally a complete night owl when home and normally easily awake at that time. What a shame I was actually asleep at a decent hour. :'( Unfortunately I had to come back home to near Bath otherwise I could have kept an eye open. Fingers crossed she will be caught soon
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Yes, I am hoping that it won't be abused, but have done it to get the sightings logged and a possible route mapped. Beke said Bella sat by the caravan for around 4 hrs from 5am yesterday. Beke is a family friend who lives here, but works in the day. Great that posters are up though. I do not have a trap but will make some calls tomorrow to see if there is one we might borrow. Also some clothing of owners, or their hoover bag contents to leave with it would help. They have already done some scenting around the caravan. Unfortunately I will be away next week, so really hoping Bella can be gently encouraged to safety this week. Best if seen to just let her see you drop food, back away and stay low. The food already left out has not been touched, although I am not sure where, but I imagine she is just too frightened at the moment.Last edited: 2015-09-25 23:02:53 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

Fergal - I've used a similar map before so hopefully people can understand it fully and only genuine sightings put on. I haven't heard that Bella returned to the camp, but would think they would allow a trap if you contacted them. Seen posters all around the camp and local shops.
DogLostFergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
Thank you Paula Hookings seems we posted at the same time. I have put a map link on for sightings, just hope people will can get their heads round it, it's not too difficult. Need to get those sightings logged. I think there are other people helping but am thinking a monitored trap at the caravan (or as close as possible and with permission from Bideford Bay) would be a good start, especially as she was seen there for so long yesterday. It would need to be monitored so a rota of people willing to help would be great.
Paula Hookings
Fergal - The owners were staying at ...
as I was there and met the owners earlier on the site after they came back from searching all morning to contact all vets / rescues in the area. I spoke to one of the owners and they are getting conflicting information from sightings, but checking on them. They were having to come back today because they have children that needed to get back for school. Sounds like from earlier comments there is someone who is still able to help if you wanted to contact them to see if they would like help - 2015-09-01 18:28 DogLostjenny4 - Area Co-ordinator, West Hampshire

This map may help with tracking her movements. To insert a sighting click on 'insert marker' (the hand), then click on the balloon marker and place it where sighting was. I have put in the first two that I know (have spoken to Beke). Then edit with a description, date & time.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zr_MgEjUbjcE.kTrEP6FUeBdI (EDIT: Map disabled for Bella's and searcher's security)

Markers can be edited, just click on it and edit. I've left Point 3 (the Clovelly field sighting) to be edited, just delete what I have written and replace with description. And move it to where the sighting was (zoom the map if necessary)Last edited: 2015-09-25 23:08:21 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

HGlab - do you know where abouts on the Clovelly Estate? or a contact for who saw her? If she was at ... today and then headed toward ... and ... then she is very close to where she went missing if it was .... Is anyone checking the actual place she was lost? Where was that? Is the camp site ...?, or perhaps ...? I have driven the area yesterday and today but not seen anything at the times I was there (went down to ... around 8.30pm last night and again tonight). If I can help please phone me (contact Admin) (also has anyone got a trap which could be borrowed in the area), I would be willing to help to keep a watch over it if we could get some others on board. Last update on a facebook page said she has been spotted around the .. area and surrounding farms and also near ... but no one has managed to get hold of her. I've spoken to our postman who also covers that area and he's going to ask his colleagues to keep an eye out for her. Fingers crossed Max. I did see a comment on one of the shares that there was a possible sighting earlier at the Tarka Trail. Not confirmed if that was her. Hope they are reunited before they have to return home for kids to go back to school. :(

I am fairly certain the Clovelly Estate owned some of the woodland in that area, The Estate Office may be able to alert their estate workers to look out for her.

Hopefully you have been able to get plenty of posters up as still lots of holiday makers/walkers in area.Last edited: 2015-08-29 11:17:03 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
