Thank you so much for posting this Their Paws In Our Hands, I have also asked the group not to continue searching for fear of moving Ellie out of her "Safe Space". For this reason I think it best not to report sightings publicly, they need to be reported direct to her owners and yourself. I too have been blocked for asking them not to continue searching the area.

Niki, yes we are still actively searching for Ellie, along with another rescue service and we are in touch with the owner; who IS still searching and would love Ellie to be home! We have identified where to set up feeding stations and have a trap ready to place once we can identify the best place to put it.
We understand that the aforementioned group are planning a search for Sunday and we would beg anyone intending to go to PLEASE NOT!! This is not because we don't want Ellie found, just the opposite!! Ellie is a very nervous dog who will bolt from people! Catching her requires patience, planning and perseverance! Scaring her may result in her moving from frequented areas and all the work done to date will be for nothing!! She will also lose the known food and water places which she would have to be relying on and could result in her death, especially as she will lose any sheltered areas she has been losing too!! If this group had contacted us instead of blocking us and anybody associated with the owners from their page, then they could have had access to our knowledge and materials! The only reason the owners do not want people to donate to Ellie is because they are aware of the countless scams on social media to extract money from kind-hearted people. Any resources needed for Ellie they are able to fund themselves, and had they been consulted they could have made these items available already!

Their paws in our hands you were on this as soon as Ellie went missing you wrote you were going out to search straight away and I can understand how Ellie must be deep in your heart as she was probably the first search you done As their paws in our hands when you run such a lovely group for your area can you please confirm weather or not you have been asked to stop by the owners or weather Your just going ahead anyway and are you legally allowed to do that? Niki I understand your comment and maybe so what true. But these people have been the ones out and day and night and even are now while the owners aren't. They have given up. Their paws in our hands it's up to people what they spend their money on. They are not being mislead to where the money is going. If someone told me to stop donating my money to rescues what's it to do with them? End of the day I am all for the dogs and I would do anything or buy anything I could to give me more of a chance that's all I'm saying

We are still actively searching for Ellie. Hayz, I have left you a comment on a post on Facebook. You are not aware of the facts in this matter and people should not be raising money behind the owners backs. If they want to raise money for night vision goggles then they should raise it for an existing organisation that actively searches for missing pets and would be able to coordinate their use to maximise the use from them. While they are doing this, we could do with a night and heat vision drone. This would actually be more helpful.

I think this depends on the chances that the one person wearing the night vision goggles actually sees Ellie in the first place and then what they do about it because the chances of her just running up to people will be pretty low after all this time that's what owners meant by feral. £200 night vision goggles would not be very clear to spot a dog you'd be better off with a torch.
Also if I lost my dog and someone said let's start a just giving page to get money off strangers to help find your dog i wouldn't feel right about that as kind as the thought is.

6) Ellie if she is still alive out there is no longer a domesticated dog, she is a wild animal like a fox so it's pointless putting those emotions and feeling out there for her. And incidentally she doesn't have a phone or a Facebook account and can't read or write, so can't see everyone's pleas to "please come home" . I agree with Poochpal and Nik if you have not had dealings with dogs on the loose before you will be unaware how fast they turn feral .....it is a survival mode in all domestic animals ......once captured they will revert as stated in the post below... it is a very hard thing when you lose a pet in this way and very frustrating in trying to capture them espicially when they are moving around so much ..it is only with time and patience they get reunited ..I think we all agree that the Owners are doing the best they can , but until there is a sighting they have to hang fire.... I respect Ellie's owners wishes to be distanced from the all engulfing search for Ellie and as Nik has posted below, they will continue to hope that she will be found and reunited with them one day. The description of Ellie being feral is in no way an indication that they no longer want her, a loyal family pet can become feral within days or even hours of being lost. It happens when fear triggers the survival instinct, this does not mean that it will be a permanent state, many dogs will revert to family pet within minutes once safe with their family. Chasing and trying to catch extends and reinforces the feral state.

I agree that everyone who has donated on the just giving page should be informed so that they can make a descision as to weather they would like there money back that is the honest thing to do and to not use Ellie's name unless owner gives new permission to do so or informed otherwise.
Do not judge Ellie's owners unless you've lost a dog yourself for a long period of time because then you'll know and understand how stressful it is and others help is great but can become very overwhelming. The stress and worry of losing a dog and it's all your focusing on can affect other areas of your life and other people in it and so you have to at some point try to move forward without letting go they will live in hope that they are reunited with Ellie. Please respect other people's privacy and descisions their dog not anyone else's.

People have decided to donate as Ellie family has given up in fact called her fereal now. They have decided to inform people after knowing people were going to raise funds that they had night vision goggles but funny enough only disclosed it after. We can confirm that an unofficial Just Giving page has been set up to raise funds for equipment to be used in the search for Ellie. This was done without the knowledge or consent of the owners. Ellie's owners do not need funds and are confident that her chip and microchip will reunite her in the course of time. We are bumping Ellie's page to make people aware of the situation and also to remind people that she is still missing.

I don't know anyone personally but I would imagine if you contacted a local shooting club/ field sports group, they may be able to point you in the right direction. I would guess some farmers may use them for shooting foxes, rabbits etc?

Tiga has been tracking Ellie today and has confirmed a number of sightings and indicated that some of the scent was fresh. Tiga tracked from one of the sightings back to the field next to the house that she went missing from 3 months ago!
Unfortunately we couldn't. Track from the last sighting as there were some

Hi it's Sunday and yesterday I had a phone call from the rspca shop in BurnhAm a person had come in who had seen a very thin golden labradour in Highbridge between the train line and motorway near the industrial estate not isle port but the other side forgotten the name
We went there yesterday and stayed until 9 but no sight of Ellie
They said they were on holiday and it was 9 at night ish when they saw the lab they put food down I guess they went back for that as can't imagine you would be walking round an industrial estate at 9 at night with a tin of dog food on your holidays
They said the food had gone I guess the next day but this is all I have on this
Fingers crossed but it could be hopefull or just another dog as fireworks were going like mad last night

Hi Julia, the add I put on the lost and found section didn't have Ellie's picture,might be worth speaking to a reporter that covers that area asking to write a short story with a picture, I think the Bridgwater mercury covers burnham area, I am sure with the length of time she has been missing they will be sympathetic and willing to help.

Please keep your eyes peeled for Ellie especially if you are out and about in the Brent Knoll area or even Highbridge or Burnham on Sea, Berrow or Brean. If someone has taken her in believing they are being kind then they need to understand that Ellie should be with her win family who love her and miss her every day.

Hey hun a friend of mine has contacted me after seeing this recent facebook campaign to find Ellie her children attend Brent Knoll school. About 3 weeks ago cant be precise but possibly could have seen her. This was the exact place here is her message

Yes I can I was driving from the school in the direction of the post office and the dog went from the school side other to the other side which is a side road. 1st one on the left from the school will find out the name ASAP yes deffo after the 19th of Sep. It wasn't running it was like a gentle jog type walk!!!! Xx

not sure if the dog belongs to the house i saw it at but thought i would post anyway. driving along harp road in Mark there was a small labrador going through the bins outside, this side of their fence. the house is about half way along, they keep horses. didn't have a collar on tho, sorry couldn't stop but will look again next time i am in the area

I went to the services at about 1pm today to see if there was any sign... There wasn't but it was very busy there.... I'm thinking if she is now nervous of people as Jenny advised below she will probably avoid busy times. I will continue to keep an eye out. Would it be worth giving a poster or flyer to all businesses and farmers in the area where she might be feeding/ hiding out?

I will try and be there at 12 on Friday. I looked around the back of the services and through East Brent up to Ralph's Wood at about 10.30am this morning, still no sighting. Do you think Ellie has gone into 'hiding' mode? And maybe she only roams at certain times of the day? Is there anything more I can do? X

Hi Julia I have been following your story of Ellie each day hoping you've had some good news. My son works at Dunball and many of his colleagues travel or live in the East Brent area. So he has spread the word to them to keep a look out for her. Last week a poster went up in our village (Monkton Heathfield) to say dog found. I know it's a distance away but checked it out just in case. Springer spaniel. I have shared Ellie's poster on my fb page. As a dog loving person myself I really hope you get some good news soon X

I drove up through east Brent and through to rookery manor then on to rooksbridge at 2pm today but no sign in the fields... Lots of cover though for a dog to hide in. Will continue to look and cross my fingers for some good news soon.

Jenny who tracks lost dogs thinks that it's unlikely that some one has taken her as she would be very hard to catch after 4 or 5 days as the become very timid quite quickly after being lost
She went missing on 29 th August the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend so I hope she is ok x

I saw either the mother black cat but was small so could be an older kitten, but on a previous Ellie watch I saw a black kitten about 6-8 weeks old by the main entrance to the food and toilet place. It darted into the bush to the left of the entrance. X

Hi Jerry C sorry I wasn't clear the black dog was a dog walker not a stay dog just people are walking there too and I think that is how the dog paw prints are in the sand as well as the little black cat
Will post on Facebook the map of all the sightings on so people can see where she has been
The dog rescue people say they tend to go anti clockwise in a triangle repeating there way
So could be at any of the other sites now
I'm going to try and keep putting food down all this week as well at the services as the little cat has just had kittens and I don't mind if she is eating it x

Have you tried another dog in the field behind yet? Or are you just waiting for your scent dog? I have a beagle I can walk around, he's never been used for this, but certainly catches scents. Have held off doing this in case confusing the scents. There seems to be cattle in the field now also from when I looked yesterday.

There is a small product on the market for around £70 + £3 month, called tractive gps. Its a small gps tracker for dogs...Could be hidden in a toy with some treats,left at the feeding station encouraging Ellie to take it away with her, allowing you to use the software or smart phone to track the item. Just a small hopefully helpful suggestion.

Had a good scan of the fields behind services this eve, between east Brent and beyond rookery manor. Ventured into a piece of Westland, and a small area of wood chipping a where there seemed to have some dry shelter...but still no sighting or evidence. Again will keep looking.

The food put down last night has gone
Will be back 7 tomorrow morning and will put the food under a towel to stop flies and crows but dogs can still smell and eat
Doing a drag on Thursday morning in areas Ray recommended to a feed station
Then will repeat the drag every few days
K9 are ready to go as soon as we get a fresh sighting in less than 15 hours preferably in the fields by the services as less footfall
Feeling very hopeful that Ellie will be home even if it takes a while x

If we were sure of where to do a drag it would be good but area still not known
The smell of food from the services can be smelt fields away so barbaque not really main food smell but set one up last night anyway

Popped down to the services around dusk tonight... No sighting for me but several other people searching the bushes with torches so I presume they are looking for Ellie. What a relief to have a more recent sighting of Ellie, even though it was over a week ago this must be good news. The smells of food from the services must be keeping her close by. In case anyone is not aware, if you do see Ellie, try not to rush up to her in case it "spooks" her into running - act like a submissive dog by keeping low & don't make eye contact, but try to tempt her in slowly with food- good luck, x

Julia Woodward, do you have access to a trap? It would need to be watched at all times including overnight because of potential theft, so it can be a major project trapping a dog. But it is quite possible.

I live quite local and am keeping an eye out as I drive to work and back - have there been any recent sightings? I can divert on an afternoon off and have a look. Also have you looked at this ladies website K9tracker.co.uk. I think her beagle has been successful at finding dogs where there's more than 9 hours since sighted... Might be worth a shot. Hope you get some good news soon

I did not notice the posters in the services, east brent seemed well covered though. Maybe a really silly suggestion, but Polo Aviation in congresbury do pleasure helicopter fligts from £80 which is relatively local and possibly cover that area. Just another idea. Really hope she shows up soon.

The lab at Chilton Trinity was not Ellie she is stil lost

Myself (Homeward Bound and #FindUKdogs) and my daughter plus Tracy from Their Paws in Our Hands (who I am Admin with on there also) literally searched from 7pm 3rd Sept in Highbridge then met you at East Brent as you know and never left until 10 am 4th Sept in the morning we searched the area over the night right through to light we cannot document a positive sighting ourselves however we are aware there was one sighting on the hill there was also fresh dog poo in an area where we would normally expect none we went down church road and drove into the old school area then carried on where the area was gravelled and there was fresh poo there over freshly cut grass that had been cut the day before so if the sighting on the hill was a positive one then she came inbound to the bottom area overnight where we were in case she run down at around 9.30 am and was hopefully sighted running the hill around 9 am. During the night we went to the service station, we went to every single field we set a trail of treats that were eaten quite early (but could have been foxes) There were no fatalities of dogs on motorways nearby We saw lots of people searching for Ellie in the early out of the morning your MIL we saw at 5am, we saw neighbourhood policeman early hours too..if she is in East Brent she can only be field area now. I think its time for a scent dog next have you got any contacts or would you like us to enquire into this? Thank you Paula.

We looked for Ellie again both yesterday morning and again last night but no signs of her and the food etc we left for her haven't been touched. We're thinking that perhaps she's moved somewhere else. We've not had any more sightings since Monday evening at 11pm.

Just to clarify that Ellie has NOT been found and there have been no more sightings. It was a different dog that had been found. We're still looking for her!

Hi everyone, Tracy here, we are meeting at the Recycling Plant on the Industrial Estate off Isleport Roundabout on the A38 at Highbridge at 11pm tonight. The reason we are meeting so late is that traffic will have died down by then and because there is less noise voices will travel further. Ellie bolted from out of a hedge last night and ran towards the Isleport roundabout. We couldn't even coax her to us as she had no intention of stopping! She may have continued travelling but as this was the last place she was seen and she seems so afraid this is where we need to begin. I'm hoping that she has remained in the area and is favouring the empty fields around the car boot site. There is more chance that she will come out at night than in the day if she is afraid. We have been donated some Tripe and fish oils to tempt her and her owners voices with that should bring her in if she is local to that area. If you are travelling in to help with the search please check slowly along the A38 calling her name as this may alert her to listening more intently. If anyone has a gas canister for a small portable gas ring we need one as mine has run out!! Otherwise we are back to basics and girl guides methods ;)

From what I can gather the owners are away but she was being looked after when she managed to run away. Help is needed in the area she is thought to be in the fields nearby.
