- Please do not share a Lost or Found dog before the photo has been uploaded.
Facebook stores the image that it's going to use the first time the page is shared. After that, each time that page is shared, it will use the stored image. So if the page is shared before a dog photo has been uploaded, FB store the 'photo unavailable' image - and keep using that every time the page is shared after that, even after the dog photo has been uploaded. - 2015-09-08 17:40 Mollychops

- We are promised by owners that the photo will come shortly...however this usually stretches into hours..before photo arrives...we do stress the importance of sending to us immediately...the reason we ask people not to share is because of FB...if no photo on when first shared this is what shows even when we put photo on site...this generates lots of emails to admin saying they cannot see the photo...which slows admin down.

- Waiting on a photo of an easy to recognise dog is surely wasting time getting the loss of the dog out there into social media? Newnham is a small place but with a very busy A road. Surely speed of information sharing is more important than hours of waiting for a photo. A weimaraner in that area will stand out like a sore thumb..very recognisable in an area with few of that breed about. Speed of sharing the information is the key with social media.
