- As it has been five years today since the fire at Manchester dogs home, where 60 dogs perished., I would like to pay tribute to all concerned. Also remembering the three men, Dan. Darren, and Jason who risked their own lives to save 45 dogs. Bravery personified. .
God Bless all the dogs who perished and are now playing happily at Rainbow bridge. x Last edited: 2019-09-12 07:48:19 - 2015-10-07 13:09 Unknown

- Sorry for the delay, having issues with technology! All the dogs did manage to find forever homes, and a few have been in to visit since, also a few have become TV stars! Sadly we lost Sandy a few months later due to another illness, but all recovered well. Once again, a HUGE thankyou to all. xxx

- this terrible night could have been even worse if it wasn't for those brave young men Jason and dean. as someone with 5 rescued very much loved dogs its heartbreaking that so many poor dogs died that night all waiting for someone to give them a new life. I wish we didn't need any dogs homes and all dogs were loved and wanted forever

- It still feels as raw as a year ago. I have been wondering how MCDH have been getting on. Hopefully there have been some new facilities built with the funds raised. Good luck for the future.

Tomorrow will be a year on from the most upsetting time in the history of the Dogs Home. A year ago tomorrow 60 of our beloved dogs perished. Only due to the overwhelming support from you all have we got through this past year. Tomorrow night we will be asking you to hug a hound in the memory of our dogs that passed away. - 2015-09-11 00:04 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
