- Jacquie, Pacer's owner would like to thank the tremendous effort everybody has put in to searching and postering for Pacer, however as there has been no sightings of Pacer Jacquie has asked for the search to be scaled down.
There are still posters up in the area and if a sighting is called in to HQ we will contact Jacquie.

- Yes please, could we know what time of day, what other dogs etc etc so we can try and locate this person to eliminate them from this search. There are going to be many dogs with similar markings out there, but always worth checking them out. Thank you

- Report of possible sighting last Fri am near Berechurch Rd near army camp. A dog similar to Pacer was being walked with other dogs.

- Thank you to everyone calling to say that they think this dog, recently found in Yarmouth, could be Pacer

Sadly, it isn't Pacer, he is still missing, so please keep looking. - 2015-10-04 14:49 Cassie
- The whole area is a bunny heaven, we saw loads last night. Pacer's owner has just had a call from a lady in Tunstall saying she thinks it was her dog seen last weekend, rather than Pacer. Thank you so much to this lady for being kind and honest enough to make that call, it must haye been very difficult for her. Now we are left without any sightings, and it'll be 3 weeks ago tomorrow since Pacer disappeared. Loki has certainly picked up Pacer's scent in the past, so we are not giving up hope, and would ask please that you still keep spreading the word and looking out for him. Thank you...
- 2015-10-04 14:22 Doglover
- Just a thought, are there any rabbit holes he might have gone down?.
- 2015-10-03 20:32 Cassie
- Been out this evening and cooked lovely inviting bacon, with the smell wafting around Bentwaters, but so far no sighting. We met a man with his 2 Goldies who had just walked completely around the paths and fields where Pacer had been seen last Saturday, and it was then dusk, but he hadn't seen Pacer. We've left the bacon outside HappiDays in the hopes that Pacer is still intent on getting back there. Of course, he could be full of rabbits and not hungry! People were out last night with night vision glasses and thermal imaging camera, again covering the ground where Pacer was seen, but sadly to no avail...
- 2015-10-01 12:44 Rose
- Come on pacer show yourself, its tme to go home x
- 2015-09-29 20:19 jimi
- Did wonder about drone - good idea. But need permission from Bentwaters of course as the Spitfire and other planes fly from there.
Have been spreading the word today so as many people as possible will be looking out for Pacer. Such a shame Loki didn't pick up scent today but maybe Pacer will come back to area. We'll keep on searching. X - 2015-09-29 18:36 Cassie
- We have had an offer of a drone, but the area we needed covered was too dense, but if we could get permission to cover the perimeter fence of Bent waters, it might very well prove useful.
- 2015-09-29 17:32 Nina
- Is this an area where the thought of using a drone (spy in the sky) machine would be out of the question.
- 2015-09-29 17:25 Jacquie
- Loki the tracker dog has been here today, but has been unable to pick up any scent. If you are trying to find Pacer please consider looking round the Bentwaters perimeter for him as we really needed a sighting of him. Thank you so much.
- 2015-09-29 15:47 Chris
- Would a camping stove be better than a BBQ? He may be put off by any smoke and flames from a BBQ.
- 2015-09-29 13:20 Jacquie
- Thank all of you so very much for the fantastic efforts and help you are giving me to find Pacer. He is a great "foodie" and might be attracted to good smells but he is a very nervous dog and might not come to a stranger so please contact me if you have a sighting of him. Again my very grateful thanks.
- 2015-09-29 09:04 LJ
- A BBQ sounds like an excellent idea if Pacer is food orientated! Have any tasty/smelly treats been scattered in the area around where he was last seen?
- 2015-09-29 08:16 Sarah Jane
- Ok fab Helen ( I have no BBQ but I'm sure someone will have the neccesarry stuff !) I suppose evening be a good time ? An shall we ask for pacer owners clothing etc ?
- 2015-09-29 08:13 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
- A BBQ certainly is a good idea, it could well entice him out or at least keep him in this area x
There are so many people helping with Pacer, thank you all so much, really hoping he will be home soon x - 2015-09-29 07:32 Sarah Jane
- Lots of searchers again last night sadly no sightings , been suggested on DL FB page to set up a BBQ in area with just couple people & very quiet an his bedding /owners clothes nearby ? What are people's thoughts please ?
- 2015-09-29 00:09 jimi
- Looked in area again today, no luck but spoke to lots of walkers and riders, all aware and asking friends to keep looking. Postered more and Sale Rooms are now putting up extra posters. Cassie, reunited dogs are all different, some take a little time to settle and are a bit nervous for a while, others seem to sleep it off and carry on as if nothing had happened. Maybe depends on their experiences and character. Others may add to this here. Well done Sarah Jane and Trudie for your searching. Thanks too to Notcutts girls who searched til late and other searchers in Woodbridge - we now think this little dog was probably a different one thankfully reunited. Let's hope it's Pacer's turn next. Great that Loki picked up some scent yesterday. X

- My husband spoke to John Kemball this morning, he has confirmed that there are no large pipes. As Sarah Jane said there are gates open around Bentwaters. Let's hope Pacer makes an appearance soon.
- 2015-09-28 16:46 Cassie
- I agree Sarah Jane, it really does restore your faith in human nature when incidents like this happen. We only ever seem to hear of bad news, but by heck, there are a tremendous amount of good people quietly doing what they can to help each other, and thank goodness for them!
I'm waiting to hear when Loki can come out again, but feel reassured that at least Pacer is still in the area, and probably trying to get to familiar territory. As a matter of interest, when a dog has gone feral so to speak for a few weeks, does it settle back into 'normal' life again when it has been reunited? Can you expect any change in behaviour as a result of the experience? - 2015-09-28 14:09 jimi
- Out looking today. Have put appeal on Suffolk Smallholders Society website and FB page and asked them look out for Pacer and to check buildings. X

- Hi I live just outside Tunstall
I have been to bentwaters most dusk times in last few days an spoke to security they are helping in search too
There are other gates open at the side an back of the base for farm vehicles so pacer has easy entry thro these also other gates are easy to get round as jrt size !
....the footpath Loki tracked I will go at before dusk tonight people in area are all helping ( although we are not saying about this pathway as we don't want him scared off ) so they are doing general area from bentwaters to crash site to Tunstall ( this track where Loki went is very tucked away ) there are so many helping its touching
I will go every dusk to search .... Hopefully we will get a sighting
- 2015-09-27 22:37 Nina
- So is it worth the thought of scent trailing from Tunstall to Bentwaters and try and keep him there with familiar scents bedding etc. Sorry but I am no where near you so I don't know the difficulties of the area.
- 2015-09-27 21:21 Jacquie
- I live about 4 miles from where the accident took place & Pacer would have to get across a main road & railway line to reach me. It would appear that he is heading for Bentwaters which is a safer direction than the one to my home.
- 2015-09-27 20:43 Nina
- Depending on how far away you live from where the sightings have taken place there is a human way of scenting. Not sure if its been explained to you before so forgive me if I repeat it. In basic terms in means you collect your pee and in some kind of sprinkler you leave a trail back to your front or back door. You can do this as well by cutting up your old clothing with your scent on it into small pieces and leave a trail. The weather looks good for the future so rain washing scents away should not be a problem.
- 2015-09-27 20:25 Cassie
- I honestly don't know how to answer that question! We realise that he could be as little as 2 foot away from us, but so well hidden, but his scent would be strong to Loki, so may be he would indicate to us, and give us a chance to catch him. If he used a regular route, we could set the food trap. Sam has kindly offered to come back this week if there are any more sightings. I don't know how these things tend to work out, other than rescuing dogs that have got themselves trapped...I read instances of dogs being found after many months, indeed, after many years, so cannot give up hope yet...
- 2015-09-27 17:31 Nina
- Do you think the scenting method of getting him back would help in this situation.
- 2015-09-27 17:20 Cassie
- OK everyone, we really think this sighting is Pacer. Sam brought Loki over this morning and he tracked down the footpath that Pacer was seen dashing down. Loki picked up scents, but not a substantial amount, but sufficient to say Pacer had been there. We've come to the conclusion he could well be trying to get back to Bentwaters, and although that area is fully fenced, there might be the odd rabbit hole he could get under the fence with, or sneak round the entrance when it's quiet. Pacer seems determined to keep hidden from view at the moment, but he's being seen once, if he gets seen again we can build up a picture and hopefully put in a food trap.
Thank you to the very kind gentleman in Tunstall who was busy stopping people in Tunstall to make them aware of Pacer, and putting leaflets through doors.
Strange request, but is anyone aware of any large pipes in the area or around Bentwaters please?
The sighting in Woodbridge around the Framsden Centre seems to have been another JRT, thankfully reunited! Come on Pacer, let's get you reunited NOW!! - 2015-09-26 11:10 charlie and sooty

- More information on Pacer. He is 11 years old & is long-legged Jack Russell almost looking like a Parson JR but isn't. Black/tan patch near his tail on right flank

- Thanks so much to all of you looking for all your fantastic efforts. Although this sighting is several miles from the accident Pacer is familiar with the walk along the river to Kingston Field although he has not been there for some time but I often walk him along from the Melton Amenity Area to the boatyard in particular so this is possible.

- A gentleman from Woodbridge has called this evening after reading the article in the Evening Star. He said he saw a dog running up the hill of Ipswich Road in Woodbridge, near the Framfield Centre/Notcutts, yesterday morning. He tried to catch it with the help of 2 ladies, but the dog ran off up the hill towards John Grose/Sandy Lane. The gentleman thought the dog could well be Pacer from the photograph. Volunteers went out to look immediately the call came in, but of course, the sighting was yesterday and Pacer was not seen. Sam is bring Loki out tomorrow to see if he can pick up Pacers scent. If he does, this could prove very positive that at least he is now moving and hopefully, will ultimately get the help he needs.
If anyone does see him, please approach him very quietly and gently, as he is very nervous and liable to simply run off again.
Thank you everyone for keeping trying! - 2015-09-23 20:41 Gino

Sorry to ask for exact details, but Helen has covered this area well, and I can relay this message to her and will go and check it out myself if I can't get hold of her. Thank you!

- My son in law rents a barn with access through Stokes Sauces. He is a thatcher working away at the moment and has not been to the barn within the timescale of Pacer's disappearance. It is situated between Ivy Lodge Road and Ash Road. He would be happy if you search the barn. It is quite dilapidated and with open access. I am away until Friday in France and had planned to come over and search upon my return. I hope this helps.

Joanne Yeoh Hi All,
I am Chris, Joanne's partner and I like all of you, hope very much to find Pacer. Joanne has been sending out messages via her telepathic communication methods, and we have both been driving around the area where Pacer went missing, to build a physical picture as well as hoping to spot him.
We also met up with Jacquie and her friends yesterday, at the location, to get a better profile of Pacer and for Joanne to impart some of her knowledge to Jacquie. We also managed to gain access to Rush Ground (a private house on the same side of the road, next to the area concerned) and spoke to Fliss the owner who let us walk the grounds of her property. It seems that she didn't know Pacer was missing, so is now fully aware having spoken to jacquie. Unfortunately, whilst there was a strong sense that Pacer had been there at some stage, he wasn't at the time of our visit.
Following that visit and having thought about Pacer's profile, and the area concerned, I have a firm belief of the following;
Pacer Profile – He is a dog who has lived a quiet life, with defined geographical boundaries. He is more urban than rural as regards his immediate territory. However, he is scared of traffic. He is a food lover and responds to calls such as 'Seek', and 'Supper time'.
Being lost where he was, is like us being dropped into the Amazonian rainforest – Unfamiliar terrain, Strange sounds, smells, and very wet! He will be absolutely terrified. He will look for somewhere to hide – a familiar structure perhaps – which I believe will be a shed, farm building or similar. He is unlikely to be in the middle of a corn field, but may have taken shelter in the roots of a tree of similar. He will have been in a state of panic initially, then after looked for shelter. That may have resulted in him having got shut in or stuck?!
I have google earthed Ivy Lodge Road and there are 4 properties within the area. (It is felt Pacer would be unlikely to venture far due to fear and his character). We have explored Rush Ground, so feel that can now be ruled out – However, if you look at the other 3 and the possibility Pacer could have walked in any direction, all 3 have outbuilding, sheds or similar.
I therefore recommend that these properties be visited and if allowed, searched – assuming that's not already been done. So don't just knock on the door, (as one would on a housing estate) and ask if they've seen a Jack Russell, also ask them the following;
Have you a garage, shed, outbuilding or barn on your property. Have you any such building that hasn't been used in the past 7 days. Have you used one which has a door you always shut. If so, can you/we check now. Also, do you know of any wells, pits or drainage ditches, where a dog might get stuck in?
This is necessary as a process of elimination, as we did with Rush Ground. Simply asking if they've seen a dog is not going to be enough.
All other search methods are great – posters, footpath patrols, country lane searches, and word of mouth – The more eyes and ears the better. But thinking outside the box is essential. Put yourself inside the character of Pacer. If he's hiding in a building, he won't be found by the above 'usual' methods.
Joanne is sending him messages, encouraging him to be strong and brave and to find humans – to walk from where he is now so he can be seen – Lets all send that thought out – as a wish, a prayer, or just - 2015-09-20 19:18 jimi

- Thanks Xena's mum. The local area has been heavily posted, the owner comes back several times each day. She's left something of hers and of Pacers, plus water, at the scene. She's put her pee in the area to try and attract him in too. Last night, Sam (with her Wolfdog) was tracking until it became too dark to see any more. Luca definitely picked up the scent, so Sam will return this evening. Meanwhile, Pacers owner waited at the site in her car, she is 80 years old and wouldn't be able to keep up with a tracking dog going at a pace! Someone has put on Facebook that a JRT was seen on the A12, but hasn't said where and when. This could be Pacer trying to get home, as he lives in Wickham Market. Has anyone else heard of this sighting please???
- 2015-09-17 21:36 Xenas Mum - Area Volunteer, Norfolk
- Is Pacers human family available to go to the site of loss? Also the car? If so it would be good to try parking the car as near as possible to the crash site with all the doors open and lots of scenting around it ? so difficult to give advise without having any info. Posters and local radio are very important in getting the word out. Not everyone has facebook! xxx
- 2015-09-16 17:55 Cassie
- People are asking exactly where Pacer went missing. It was on the Ivy Lodge Road, which runs from next to the nursing home in Campsea Ashe, to Rendlesham, coming out at the junction with Stokes' Sauces. This is a narrow country road. If you are travelling from Campsea Ashe, you will see skid marks on the left hand side, just before a bend, and you will notice a damaged hedge. This is about a mile after turning into this road. Obviously coming from Rendlesham direction, it is again about a mile along the road, on the right hand side, just after the bend and before the right hand bend chevrons...

- In circumstances like this the dog will very often stay very close to the crash site but in hiding - how are Pacers humans are they in hospital ? if so if a family memeber can get a piece of clothing that has their scent on and leave somewhere safe near to the crash area he may find that clothing and stay with it - if any deep ditches or dykes these need to be chaecked if safe to do so as he may not be able to get up steep slopes

- Sorry to see that PACER is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (92104)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
