I am so sad to have to give this update. I've just had a phone call from Lindsay to say Maddie was involved in an RTA this afternoon on Roseworthy Hill. (She wouldn't have suffered). It looked like she was trying to make her way home, bless her. She is now finally home with her mum & dad who are devastated.
I am devastated too, Lindsay was so close in catching her.
RIP little one. Run free at the bridge until you all meet again. Thinking of Lindsay & family. xx

Went up today to have a good look round. Lindsay has placed Maddie's crate next to the hedge /gate where she's been seen regularly and a blanket over the top and food inside. If she can't be caught and she visits regularly then we can possibly replace the crate for a trap. I've left the shelter Max as Lindsay has her crate there which she is used to.
There was dog poo just near the gate, some where we bbq'd a few days ago and I went into the field and down a grassy lane where I spotted 2 more poo. All looked the same so I'm guessing it must be Maddie.
Visited nearby houses, businesses and farms letting them know to look out for Maddie. Also checked the cabbage field but didn't spot any signs there.
We just need to keep her in the area. I've advised Lindsay to put food down same time every morning next to her crate so Maddie starts to expect the food and trusts Lindsay enough for her to recognise her. Scent articles are also here. I think Lindsay is having another BBQ this evening. It's just a waiting game.

Have sent this to Lindsay on Maddies fb post.
have sent you a text. Maddie will be ok. She is probably having a rest. She has plenty of shelter in the area. Do you remember the little shelter at the side of the stables where I put some treats? Like a little hut? I was talking to Jules & we think it may be a good idea to borrow that & put it up the lane near either of the 2 gateways, put some of her bedding/your T shirt inside so she feels safer if she wants to go in. ( away from the stable dogs). I am sure someone can help you take it up there. Jules is hving a look around later. It is good that there are sightings of her. xx

Maddie has been sighted again! Last night & this morning. She went to a gateway where we had had a BBQ ( on 18th) & her owner had laid some scenting items there. Hopefully she is now ready to come home. Owner is up there now.
Come on Maddie, your mummy wants to you back home.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Lindsay sighted Maddie again this morning & is following all the advice given. She is putting out some bedding/other scenting items, in the area frequented by Maddie. I am sure with everything that Lindsay is doing that Maddie will be home this weekend :)

You're welcome Max. It was lovely to finally meet you after all this time.
Good luck this weekend Lindsay. Hoping for some good news.

Maddie had been sighted this afternoon by her owner in Nanterrow lane, she had been spooked by dogs down in the nearby stables & ran off scared, owner was unable to stop her.
Myself, Moogie & the owner went down there tonight at 7pm & had a wander round with one of the owners other dogs. We put a few posters up & handed some flyers out ( Kindly supplied by Moogie). Then at dusk we lit a BBQ ( also kindly supplied by Moogie). Sadly Maddie didn't show.
Owner Lindsay now has plenty of sausages & smelly kippers if she should be spotted this weekend. She will visit area again, get some more posters up/flyers out & do some more scenting. Maddie is out there, but just a little too scared.
*** If seen please call owner asap, do not try to catch her ***

Would just like to thank Moogie for being so organised, as I had had a frantic afternoon & rushed out without any posters etc xx

Owner says Maddie was sighted last night between Nanterrow Lane & Green Lane by someone from garage nearby. Have given further advice. Am hoping to go over there tonight & help if there is anyone else available about 8pm ish?

Could the owner get the photo onto the Doglost Cornwall fb page? It can then be taken from there very easily. Not sure if this helps...

I spoke to Maddie's owner today to see if I could assist in uploading photo, but she was unsure how to get it to me. She is waiting for her son to help and have advised to send the photo to admin at doglost.
Maddie was spotted in a field yesterday. Have suggested she continue to poster and flyer and to have bbq tonight weather permitting. Also suggested to park the car up to near the sighting with boot and doors open with engine running to see if Maddie catches the scent.

Have left message for Maddies owner to contact me.

Hi Penny. Are you able to update dog details? It says this below the 'follow' button. Once you click on there, if you go to the bottom of the page there's a button which allows you to upload poster image. (Put into poster 1 as this will be the main photo for poster). Any problems please get in touch with Maxine the area coordinator.
Penny

Owner unable at this stage to upload photo at the moment, so have added similar so alerts can go out.
It seems Maddie escaped into next doors garden, & the neighbour didn't realise, opened the gate & Maddie ran off. She is very timid.
Have emailed advie & will share to DOGLOST CORNWALL & other local sites.
Have asked for microchip details to be added.
