Dear Clare, im sorry for the delay in writing and wonder your news on peggy? Sparty is missing as you know because you kindly commented on his page. I'm working with good people to find my boy and will write later in the week when near a computer to ask how I can help you. The wirehaireds are distinctive and there must be a way to find them. Stay strong, tis very tough, ut they wouldnt want us not looking for them. From M, typing on my phone and hoping this reads ok. Will aim to speak early next week. Best wishes, thoughts are with you.
Peggy
sorry i dont know any more about the other Dachshund that is missing. i will try and find the owner and see where shes got inher search.

I am so upset that a dog warden would want posters removed. Can we get posters up in shops, houses, any private land with owners' permission like pubs, schools, community centres, car windows, taxi drivers, bus drivers, postmen, hand out flyersvtyo all houses in the near vicinity. X

Peggy,s mum, if these thieves are targeting daschunds, they would be trying for a particular reason. But this would also mean she's probably alive and well somewhere. Remember she is chipped and quite often dogs do reappear and then get scanned. Can helpers please check studs, selling sites, local papers & shop ads please. Also, owner do you know anymore about the stolen one? Can that one also be placed on this site? We can then look for any similarities with them and watch for any leads on either thus leading to both of them. Does the other owner have a crime number?
Sarah
If you are on Facebook you could try setting up a separate page for Peggy. Link the Doglost pages and any other useful information. It can help get the word around even further. x
Peggy
thank you i have contacted all the people you mention but to no avail. local gossip is that someones dachshund was stolen from SE5 a few days ago so maybe its the same sick bastards who have Peggy.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Peggy's owner, did you call the road people? Local council roads and the highways agency for your area? Also if near rail, call Network Rail. Need to rule these out. Or someone could have her and so taking posters down. Possible.
Peggy
Thank you so much but it wasnt peggy. i wish i knew what had happened.
yours,
clare

Dogs that go to Wandsworth, Lambeth or Lewisham wardens are always reported here to BDCH, and eventually come here. Southwark rarely report dogs to us and i'm not sure what kennels they use.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Can anyone assist owner by advising of all the Rescues in that area and any others that a found dog may be sent to? Owner has emailed into Admin requesting assistnance with this. Thank you. x

Wonder if the person taking down the posters has Peggy and doesn't want people to be kept aware that she is missing
DogLostDebbie - Area Volunteer, South London
Any more updates about Peggy? Outrageous all the posters taken down even outside the house too, keep handing them out and putting them back up, hoping there's some good news soon, shared again to facebook

Peggy
i will get some more made and put them back. im not sure it was the dog warden complaining i think it must have been the southwark council park warden.
Peggy
all my posters have been removed even the one outside my house... i did put a lot but it worked as so many people commented on them. anyway there is absolutely no news about Peggy...
Skywalker99
People putting up posters for whatever reason are NOTHING to do with the dog warden, would he be complaining if they were posters for a concert? Personally I would leave them up/ go put them back up and probably try and broker a deal with the appropriate person at the council....or ring the press.
DogLostDebbie - Area Volunteer, South London
It's ridiculous about the posters and how they are about them, I'd put them up everywhere, and on trees in the park too, traffic lights etc anywhere busy so people will spot the posters. Keep handing the posters out too. Have you put a scent of yours down (item of clothing) near where she went missing? Hidden and tied to a tree? sorry Peggy still missing will share her poster again on Facebook

Hope Peggy will be home soon. Paws xd.

Will call owner who has just emailed to apologise about the posters...worth a bump? I think so...
Skywalker99
Why? That's dreadful...I hope the dogwarden will at least give you permission to use the official noticeboards....and that you can find somewhere else to display them. I know flyposting is illegal but councils don't usually object to lost pet posters.
Peggy
dear Victoria, sorry to be slow to respond to your kind message. thank you for calling and looking for peggy the other day. i wish she would reappear but there has been no news at all. i have been asked to take down all the posters and messages we put up so ill have to do this later today. yours clare
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Southpark warden has rung to complain about all the posters and has asked that you ask his permission to use the official notice boards and not put the posters up on the railings..tx
Jules
tweeting regularly from @cpsubway and @madamdaphne also tagging businesses near park and asking for retweets. I see the posters daily on my walks and hope to see "found" on them soon
Victoria
I regularly walk and run through BelAir park and spent 30mins calling for Peggy this morning. Is there a more specific location in the park I can look at when I run through tomorrow? Also happy to help put up posters etcLast edited: 2015-09-23 21:36:46 by Victoria

Report has been made at Battersea but no news here yet.
DogLostDebbie - Area Volunteer, South London
Does Dulwich come under Southwark or Lambeth? Dog warden number for: Southwark dog warden 0207 525 57 77, or Lambeth dog warden 0207 926 88 60, if these boroughs are close it helps to let other boroughs know too
DogLostDebbie - Area Volunteer, South London
You're welcome Peggy, rewards can help and noticed it above and on poster. Just keep handing out posters and getting posters up, the more posters out there - more chance of a sighting. Shops, busy places and all surrounding roads to the park. Also a poster up in the back of your car can help, hoping she's found soon. Messaged this group on FB and asked them to post poster on their page, can't seem to share it to them.

Has anyone advised owner to put a scent down near to where Peggy went missing (preferably an article of owners clothing tied to a tree but not too visible) and to hand out posters as much as possible in the park and surrounding areas. Unfortunately I'm helping with a dog that's lost closer to where I live so I'm not able to get posters out for Peggy, will share to some lost dog groups on FBLast edited: 2015-09-20 14:06:25 by Debbie - Area Volunteer, South London

Sorry to see that PEGGY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (92231)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
