- Went to see Chloe, oh and Bev too, today. Spent far too long really but she is looking so good. I have to say she was not actually caught in barbed wire, it was brambles and the fence. She is obviously a bit wobbly but is walking and eating well. Bev is doing a great job building her up. Lovely day :)

- Only just come across this about Chloe. I live hundreds of miles away, but I can assure you, I am praying for her recovery. I suppose you do not know how long she was caught up in the fence, but then again, it really does not matter now, what matters is that she is safe and in the good care of your Vets. She will pull through. Positive thoughts from everyone will get her there. Bless her. Xxxxxxxxxxx

- I didn't believe I would be writing this...Chloe has been found ALIVE. She's at the vet now, on a drip, and they will be doing some blood tests to assess any damage to her internal organs. She's a skinny little tough dog, weighing about 6kg now. When I left her with the vet, she was on a drip, and licking some paste food off one of the nurses' fingers. Thank you to ALL AND EVERYONE OF YOU who has shared her, supported her (and me) and PRAYED FOR HER. Please keep those prayers coming, she's got another little fight to win. xxxx
- 2015-10-02 15:38 AlisonH

- Bev has just called me, driving home from vets now, Chloe was found on a neighbouring farm caught up in a fence. She has lost around 4kg but is alive - what a trooper! She recognised Bev and is getting the best attention now. Definitely prayers Geoff. Amazing, wonderful news XXX

- Just had a very emotional call from Maxine Young. Chloe has been found, she is alive but very poorly and on a drip at the vets. Maxine has asked that we all pray for her. xx
- 2015-09-29 16:36 devonmade
- I am sure this has been thought of but what about Dartmoor Rescue or Cornwall Rescue? they are all volunteers and have dogs and I know some are trained to find by smell - perhaps a blanket or something of Chloe's would help. I really really hope you find her soon but I would give them a ring, it has to be worth a call to see what they say. maybe a bed left outside - she may smell it possibly. it does sound like she has got in somewhere - would she hear a dog whistle? crossing fingers - keep your chin up
- 2015-09-27 09:09 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- I have been in touch with Bev again. She is obviously feeling very low.
Friends with dogs have been out searching on the land too, in the hope of picking up something. Nothing so far. I have suggested we could get a few people together & do a systematic search, but please understand it is a very emotional time for her & several extensive searches have already been carried out by friends/family. - 2015-09-26 21:56 Kim
- Been out searching around the village, coast path and country lanes. So sorry there are no sightings. Come on girl, show yourself so we can get you home xx
- 2015-09-22 21:32 Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall
- Hi Bev, I checked St John's well before I came over tonight, its quite safe and locked up, went along the lane checking the ditch running alongside and also told you about what looked like a white bucket or barrel in the reeds in the field next to the well. There is an old abandoned 4x4 at the end of that lane and checked under and around it, very overgrown but could not see anything. Posters still ok at coast path. Hope your horse's leg heals, really awful luck but as you say they have been a bit spooked by all the activity. If you want to do a line search of the farm or any particular area (sorry don't know the proper term) please don't keep thinking you are putting people out, your are not, they want to help. So count me in, I'm just up the road and you have my number. Also available for letter-box drops which may help if there are any holiday places still occupied nearby. Went up to Cory earlier, is that a holiday cottage there?
- 2015-09-21 15:41 JulieH
- Hope you have good news soon, i live too far away to help but I am thinking of you x
- 2015-09-21 14:55 Bev
- Max, thank you for calling me, I'm overwhelmed with all the support from everyone. Sadly, the spaniel hasn't found anything, he checked all through the valley, some of the neighbouring farm too....I think he might be enjoying a good sleep now, he searched for about four hours! I'm still trying to be positive, after seeing posts about dogs who show up days and weeks after going missing, but I fear her age is against her.

- Bev, hope you find her today. Hope our little chat helped last night. xx
- 2015-09-20 21:21 Springles
- So sorry you have not found her yet, you are doing absolutely all you can, stay positive we are all praying for her to be found very soon.xx
- 2015-09-20 20:58 Bev
- No news to report sadly, done another extensive search around the farm, and still absolutely no clue to where she is. Got a friend coming over tomorrow with his spaniel, see if he can find anything. Thank you again, everyone, for your support...praying I can bring some good news soon
- 2015-09-20 13:57 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
- Bev, I was thinking she may have crept into a property and got shut in, rather than jump into a car. Sorry for multiple copies of same message, just wanted to make sure you see them.
- 2015-09-20 13:34 Bev
- Sadly Loki trackerdog can't help, based in Suffolk. Geoff, thank you for your text, I messaged you. Chloe can't jump into a car these days :-( I still want to believe she's alive, but I don't know. People keep saying it's early days but she's so old, always been a little toughie but had more lives than a cat! Maybe this time, her luck ran out.
- 2015-09-20 12:10 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
- A long shot but are there any nearby houses / cottages that Chloe could have entered and got shut in? I am thinking maybe somebody vacating a holiday cottage / going away for the weekend, leaving a door open while they load car, and not noticing Chloe had crept in. Appreciate you are quite a way from other properties and Chloe is not too quick on her legs but thought I would suggest it just in case.
- 2015-09-20 10:39 Bev
- No news yet. I was outside in the night, listening, it was so calm and peaceful but not a sound from Chloe. Gun dog people didn't understand my request, said their dogs only put up birds, waiting to hear from Loki Trackerdog, Sam unable to help with bloodhounds, they need to track within 8/9 hrs of sighting. Area well postered now, another search with friends today hopefully. Thank you everyone for your support, it's helping me stay positive that she is still alive.
- 2015-09-20 09:36 Jaycey

Keeping everything crossed for you Bev.
Just a thought, I know you were asking about gun dogs, here is a link to one, there are others too if you do a search....http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/shooting/game-shooting/partridge-shooting-at-pawton-manor-cornwall-42373 - 2015-09-19 22:04 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall

- I just want to say thank you to everyone who is offering support, sharing Chloe on media and friends who came today to help search. Sadly, there is no news, not a sign of her and no clues, nearly 24 hrs now and she will be confused if she is lost. Hoping to get help with tracker dogs, messages left on various sites. Stay safe Chloe, I'm sorry I can't find you.

- Goeff, do you mean St Morwenna's Well and St John's Well? They are both at the Rectory, I know them, will ask Bev to check them out or do it myself later, thanks for your help. The Farm is across the other side of a steep valley, and Chloe is a bit slow mostly, though she does have her moments. Beverley's friend has walked the stream along it. Chloe is not wearing a collar but she is chipped, DW and Vets have been informed. Just re-read your post, yes the farm fields do go towards the cliff, and can see the Wells ('W' on the map) now. Have left a phone message to take a look.Last edited: 2015-09-19 15:09:05 by Fergal - Area Volunteer - Cornwall

- Thank you Geoff I, can you text Beverley on that mobile number please. I have just got back searching the farm buildings, hedges etc, with her and there is a slurry pit (but no sign of her tiny footprints around it). She should know where the wells are, or her husband who is out searching now. I have postered a few and ran out, did the telegraph post outside the Bush Inn, and then waylaid lots of people walking down at the Church and Rectory tea rooms. Needs a poster there too. Beverley - I was in the field on the Rectory road when I phoned your husband, the small white thing walking towards the hedge was just where your husband entered the field in the hedge on the left. I waved but don't think you saw me. You and your friends were at the top of that field either side of the hedge. If you were in the field before my call, it just may have been you but seemed a lot smaller and moving slowly. I will call again tonight and so sorry I can't do any more today - family have disappeared and I covered in slurry now so probably just as well. Lots of luck, and just a thought... can you get your dogs to 'find Chloe' in the house, just in case.
- 2015-09-19 13:12 GeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
- Fergal - I have just added this to our post on Doglost Cornwall fb page, tagging Bev (you may need to zoom out one notch to see the two wells). I hope my suggestion is unfounded:
Looking at the map, there appears to be a well just to the north of your farm and another at Yeolmouth a bit further NNE. Sorry to suggest his but is it possible Chloe could have fallen in one of these:http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=220873&y=116020&z=0&sv=EX23%209SS&st=2&pc=EX23%209SS&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf
If above link does not work enter EX23 9SS into search box on the streetmap main website.

- Just spoken with owner who has friends coming over to help with search. Typical, but I am out all day with family today. Have advised to get Chloe's bedding outside close to house and start scenting around farmhouse gates. The house has been searched already. I am fighting my printer it's being flippin temperamental! I don't think she will be too far off, she is 16 and deaf, so suggested looking in every bush, hedge and hole close to the garden and lane. Will get posters out now
