Thank you Jayelle, the family have done this, they have maintained a social media campaign the whole year & had a big push at the anniversary but sadly no new news :'( x
BorderCol
This must be very upsetting for his owners. What about putting an anniversary appeal in all the local papers, residents magazines and Facebook pages which surround the area of the vet where he was taken for scanning? Might jog a memory of a neighbour acquiring a lovely ginger cat.

Simba has been missing for a year today, still very much missed by his family who are actively searching still x

Simba is still missing & the person who possibly took him to be scanned when his microchip was unregistered has not yet been found :'( x
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thank you, we know which vets the cat was taken to as they were the ones who told Simbas owner that theyd scanned a possible match with unregistered details, all of the local vets & charities are aware of Simba x

People tend to visit a local vet so I would put posters up in the area (if none already), get the vets to put one up too in case he has to be taken back. If the vets have a Facebook page get them to put his picture and a message on their.
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thank you all, unfortunately the vets did not retain any details when the cat was taken in they dont even have a record of the chip number they scanned so they are unable to get back in touch :( x

Good luck from me too. four paws xd
BigGSDPatlucky
Vets are not allowed to give information out to people
However if you can find out what vets it is.
Then you could ask IF they would not mind passing a message on to the people for you
That they can do they might even ring the person
Good luck

Do not think is same cat but please take a look

It must be so upsetting knowing someone is trying to help.
I so hope you get your beautiful cat back soon.
BorderCol
What is the name or location of the vet where the cat was taken for scanning?

Also, what were the circumstances? If the cat was booked in by someone, even if not a usual client, the surgery would have taken their details. In my experience, I have been asked for my own details even for an emergency visit that is not pre booked. Not quite understanding why the vet who scanned the cat cannot now contact the person who brought it in?

Paws, and fingers xd, that is is Simba, and he will be home soon.
Algernon TrustLisaP
Simba went missing from his new home in Adderbury on 12th September, having recently moved with his family from their old home in Banbury. Simba is very much missed by Karen Lucy Mckay and the rest of his family & friends who have spent hours searching for him over the weeks he has been missing aswell as putting up posters from his Animal Search page and contacting local vets and animal charities
Simba is microchipped so his family were reassured that if a kind person noticed he looked lost and took him to be scanned then this would lead to his return home. A recent call to local vets however revealed that a cat matching Simbas description recently was taken to the vets to be scanned however although this cat was microchipped, no owner details were recorded on the records. A call to the microchip company revealed that Simbas microchip had no details recorded against it so there is a good possibility that this was Simba
Please share & ask as many people as possible if they know the kind person who recently took a ginger male cat to the vets for a scan to let them know the details are now recorded & please can they get back in touch with the vets they took him to

Dont know how i missed this. Not too late to post. Someone I know put "Lost" posters up when her cat went missing for about 3 or 4 weeks, he was found not far away from his home being fed by someoine else. Now reunited! Put tuna in his dish, and keep calling him; night or early morning is best. Put something with his scent on, and place in a clean container, along with something with your scent on too. Leave i n the garden in a sheltered spot. Wipe his scent on your garden fences, and gates too. Put "lost" posters through doors, and ask around Also try this open a TIN of cat food with door wide open, as the sound of the opener, and smell of food may bring him home. I think one cat on Doglost had been missing for 14 weeks, another 8 weeks. I think the trouble starts when people feed other peoples cats. I do wish they would`ntLast edited: 2015-10-11 15:45:41

Sorry to see that SIMBA is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (92514)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
