A big than you to everyone who endlessly searched for Jazz, she was a troubled rescued dog who was afraid of people, but we loved her. Some evil humans had made her like this she wasn't born like it. She felt comfortable and safe around other animals Our Darling. Jazz is now at peace and will be buried with the dignity she deserves after her short life.
RIP. jAZZ. 15/10/15
I would like to say a big thank you to Richard , Lorna, Mary for their dedicated hours of searching, the farmers around the Malpas, Threapwood & Cuddington areas thank you to them for their support

Jazz was hit by a car on the Malpas Road during the night and a kind person took her to Hampton vets where she was positively identified by her microchip. I am sorry to say she is dead. I guess this was the only way we were ever going to catch this incredibly resourceful little dog.
Many thanks to everyone for their help, sympathy and good wishes, from Tam and me.

SEEN THIS MORNING (Thurs 15th Oct) at 9.30 and again at 10.30am at Cross o' th' Hill, Malpas, in the field she was seen in by the tractor driver on Tuesday. She looks dirty but otherwise fit and well. New map ref: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=349602&y=347600&z=0&sv=sy14+8dq&st=2&pc=sy14+8dq&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf
So she's back in the area west of No Mans Heath where she was yesterday morning.

Thanks Jayne. The sighting was at 2.30pm at the back of a farm on the road between Hampton Heath roundabout and Malpas, near the junction with Ebnal Lane. It may be called Bank Farm. She disappeared as soon as she was spotted. This is entirely consistent with this morning's sighting, as if you go down Ebhal Lane you come to No Mans Heath.
She's still there!
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Sighted today about 1 hour ago on the Malpas road near the Hampton roundabout.
Mary Roberts
LATEST NEWS: Went to No Mans Heath at dawn to find Richard and Lorna B already there, searching. Went all over yesterday's ground, no trace. Then we got a message from Paul Connolly, who lives in the last cottage on the left before the railway bridge, going from Malpas towards No Mans Heath. At 9.10am this morning, following one of his old terriers, JAZZ WALKED INTO HIS KITCHEN! As soon as she saw Paul, she turned and bolted down his garden, and probably onto the disused railway line. Paul had seen the posters and called, and immediately went after her with his terriers - nothing. Gone.
So she's still there.
Paul said she looked 'narrow' but otherwise well, clean and fit. SHE DEFINATELY STILL HAS THE LILAC HARNESS ON. Paul will leave food out to try and get her coming back.
Searched the area again. Gone to ground. Ggrrr.
Goldenfrodo
Thanks Alison x Hope Jazz is caught very soon x

Alerts resent to SY14
Mary Roberts
Admin, I've asked twice for this alert to be sent again to SY14 postcode, and now it's more relevant than ever, But you have not told me whether you have done this or not. Can you confirm, please? Recipients two weeks ago may not have thought it relevant at the time, but it sure is now!

NEW SIGHTINGS!
What a day. Jazz was sighted at 2.15pm by a tractor driver in a huge field near Lees Farm, between Malpas and No Mans Heath. See map:
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=350242&y=347769&z=115&sv=350242,347769&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=591&ax=350242&ay=347769&lm=0
The field is on the right (Malpas side) of the tiny lane leading to Lees Farm. The tractor driver was aware Jazz was missing and cornered her in the field with sheep netting either side of her, thinking 'got you', and was within 10 feet of her when she bolted past him, through the gateway and away in an unknown direction.
He said she was in good condition, clean, still wearing the lilac harness and very fast.
Richard B was on site quickly and I joined him later. We searched, no trace. We guessed she'd gone back in the direction of Malpas, and went out searching, postering and knocking on doors accordingly, but we were wrong...........
At about 5pm, Jazz was reported on the bridge crossing the disused railway line, going away from Malpas towards No Mans Heath. In the ensuing search, both Richard B and Jazz'z owner saw her, but were unable to catch her. The last sighting is the cornfield on the left side of the road just before the village of No Mans Heath at around 6pm. At the end, she was clearly spent, resting at every opportunity, but still able to outrun her pursuers.
Please use the zoom in/out facility on the map to see the locations.
Hollieberry
Poor girl out on her own all this time. I hope she caught soon
Mary Roberts
NEW SIGHTING: At 8.30am yesterday morning (Sunday 11th October), Jazz was seen at Ashfields House, Wrexham Road Cuddington. This is on the opposite side of the main road to the turnings to Oldcastle Heath. This house has a building site alongside and behind it, where new houses are being built. Jazz was seen to run along the inside perimeter fence of the site furthest from the road, but lost from view. Her general direction was Malpas. The person who saw her has an elderly terrier, who later ran off following a scent. It is quite possible Jazz has come into season. Building workers on the lookout, and local residents.
Admin, can you resend the alert to SY14, please?
See map location, it's a direct line from Newton Hall and Oldcastle Heath.
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=347196&y=346715&z=0&sv=SY14+7EL&st=2&pc=SY14+7EL&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf

As there was a sighting of Jazz recently could her page be bumped up please admin. Thanks x
Mary Roberts
SEEN YESTERDAY AT OLDCASTLE FARM, and on Wednesday near Newton Hall Farm. Witness said she looked thin but was moving quickly. She's been in that area for a week now, all efforts concentrated there. Many thanks to Richard B for his tireless efforts to help.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=347500&y=345500&z=120&sv=oldcastle+heath&st=3&tl=Map+of+Oldcastle+Heath,+Cheshire+[City/Town/Village]&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf

Mary Roberts
Have been out with Tam today and we have two more sightings. See map:

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=347500&y=345500&z=120&sv=oldcastle+heath&st=3&tl=Map+of+Oldcastle+Heath,+Cheshire+[City/Town/Village]&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf

Both sightings were at Oldcastle Heath. On Monday afternoon, she was seen in a garden 100yds NNE of point 84 on the map, and at around 10am on Tuesday 6th she was seen in a farm yard at Newton Hall. This indicates she is coming into human environments, probably very hungry. Please look out for her.

Tam
I have been back to Crabtree farm today, walked along dogs lane, no joy, visited
Cudington hall farm, spoke to resident no sightings, poster going up in local primary school tomorrow, will try tallarn green tomorrow. SIGHTINGS. SEEM TO HAVE GONE COLD. Thank you all for your help. We are not going to give up looking for her, we want her home safe and well !! Tam
Mary Roberts
Yes, I spoke to Ray and carried out his method at Threapwood when we had a sighting there. Need an up to date sighting to carry it out again.
Extended the search towards Malpas this afternoon, nothing.
Pop's Mum
Cuddington Heath is approx. halfway between Threapwood & Malpas on the B5069
Goldenfrodo
I'm not sure where Cuddington is. Its good that she's been sighted again.

Did you manage to speak to Ray?
Mary Roberts
We located the farm in Crabtree Lane, Cuddington, where Jazz was seen, and the resident black dog. There is no doubt this is a verified sighting. Buildings searched - negative.
Tam
Please we urgently need more sightings of jazz, she is over her weekly due date now for injections to keep her well, any sightings please ring. 09148 770100. Or. 07724150840. - 07784826692. PLEASE HELP US, and thank you all for your time and efforts spent so far, I will be out tonite looking for again in the treapwood/malpas/Worthenbury area thank you again Tam
Mary Roberts
The lady mentioned earlier rang back. She saw Jazz with another dog, a black spaniel, in Crabtree Lane, Cuddington/Threapwood, at 8.30pm on Saturday evening 3rd October. The black dog ran into a farm on the right, but Jazz carried on up the road and turned left into some farm buildings. She definitely had a light coloured harness on. Next day, the caller saw a poster and realized the significance.
Mary Roberts
Not Jazz, microchip not correct number.
Thank you so much for posting.

A lady rang at 4.30 and said she'd seen Jazz, but didn't say where or when, and didn't leave a number. Other callers prevent 1471. If you're reading this, can you ring again, please?
The food in the Threapwood stables location had gone today (for the first time), so have replenished it.
Mary Roberts
No sightings on tonight's search, food left out is untouched. However, I was told that she was seen in Oldcastle Lane about two days ago.
Mary Roberts
Since reporting, Jazz has crossed the border into Cheshire. Could the alert be sent out again to SY14 postcode, in case those members dismissed it last week as too far away?
Goldenfrodo
Thank you for bumping Jazz up. Fingers crossed she'll be caught soon x
Goldenfrodo
Thats promising news.

Could admin please bump up her page because of the sightings. Thanks x
Mary Roberts
Another sighting in Threapwood was reported at 12.50am on Saturday morning. The caller was travelling from Worthenbury towards Malpas. As she passed Frontier House, a dog matching Jazz's description ran out and headed towards Malpas. The car in front of her braked heavily and both drivers (who had seen posters) called her. At the sound of her name, she turned her head but did not stop running. They followed her for about half a mile until she turned off to the left near the padlocked double green metal gates.
I've spent all afternoon visiting houses in the area and everyone is very anxious to help - thank you so much. I've just come in from night patrol, cruising and sitting quietly in Threapwood, but have not been lucky enough to catch sight of her.
All callers say she looks well. The only way we will catch her is by making a feeding station she will come to and eventually trap her, maybe in an outbuilding. If you think she may be visiting your property, could you consider this?
Mary Roberts
Been out searching at Threapwood again this evening. Two people called and said they had seen her on the main Wrexham/Malpas road about half a mile on the Malpas side of Threapwood garage, and she ran into the fields on the right going towards Malpas. Both callers said she definitely had a harness on, which makes the sightings very credible.
Tam
Thanks to everyone who is searching for Jazz, she is a frightened vulnerable cocker spaniel, afraid of people, if you do sight her don't chase her she will just bolt, it's been nearly a week since she has been on the run however she is staying local to where she went missing, it's just been able to catch her safely. Please everyone do not give up on her, we will be home from Spain. Monday night, on Tuesday I will be actively looking for her. Thank you all so much again
Mary Roberts
Two sightings of Jazz in Worthenbury - not confirmed, but very promising, behind Bowling Bank Farm on Thursday afternoon and at 8.15am this morning (Friday) on Mulsford Lane. Dog tracker team also found good indication here. If seen, don't chase her, just watch where she goes and ring me.

An unconfirmed sighting of Jazz tonight, which looks very promising. Caller had seen a poster and saw a spaniel similar to Jazz running along the road towards Malpas, about 300 yards past Threapwood garage/post office. Several cars stopped and they tried to call her, but she disappeared into the fields on the right (Threapwood village side). I have searched the roadside in the dark - no trace - and have spoken to the landowner who is most helpful. The possible sighting is consistent with her direction from the last sighting.
Also informed the local hunt.
Mary Roberts
No luck again this morning. Posters extended to lanes and footpaths around Threapwood. Cage with food set up near last sighting.
Mary Roberts
No more information about Jazz today. I've searched the area again, and the food I left on Sunday where she was seen is still there. She may have moved on over the border into Cheshire. Thanks to all the people who have contacted me to tell me they're actively looking.
Goldenfrodo
Its good that you've contacted Ray. Hope he can help catch Jazz very soon x
Skywalker99
That's ok. I would follow up with a phone call tomorrow.
Mary Roberts
Thanks Skywalker99, I have traced Ray Dedicoat and sent him an email.
Skywalker99
You may want to contact Ray Dedicoat who is very experienced in catching feral dogs. His website is www.raydedicoat.co.uk (I think)
Mary Roberts
I have contacted all the houses on the perimeter of the area she's in, everyone is very sympathetic and helpful. I have left a supply of food with the livery stables at the end of Threapwood bridletrack and they are going to leave some out to try and tempt her. Thank you very much admin for trying to help by giving catching advice, but Jazz bolts and doesn't look back. The food I left for her last night (where she was last seen) is still there.
Skywalker99
can her bedding be left somehwere she has been seen?
JulieH
Hope she is home safe soon x
Tam
Hi all thank you for all your help so far, I am the owner of Jazz and am currently in Spain. Jazz was rehomed by us 12 weeks ago after a traumatic life. She bolted from her carer home were she was staying temporally for a week, Jazz is a very nervous dog who is afraid of people, since we have had her she has been use to a quiet home with another older spaniel, she has a health issues, weekly injections given by the vet, a diet intolerance issue. She is microchipped, she needs a very special home we have been able to give, not your every day happy go lucky dog, please if you find her can you please let us know, she is very special !! Requiring a lot of TLC. 24/7. Thank you all again.
AlisonH
Hi Mary,
Jazz is in flight mode so you need to be extremely careful. If you see her DO NOT chase or call her name. As soon as you see her drop to the floor and turn away from her. This will be less threatening and give her time to recognise your scent. Try to keep her in your sight by looking out the corner of your eye. Gently throw a tasty treat towards her. If she is brave enough to approach and take the treat repeat the action but drop the treat slightly closer to yourself until she is close enough for you to very quietly and calmly talk to her. If possible carefully pop a slip lead over her head but DO NOT rush this as she will bolt. Be prepared to take things slowly.
DogLostNina
You may need to contact admin and ask advice on how to approach getting the dog to come to you it takes a skill they are well aware of.
Mary Roberts
Jazz has been sighted on the vast tract of farmland between Mulsford Lane and Threapwood. A posse of us have searched and we found Jazz tightly curled up under a hedge. Unfortunately she bolted when she saw us and is somewhere behind the new equine vets at Threapwood. I'll start searching again tomorrow.
Goldenfrodo
Try not to worry too much Mary. I've posted and shared on lots of Wales FB Groups. Hopefully we'll be able to find Jazz soon xxx
Mary Roberts
It's going to be cold again tonight. Please, anyone reading this locally will you check your garden and outbuildings, barns etc? She will be hiding somewhere, and although timid will NOT bite.

I will call you...

Thanks, it's displaying correctly now, but is printing without the text.

Press refresh and you will see. Its the same photo but without the border. If we and you are working on a dog at the same time it confuses the system...remember to press refresh and please don't press delete image as the correct one is on.tx
Mary Roberts
Every time I load the correct image into the 'poster' box, your image of the black cocker appears. Maybe you need to delete it at your end to get rid of it. I need to print the posters urgently.
DogLostNina
Mary I am not sure how things work but do you think it would be worth emailing a photo in to admin or maybe you have already done this
Mary Roberts
Hello Admin, the correct photo (coloured border) is still appearing in the 'extra image' position, and I'm waiting to print the posters on which, at the moment, no photo is appearing.
AlisonH
Mary just refresh the page by pressing F5 and you should be able to see the correct image.

Thanks Mary. I've updated the photo and uploaded into the Poster Image box. Have also updated the details.

Posters can be printed directly from here and they are the key to getting sightings. Rooting for her to be found soon and back home.
Mary Roberts
I have found a stock photo of a similar looking dog. This is not Jazz, but the colouring is the same.
Mary Roberts
No, it's a bit of a mystery. She's thought to be a rescue from a puppy farm, but something has made her terrified of humans. She's very pretty, and I emphasise SHE DOES NOT BITE even when cornered.
DogLostMajorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
Thanks for posting Mary. If she has recently been rehomed could where she came from have a photo of JAZZ?
Mary Roberts
Hi, thanks for your efforts trying to find a photo of a similar dog, but that one is not like Jazz. Jazz has a typical head, black with a white stripe down the middle, but the main part of her body is roan so it looks white or light from a distance. And most notable, she has a lilac coloured harness on. Thanks again.

Admin could a similar dog photo be used so alerts can go out Please ?
Mary Roberts
Could you circulate to SY14 as well as LL13? I'm on the Cheshire border near Threapwood/Malpas.
Mary Roberts
Now on Facebook. Been searching all afternoon with no result. She will be hiding somewhere, perhaps not too far away. She is terrified of people as a result of her previous experiences (now rehomed with lovely people), but if cornered she will NOT bite, just submit. Please, if you're local and reading this, check outbuildings and corners of your garden. Been in touch with the dog warden and microchip company. Thank you for helping.
