We are overwhelmed by everyone's kindness (especially as we are just strangers) and thank you for the time spent looking for him. It was a tragic set of circumstances and unfortunately the contact number put on here by a friend was incorrect by one digit. Thank you for trying to call us with information. The driver did not stop, but a lovely family did and called me to let us know.
We miss him terribly and take solace in the fact that we hopefully gave him the best 8 months after fostering and then adopting him from a rescue centre. He obviously had a horrible life beforehand, hence why he was nervous.
Thank you all again for your support. Samantha xxx Last edited: 2015-09-29 22:24:37 by Sam

My wife and I returned home this evening after searching for Clarence all day. So, so sorry to hear the sad news. We were hoping he had been found safe. If only he hadn't run away. Our thoughts are now with his family. Sorry we couldn't have done more to prevent this outcome.

Owners parked in Stew Ponds car park. I was following them up the relaid cycleway behind The Greenway when I realised they were calling for a dog. I caught up with them at the junction with Wells Road. Unfortunately although I gave them every phone contact I had for lost dogs, I forgot to get their number. This was at about 5.30pm. they said they had lost sight of the dog about half hour earlier.

Is it possible for us to be told where he was last seen please. Epsom and Ashtead Common is a huge area. There are a lot of willing helpers in the area, but without knowing where to start looking, it'll be like finding a needle in a haystack!
