- Just joined Doglost on 4.10.07 when my lurcher was taken from my garden in Killinghall. Have you checked for sightings with the gardner and staff at Nidd Hall hotel, also the farm going out of Nidd towards Karesborough on the right at the top of the hill, won't give name but often had potatoes for sale sign at end of drive, they farm a good bit of land in the area. The old railway track could have led him a long way towards Ripon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Thanks Jayne. Please, everyone in area, PUT POSTERS UP NOW, AS MANY AS POSS. so if anyone has him they will know he must be returned. Have vets, rescues, wardens, etc. been informed too? Poster says 'Tagged' but listing says not, although he may have lost his tag now anyway. What a handsome, dignified chappie you are Murphy - hope you are home soon. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Oh good, hope we can move forward for Murphy at last. The owners seem desparate to get him home, but maybe do not know how determined DogLost helpers are or are not checking site. Let's hear from them! And especially you, Murphy!! If you are reading this Ted & Julie, make sure you keep checking Found pages too. xxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Have put posters up in Ripley and do hope Murphy will show himself soon. Spoke to owner and he is a pet dog, NEUTERED, and he ran off on a walk with his family on Bank hol Mon. at Nidd Gorge. He has always come back before - Murphy's son failed to find him and there were lots of people around, so they think he could have been taken. I don't know if the river is nearby but I'm sure he knows the area well enough to avoid it. Owners are hoping for article in Farmers Weekly. Everyone I spoke to in area knew about little Murphy and are looking out. They said he looks like a big dog on owner's poster, and obviously he is terrier-sized, so a pic would be helpful then Doglost helpers can stick more up - you can't have too many, and keep checking them - the more people know the better. Come home soon Murphy. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- As soon as admin receive a picture and posters are e-mailed to helpers they need to be put up in the area a.s.a.p. lamposts, entrances to parks, vets, petshops, ask postie, milkmen, binmen, schools, pubs, dog training clubs and deliver to houses etc. Handout smaller posters to people, especially dog walkers. Put A4 poster in car windows. Check Police stations and Dog Warden. RSPCA and rescue centres need checking regularly and preferably visited in person, by owner or someone who knows Murphy. xx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
