- As her father has stepped in - I assume "Alice" is quite young.
But as someone posted below - he only did this because his IP address was traced.
Clearly he does not monitor his child's on
line activity - WHY NOT?
It's lazy parenting that produces nasty little scumbags like "Alice" & the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Her father should be made to pay!!!
That way - he might pay more attention to what his little monster is up to.
Evil little shits grow into evil BIG shits who steal & torture animals for fun.
It's about time we stopped making excuses for other people's bad parenting.
Give dad a 28 day custodial sentence for the pain & suffering his daughter
caused this poor family.
I guarentee his parenting skills will improve over night.
And if it was down to me I'd have reported this 'father' to the child protection services for child neglect.
It's time to stop handling these little shits with kid gloves - if they are too young to prosecute - nick their parents & then "name & shame" the whole family.

- Dawn, if it helps, I have not spoken to Jayne, to be honest I thought she wanted my number to check I was a real person and not a fake account.
- 2015-10-06 22:58 AlisonH
- Dawn Jayne is not on duty tonight to respond to your post but I have sent an email to make her aware.

- Admin-at present all we know is that you have received a phone call from a gentleman saying he is 'Alice's' father and explaining some details. However we really do not know whether the information he has provided is actually the truth and until we do, I would prefer it if you did not get people to call you In private to presumably tell them what has been said......we have kept a dignified silence on this page deliberately until we know all the facts......however no one on here can understand what emotions we went through thinking Izzy had been found, only then to come crashing down when we found it was a hoax.....this has been absolutely devastating to us

- So what is the full story, dad seems sympathetic so could he shed any light on the reason behind Alice's post?
- 2015-10-04 14:08 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- LindaT...This has been arranged with Alices Father.
- 2015-10-04 08:30 LindaT
- Words fail me except to say it would be a good start if "Alice" offered to pay for the extra expense to Doglost for the tech guys to have looked into her IP address details etc, and by doing so it will mean Izzy and other dogs are not deprived of the help they need to be reunited to their families. Perhaps her father can arrange a payment plan with his daughter? It doesn`t make what she has done any less shameful, but it will help to show remorse by making sure Doglost doesn`t loose vital and scarce funds it has cost.

- I pinked my own post...watch this space and please do not judge too harshly...I pinked myself after talking to Alices father and talking to Izzy's owners.

- Words fail me on how anyone could do such a cruel ,heartless thing.I really hope this gets some publicity and that in turn brings Izzy home.
- 2015-10-01 08:45 Mel
- Its heartbreaking for Izzys owners after thinking she has been found. Alice must have never owned a dog and realised the total love you have for them; they are just one of the family. Hope Izzy comes home soon. Mel x

- I suspect Alice is very young and naive (or she would have known that anything you do on the Internet can be traced), and is probably undergoing a huge learning experience at the moment. I hope she has read all the comments on Izzy's Facebook page and asked herself if that is what she wants people to think of her. if she is one of the kids who have plagued Izzy's family before then words fail me...how can anyone be so cruel?
- 2015-09-30 19:27 Karis
- well the doglost community are up in arms about this-what truly dreadful thing to do-I know theres no cure for stupid, but this goes beyond the pall-what a heartless act this is-thoughts to izzys owners, and the doglost people, who are dreadfully upset also.
- 2015-09-30 16:10 fionap58
- You're right Bo, I know some people deserve understanding and she is very apologetic so hopefully a lesson learned but I would still like to know why. What void does it fill, what is the purpose. Is it attention, revenge, spite.......? Perhaps Alice could provide an answer as I'm genuinely curious.
- 2015-09-29 20:54 c
- I find it hard to feel sorry for anyone who would do this. Why would "alice" put a devoted dog owner through this, it is very wrong xxx
- 2015-09-29 20:01 Bo
- Fiona - If you look at the profiles of people like "Alice" - you would more than likely feel sorry for them and their sad lives. Perhaps "Alice" will learn from this lesson and go on to be a nice young woman who makes a positive difference to help where she can. Let's hope so.

- Alice. You should be ASHAMED of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- 2015-09-29 19:10 Alice
- I am truly very sorry to the family and everyone for what I have done.
- 2015-09-29 19:10 fionap58
- After being on the end of several hoax calls when I was looking for my dog i'd love some insight into why on earth she did it if someone knows.
- 2015-09-29 18:29 Hollieberry
- I do not think for one moment that you will understand the upset you have caused the owners Alice not to mention other peoples time and expense .Only the threat of police action has brought on an apology.

- Hi I am very sorry and I apologise to the family. Hope you find Izzy.
- 2015-09-29 15:07 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Izzys owners have contacted and want to pursue the matter with the police...we have said we will release full details to the police for this person.
- 2015-09-29 10:26 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- We have full details of the person who registered...but of course we are left with the bill for our techies time looking into this. Have sent details to our police co-ordinator to look into further...we apologise to owners of Izzy for such a cruel stunt.

- Thanks Lesley we are looking into the registration.

- The police will be able to trace the IP address of the PC or device that this was posted from. Anyone sick enough to want to cause Izzy's owners further heartache, after all they've already been through, deserve everything that's coming to them.
It's so sick :( - 2015-09-28 22:58 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Breed was registered as:
Female Cross Breed
Named IZZY
Marks Light brown nose and pink collar
North West
M26 - 2015-09-28 22:54 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- Sorry everyone this does look like it is a HOAX. The breed, area and postcode have been changed from original registration.
Sadly there are some sick people in this world who have nothing better to do than cause upset to owners searching for their pets.
- 2015-09-28 22:23 Skywalker99
- It says on Izzy's Facebook page that this is a hoax. Is there any way this could be turned round and used to get some coverage for izzy in the national press, her owners have worked so hard and this is not the first hoax they have had (and probably will not be the last).
- 2015-09-28 22:19 MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
- Alice could you please add a photo of the dog you have found? Are you able to visit a vet to scan for a microchip, if you haven't already? Have you contacted your local dog warden?
- 2015-09-28 21:23 fionap58
- Why would anyone waste their time doing something so pointless? With a phone call they get to hear the owners distress and that seems to be how these weirdos get their jollies but this makes no sense. I take it the phone number is fake?
- 2015-09-28 21:00 Claire Ellie's Mum
- Area code for phone number is for Chelmsford . They have used the exact same wording For her colour as was on her original lost post I believe . I think this is likely to be a hoax sadly . 😓💔
- 2015-09-28 20:55 Claire Ellie's Mum
- Izzy"s family have been through enough without people messing with their heads . It would be amazing if this was true but why would they register the found dog now and not when it was found in May . And no photo !!
- 2015-09-28 20:02 Skywalker99
- Izzy's owners have just responded to a message saying they are looking into this but believe it to be a hoax, if it is then there are some very sad individuals in this world.
