- About two weeks ago I emailed a lady I know who works in Thorney (not Thorney Toll) and she sent an email to staff incase anyone heard of anyone searching. Thorney Toll are houses that flank the A47 but Thorney is a village.

- Lesley. You did what you could, and that is all that matters. I am positive they watch you in spirit. A friend of mine has seen his late dogs happily playing in spirit. His partner has seen them too. And finfs it quite conforting to know that they are still around you. Thanks for the update Lesley and God Bless you for helping the dog.

- I took scanner with me (updated). Pooch has gone so think collected by council. Primrose kennels called them in the week. When I find deceased animals along the A47 I take them to Paddons Vet. I don't know what council would have come out. Fenland dog warden collect strays from Paddons in Wisbech so perhaps environment deprt of Fenland. So collected 30 Sept 2015.
I am so sorry pooch that I couldn't lift you. Your spirit runs free and full of health. I often wonder if in spirit they sit watching as you help them. RIP pooch. xx hugs and love xx - 2015-09-30 17:50 digbysmum

- Ok, I managed to stop tonight. Unfortunately I couldn't help pooch be safe. I knelt on the grass verge and leaned over onto the A47 to lift up but cars passing closely - pooch is so heavy and I couldn't lift her / him so I think if lost it is recently. I couldn't stand on the A47 as rush hour. Typically, every time I leave my scanner at home to remind me to update, I find an animal. I have left details of markings on the profile - think yes a spaniel. Could be liver or black. Mainly white. Think a shorter snout. If you have any matches please leave them here. I will try and pull over tomorrow to scan. Please share. I am off to pilates now so will check lost dogs tomorrow.
I am so sorry little one that I cannot rescue you. Sleep tight x - 2015-09-29 16:15 Unknown
- Lesley. Of course you are right it is not the dog`s fault he had been trained do hare coursing if this is the case. Just irresponsible, cruel, and callous owners. Of course we dont know for certain, and of course we all know that hare coursing is illegal in the UK

- Helen and Jayne aware.
I was unable to stop during rush hour traffic on this occasion. I will try tomorrow. Telephoned nearest business, Primrose Kennels, who said they contacted Cambs Council. They said a spaniel but 100% coat grey and lurcher legs (or Saluki). Possibly, as Helen suggested, from coursing. If run after a hare from the fields, may well have headed across the A47. If I can reach pooch tomorrow I will take the dog to Paddons Vet. Pooch deserves to be safe even if bad people have taught him bad things. Again I am 100% sure not a spaniel.
