Flash has made good progress since he was caught and is really enjoying the luxury of a warm bed and lots of TLC x

Thank heavens!!! My heart was sinking with all the 'help' from people who really are genuine but do all the wrong things. Well done everyone - I know from experience the joy you'll be feeling as I was part of the Bella team that managed to reunite Bella from her extended holiday in Devon just over a week or so ago. Prepare yourselves for not knowing what on earth to do with your lives now :D Congratulations - a lot of hard work paying off for a lovely dog xxx

Fantastic to see this. The one l caught was supposed to go to local rescue too but never made it. One of the most affectionate aloof dogs Ive ever owed. Well done to everyone who helped to catch Flash.

Delighted to report that this boy nicknamed ' Flash' by local people has just been caught !
I understand once he was caught the warden was called and that he will be going to a rescue
So happy he is now safe and will update with some photos taken of him in the last couple of days as he was being coaxed by a great team of local people . A very big well done to them !

Just to update that a group of local very dedicated people are working together to try and gain this dogs trust and are doing very well too ! They are using the correct body language etc but other people are turning up and chasing after him which is so frustrating and undoing the good work done so far !

People mean well but sometimes they do not realise the harm they are causing .I do hope that people keep away from the area till this dog gains some ones trust from the people keeping an eye on it .

I have already told the ladies keeping an eye out for him all of this and that he is in survival mode.posts from fb are being removed due to the location been given out. This poor dog is seriously at risk.

catchpoles wont work with this breed, they are extremely mistrusting. feed station is best way, is there local farm that will allow access?, it needs to be on dogs usual route. Jumanji is experienced & I can get access to computer to offer advice & help. I have one at home that took a month to get in a trap. A fox trap isn't big enough & the more people freaking it out will make it harder to catch. Food is the only thing keeping it in same area. I know from my dog how shifty they can be

I've advised against catch poles and suggested a feeding station is set up by one of the chaps feeding him. Unfortunately the local people have had no support on how/what to do to help him. Hence why I posted on here. He is being seen frequently in fields and has been hit 3 times by a car so the people of Selby are doing there best tohhelp him and get him safe asap

I really wouldn't advise the use of catch poles and it's concerning to hear a lot of people have been trying to catch him as the presence of too many people will make him feel threatened and may scare him off and he will move to another area where he feels safer.
Regular feeding in the same place by the same person or just one
or two people is the best approach and we can advise re trapping but success will be hampered if food is being left in other areas by well meaning people.

From posts on FB somebody has been feeding this dog daily for the past 2 weeks, seems a foxtrap has already been tried, also have a lot of people been out tonight to try and catch it, next thing they are trying is using catch poles!!

As someone who caught exactly same breed some years ago, the less people who know where he is the better. Using a trap in a secure area would be best. My own was out 9 months - over bad winter before been caught in a trap - which took a month. It can be done but dog must have trust and regular food. Setting up feeding place in quiet area is first place to start. These dogs can easily scale 6ft+ walls when scared so needs to either be trapped or caught in totally secure area.

Poor dog straying for such a long time and the days are getting shorter and colder I do hope the people watching the dog and I hope feeding manage to gain the dogs trust x
