Fiona has been found! Actually, she wandered up to some workmen and handed herself in! She's on her way back to Makants now. Such a MASSIVE relief. 😂

No sightings today! Though we have heard of one more on Sunday that indicates Fiona came off the A6 and possibly headed back towards home. She was seen in a field being chased by a lad on a bike and one other. The lad on the bike may be the same one who offered to help Natalie's father earlier when his car was unable to go along the street Fiona was running down due to bollards. We don't think he will have been able to catch her, but just in case he did and still has her, Makants have offered a reward of £500 for information leading to her safe return. He did offer to help, and we don't want to think badly of anyone who does that, but it would explain why she seems to have disappeared after that last sighting. She may be lying low. But it's been two days....

Thanks for keeping this up to date, Claire. There have been no sightings since the hour or two post Fiona slipping her collar (which was 4:30pm not 6:30pm - but no matter - that must have got lost in translation somewhere). Matt saw her during that time. Her owner, Natalie, is out looking in the area she was last seen, heading down the A6, in the middle of the road, towards Torkington Park. Apparently, people were trying to move her off the road onto the pavement. I despair that not one person thought to call the dog warden or the police! I hope that she has gone into the park and is lying low and that that explains the lack of sightings. Beyond the park, the road and train intersection is busy....and very worrying. I have made a report to Network Rail. How efficient they are under these circumstances, I do not know. Hopefully, someone from Makants will be checking the train line today. Fiona came from an awful trainer in Manchester (banned recently for drugging the dogs), then spent about 6 months with a trainer in the North East (who the owner never paid for kennelling!) before I blagged her a space at Makants for him. She waited in the NE for a few months for that space. She was rehomed last Friday, after only a few weeks in rescue. Things were looking up for this girl. Hoping and praying she is still out there, waiting to be found so she can enjoy the life on a sofa she deserves. Christina (facebook page admin)Last edited: 2015-10-20 08:39:23

I saw Fiona last night at around 5.30pm. I was at my parents house on Hillcrest Road, Offerton and saw a dog identical to Fiona's picture and description running down the road next to the field (towards Dialstone Lane). I assumed at the time that the dog was with his/her owner. Really sorry to hear about your loss and i wish you the very best of luck in finding her

Whereabouts in Offerton has she gone missing from? I'm up near Woodbank Park end so will keep an eye out when I take mine in there

Fiona has been missing a whole day now, and as there have been no sightings since this time yesterday Makants Greyhound rescue are offering A REWARD OF £200 for the sighting that leads to Fiona getting back home safely with her new family.

Please note the reward is not for Fiona's safe return. We don't want everyone out there chasing her and trying to catch her for a reward because she'll be very frightened by now and chasing her is likely to spook her. This reward is for a sighting that leads to her return. So, perhaps she'll wander into your garden and you can keep her there until Natalie arrives, or maybe you'll see her somewhere and be able to get her to wait until Natalie arrives.

So keep your eyes peeled and put these numbers in your phone: 07595 902582 and 07960 561988.

Let's get this girly home and back on her sofa before it gets dark!
