Hollieberry? Yoiu mentioned sedatives. My friend uses something called "Anxiety" specially for cats, and dogs. She uses it when she takes her cat to the vet as the cat is so nervous, but it does`nt make the cat sleepy just more relaxed. perhaps that was the kind of thing you meant.

Yay!!! Gardens and yards are great places for feeding stations, keeping a dog safe and then trapping them as they don't feel threatened. So many on here are caught this way. In fact I have a rescue dog that was loose for 4 days before someone shut him in their garden. Hollieberry...when you're worried about a dog you will try anything and I knew about sedatives as that's what I came up with when my dog went missing, well actually it was a dart gun!

Jolola has just text me with the fantastic news that this boy has just been caught !!!!
A trap had been set up where he was visiting regularly for food but the people there have just managed to shut the garden gate and trap him !
A very big well done and thankyou to the people who registered him on Doglost and have been feeding him regularly and gradually gaining his trust . Also to jolola and her partner who have done so much and given so much of their time to help the dog warden with this boy and of course everyone else who has been helping ... great team effort !
I would also add that I totally agree with Fionap58 regards the use of sedatives and the people trying to catch this dog have done exactly the right things .... feeding station , trap. ( even though he hadn't gone in it ) and then gaining his trust enough to be able to contain him in their garden !

fioap58 I totally agree with you that is the only way to catch this dog, you are quite right sedatives should not be used silly me coming out with such a thought. My heart really goes out to this dog I just wish he would give himself up but he must have his own reasons for mistrusting people.

No that's ok Me n my girl . I have further information and It seems on Friday morning he ran into the side of a car that was stationary in backed up traffic with enough force to dent the car . The lady driver said he ran off afterwards but people who have seen him since said he was limping so there must be an injury.

I wouldn't put sedatives in his food, he may stumble into traffic again or fall asleep somewhere unsuitable or where he can't be found and then he's really at risk if he's injured and poorly. As long as he shows himself again and people have had the right advice on how to catch him then it will happen. It does say in other info that you can't get close to him as he's too quick but you will NEVER catch a dog by chasing him, you have to play a waiting game and trap him in a garden or similar or set up a feeding station and then use a trap.

This poor dog may go to ground now he is injured very prone to neck injuries these breeds I do hope he is caught asap .Would it be possible to out sedatives in his food .Damn fireworks they are a real worry !

This boy has apparently run into the side of a car and is now injured. Since this happened he has not returned to the area where a feeding station has been set up but has been sighted in KILNHURST and SWINTON.
There is a group of people trying to catch this boy but there is an increasing worry that we have firework season approaching !

Nights are getting too cold now especially for an undernourished dog.I do hope you can catch him somehow soon .

Have spoken with the dog warden and they are working together with some local people to try and catch this boy.

So many of these dogs out at the minute. Is anyone local enough to set up a feed station? They are dreadful foodies especially if been left. If secure feeding place can be set up trapping can be considered, local stray kennels are really good too - known the owners for a long time.
