- Hi, a lady posted on facebook about a greyhound 'type' dog (she doesn't know what breed or exact colouring's as it was at night) was running down the A6 between Quorn and Mountsorrel, Leicester LE12 area. It unfortunately was knocked over and passed away last evening. She reported it to the council who say they will scan it. I have posted details in found section on here, but really worth looking into.

- Been out again this afternoon searching for this dog. Because there are no crops, its possible to get a good clear view for miles over the fields, and I was using binoculars. Absolutely no sightings at all. Spoke to a number of people and a rider, but no one has seen it at all. Been right round the perimeter track of Kendrew Barracks as well.
Suggested to the lady (first mobile number) who is helping the owner that he comes and leaves a urine trail to a point near where the dog was dumped and leave some of his clothing and biscuits in the hope he will come back to that point.
Also suggested he poster the houses leaving Mkt Overton on the Thistleton road and also the pub and shop. Have also been round the little industrial estate as whilst this is fenced, there is access to the fields, and thought maybe he would go searching for food, although there are plenty of rabbits and pheasants!
Are there any other volunteers in this area who could help? - 2015-10-28 13:47 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
- Thanks CG, the owner is aware of this dog and I'm sure this will be sorted as the Dog Warden is involved.

- That is my understanding that both dogs were dumped and one dog has been found, I'm not sure where they were dumped in Market Overton though.
AJD do give the owner a call/text for further details as I'm sure he would be grateful of any help. - 2015-10-28 12:37 AJD
- PS Forget my comment re. the dog in Essex, I see its moved to "Reunited". Good news for someone.

Is it certain that both dogs were dumped at MktOverton? I ask as there are people out searching, but there has not been a single sighting, which is unusual for a rural location. I am sure late last night I saw a listing for a Saluki found in Essex, but I can't see it this morning. - 2015-10-28 12:18 Helen - Regional Co-ordinator - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridge
- It seems the dog found at Darlington sadly is not a match for Snowball, although it is a very good likeness.
- 2015-10-28 12:16 AJD
- Any news? Is the dog in Darlington Snowball? I can't see a link to it. Also, did I see on the "Found" pages yesterday a Saluki found in Essex ? Southend?? I didn't pay any heed as I had understood that both dogs were definitely dumped at MArket Overton.

- Any information please regarding where in Market Overton these dogs were dumped/other dog was found? May just help as I will go out and search, but its a very foggy day here and visibility really restricted so won't be able to see far over the fields.

- Sorry to see that SNOWBALL is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (93730)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
