Sad update: a man's body has been found in a wood at Sible Hedingham, according to Police. Foul Play not currently suspected. FaceBook group Find Gordon Wilson has postponed organised search planned for next weekend.

Still missing, but another search is being organised for the end of January 2016. Will post again when date has been decided.
Family disappointed at numbers helping at last search, but recognised that people were working and are taking it into consideration this time.

They are near Bishops Stortford .
But members on there are far and wide.

I believe Gillian is te daughter and she states this on Essex police website:
They are continuing to search around Sible Heddingham. It is very rural so they are concerned about the safety of the searchers - this is why there haven't been any more public searches. They have been working tirelessly. My sister and I took them chocolates and biscuits yesterday. Thanks! G x

Doglove and Rose: I regret I'm just crossposting and have no other knowledge. (My mother went walkabout, so I feel for the family.)
Remember all the sightings so far seem to be nearly 2weeks ago. Surely any relevant scent would have been lost by now. 😒

Police now seeking two motorcylists who helped an elderly man up from a fall. He refused further help and continued towards SIBLE HEDINGHAM on the day he went missing.

I believe police would have used human scent detection search dogs. Perhaps the trail went cold if he boarded a bus? I know the police are trying very hard on this case. Well done everyone.

Sorry CopperM. Are you referring to the post of 2 Nov where specialist teams brought in? Did they also cover the Halstead Area. Could he have boarded a bus in Halstead going towards the Suffolk area, if buses go that way? Just a thought.

I think Gordon should be featured on the main BBC, ITV and SKY news channels..He could have travelled on many buses or trains and could be in Scotland now....Hope this lovely man is found soon and back in the care of his familyxx

UPDATE: Members of the public are invited to join officers tomorrow afternoon in a further search of the Halstead area for missing Gordon Wilson.

Volunteers should meet at midday in the car park in Butler Road, at the junction with Trinity Street for a safety briefing.

Volunteers will be responsible for their own safety, they should bring appropriate walking and wet weather clothing and carry a mobile phone. They will be searching fields and woodland.

Children, ill or infirm people and dogs will unfortunately not be allowed to be involved in the search.

Please bring food and drink to cover lunch and make sure you are fit and not under the influence of drink or drugs.


UPDATE: We're still searching for missing Gordon. Searches are now being carried out in the ‪#‎Halstead‬ area after a bus driver remembered a man fitting the 82-year-old's description getting off the 352 bus at the final stop at 1.30pm on Sunday, October 25 and walking in the direction of Butler Road.

Mr Wilson’s daughters Lesley Rankin and Gillian Wilson said: “Our dad visited Halstead with our mum many years ago and it’s possible he’s come back here to re-live happier times. He may have gone strolling in the lovely countryside because it reminds him of his late wife.”

Story was on Essex Radio this morning. Just a thought, has anyone seen the TV programme Hunted, where people are on the run. With all the technology the professionals used to catch them, ie CCTV, Service Tills, Mobile phones etc, why are the Police not looking at or monitoring all these. Maybe they are, but if they are, Gordon should be found soon. If he has made his way to London to get a Train to Glasgow, then there will definitely be CCTV in the Station. Praying he will be found soon.

What a worry! Hope Gordon will be found safe, and weel very soon. I know people suffering from demrentia have a fairly good long term memory but not a short one. I know because have had two family members who suffered from it. And they tend tol "Live in the past" this is why he is trying to get to Glasgow where he used to work All xd.
