- A lot of people heading out today in terrible conditions to find this dog. Owner has done early food station checks..untouched..they are just heading to kemble barn now to check that. All of Cirencester..Kemble...Coates...Ewen...Siddington etc need publicity to have eyes open for Buz. Check shefs..barns etc. If you belong to facebook groups in this area please put a note on to help find this black lab who has been lost for first time in his life..out since 9am last sunday. - hello :) tomorrow we are organising searches of the surrounding area last seen trying to predict his route home. I've written on his facebook - help find Buz - a plan that people divide into small groups and search areas when is appropriate to them. Searches best around Kemble, kemble farm, Chesterton farm area, Thames path. Canal path , Coates incase he comes home and the back of the Ag college. My thanks again everyone for their help. I have written on his fb that there is a couple of shoots tomorrow so please be cautious around that and obviously dogs on leads etc. Lady bathhurst has kindly given us permission to search but dogs on leads place. Thanks everyone for the support and help. Hopefully hear from someone tomorrow with a sighting :)Last edited: 2015-11-07 00:13:25 by jodawson

- Lots of activity this evening between Love Lane in Cirencester over through chesterton to A429 and over that to RAU/Coates...his probable triangulation route. If you know anyone in coates planning fireworks tonight pl ask them to consider this dog seems very close to home now so explosions are the last thing the dog and searchers need. Any publicity about this if you are on local facebook groups wld be appreciatedLast edited: 2015-11-06 17:20:31 by Jot cotswolds

- I have just got back from hankerton..lots of folk searching. We were getting mixed messages from locals...some heard that a loose black lab from church farm was friendly but a local dogwalker I met with my search-chum Pip told us just before 5pm that the church farm black lab was a nervous one...so the frightened lab reported to owner this aft' at hankerton may not be buz. Dark by then so Pip and I headed home and walking conditions in the fields there were hard...waterlogged mudLast edited: 2015-11-05 18:30:37 by Jot cotswolds

Then seen by texico garage abbey way.
No sightings since. Please everyone keep a look out - 2015-11-05 07:41 Jot cotswolds
- Food untouched overnight. Looks like he may be working in triangular pattern which means today he may trycto move from woods just north of centre of Kemble towards Coates/Roysl Ag/Cirencester. This involved crossingctwo busy main routes. Very nervous dog now. Owners need any sightings at all..they are trying to be in strategic places today based on his probable movements.
- 2015-11-04 18:08 Jot cotswolds
- latest: he has gone to ground in woods...a nervous dog so they need to be careful not to scare him now. Laying a scent...focus is on triangular area between the two sets of woods on the left of this aerial shot and Ewen on the right. Family need to lure him out with scenting and food...lots of folk shouting will have the adverse effect. They feel positive it is him - more details on facebook page Help Find Buz https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.6785712,-1.9990696,1219m/data=!3m1!1e3

- Lady B just called..she has just landed in kemble on the train and is trying to help....her residents in her Kemble holiday cottages DID see a black lab this morning...running fairly scared. They are going to try and help this evening. There IS a barn there on the holiday cottages site and she wonders if he may have slept in there last night..worth a check by owners later tonight if no news on the current search taking place right now by Buz's dad and other family members. ...she is happy to stay on location and help if she can in any way. Have just relayed this new info to Jo Dawson..Buz's owner. Key thing tonight if he IS there is not to have him scared onto the road or railway.

- Molly..on facebook people need to know more precisely...in the fields on the right as you go into kemble..but from which direction?? As you head south into kemble from Cirencester or as you head north from Crudwell?? UPDATE: owner has confirmed sighting was as you head into Kemble from Cirencester on a429 going south, in fields alongside canal path on the right just before you hit KembleLast edited: 2015-11-04 16:45:12 by Jot cotswolds

- The sighting in kemble along Thames path may well be Buz. Spoken to man who saw him and apparently he was definitely on his own and watched him go in and out of where the water usually is ( which is very like Buz and frequently does that when we are at the Thames path if no water ) he wasn't aware of a dog missing so didn't catch him sadly. Have searched the area a lot today and with a drone which doesn't reveal anything .... Hoping someone spots him soon

- Thanks all for comments and help. The sighting was in the fields on the right as you go into Kemble off the Tetbury rd. Ive suggested Smerril dairy need alerting. So many people have heard about Buz, his owners couldn't be trying harder to find him!. This poss sighting totally makes sense as he was headed in that direction when he vanished .

- 2015-11-04 09:40 jodawson
- Thank you for that. We are hoping to get jenny and tiga soon but they are very busy.
There has been a possible sighting along Thames path - man overheard in kemble post office saying he saw Buz along there yesterday. Didn't say where on Thames path and didn't call.. But a possible hope I can cling onto - 2015-11-04 09:04 Lin Iddon
- If it's any help - when one my cockers went missing in that area he disappeared from fields ACROSS the road from the Trouble House. He managed to cross the A433, run up and down it for some distance, following his owners scent who had been searching the ditches and hedgerows, cover some fields and was finally tracked to some land behind the Trouble House (which was being renovated at the time). This all happened very late at night. Jenny and his owner were aware of an animal hiding but didn't know what it was and didn't want to spook it. When dogs go missing and get lost they shut down very quickly, survival instinct kicks in and they lay low during daylight, usually moving at dawn and dusk. When Smudge was found he would not even look at his owner...... he turned his back and just howled....Mollychops you were brilliant, you probably don't remember meeting me in Tesco's carpark! Smudge is No 62680 on reunited. I hope you find your boy soon.

- Hello.
A friend has emailed the Beaufort hunt And they have forwarded this on to all there members . Most game keepers no from here to tetbury on both sides of the road. No sightings at all . The same friend has emailed a lot of people in tarlton/ rodmartin etc so they are all aware. We have spent the day putting posters up in the area and my husband and friends have trawled through the thick bush/undergrowth in the area which he went missing at so we now are comfortable he is not hooked on fencing etc. Sue from dog lost went to examine the air shafts which look all fenced. Husband is currently down at hailey woods as reports earlier of barking dog .
We have arranged for a drone tomorrow but most of the land is covered in thick bramble esp drone would only seen if in open ground. Also have got a map of all the outbuildings / farm buildings efc where he could be hiding/ looked there but no joy.
We have heard back from dog tracker and she is away at the moment sadly. Hope to hear from her tomorrow . - 2015-11-03 16:35 Jot cotswolds
- Just done 40 mins out around Rodmarto, Tarlton, tunnel house and Coates. Not a sound..total silence everywhere I stopped to call his name. Had car engine off each time to hear any small sound. Better visibility onto fields today but no sign. So sorry. Any response from jenny at k9 if she can help?x

- Has anyone contacted the Beaufort Hunt? Send them the poster with contact numbers. They have access to local land owners, farmers and game keepers either by email or their website, thus reaching many people that it would normally be impossible to contact. I had a cocker go missing a while ago from land across from the Trouble House, so same area. Once word was out with the hunt the phones started ringing with sightings. Also Jenny and Tiga came up from Kent very late at night and tracked him. We found him the very next morning at exactly the spot he was tracked to the night before. My boy was missing 3 days. Hope you find him.

Also put some of your clothes out for him.

- Thanka for all the help. A source from the Bathurst ( Alexander bathhurst wife) and said all shafts have been fenced off now and that was 3 years ago and a labrador is very unlikely to get into it - a terrier perhaps. The source in tarlton who said she saw a black lab yesterday which we had earlier discounted as we thought a lady with a horse owned the labrador has confirmed it was not her dog. So it still could have been Buz and in that case leaving tarlton heading doen the bendy road towards jolly nice eventually. My husband is looking up there this evening . Husband has searched the railway line from tetbury road to tunnel and nothing to be seen. They have been into hailey wood again but no luck. Posters coming tomorrow am so will be putting up in the morning . Thanks again everyone Last edited: 2015-11-02 21:33:52 by jodawson

- Not sure if this will help, there are several photos, describing a walk by the South Cotswold Ramblers, but there is one of a shaft in the wood (15th photo) which may help you identify them when looking. Would it be worth contacting the Ramblers they may know of more?

- Well done team Buz! and thank you to lady Bathurst for helping.
- 2015-11-02 16:47 Jot cotswolds
- Can you get a map to David and Jo then Molly so they can start searching? They need to rally as many friends as they can. Safety needs to be high...the estate office may be able to help guide them. If Buz has got down one of these his chances are very slim, so another party of helpers needs to focus on the area still - fields, railway etc. The Royal Ag' may be able to rally helpers...
- 2015-11-02 16:41 Mollychops

- Lady B' said they should show up on large scale OS mapping..but that her estate office may be able to help with mapping advice on them..so yes ..as I said in earlier post...contact them asap and ask for any knowledge...some are uncovered and deep (often look like earthy mounds up top). Lady B' wants to be kept informed of progress as she is hugely concerned about the dog. I think you need an army of helpers to comb between Coates and the tunnel house..mist today was so thick I couldn't see into fields, with a second swathe of help focusing on these air shafts...and yes I advise expert knowledge and help as they are deep. If he HAS got onto the railway line he may follow it on either direction as dogs see the tracks as a trail, and there is a big railway tunnel there but you need network rail's assistance at all costs. Contact www.k9tracker.co.uk - jenny and her tracker dog helped with a beagle lost in the same place months ago.
- 2015-11-02 15:41 jodawson
- These are shafts seem a sensible place to look but worried they are too dangerous to just look by ourselves . I wonder if I contact bathhurst estate whether they could help out ?
- 2015-11-02 14:52 Mollychops
- Ive just been for a drive around and met up with owners , who have searched the area tirelessly. Network rail have been notifed and posters will be going up soon, Everyone we met seems to be aware and is looking out for Buz
- 2015-11-02 13:12 Jot cotswolds
- Lady Bathurst just very kindly called me...saying she knows this chap and will try to intervene with him if she can....he does not own that land..the estate does. She is very concerned about this dog and suggests getting a large scale map of hailey wood as she avoids there with her own dogs due to these shafts...her estate office may be able to help with location maps of them too (she is away herself at the moment). Lady B' also reiterated the rail line notificaton as it is SO close to the dog's loss area. All the villages need postering like mad around there...but get those shafts inspected quickly. She has asked me to let her know any news.
- 2015-11-02 11:59 Mollychops
- Hailey wood has many air shafts running through it above the tunnel . Some may not be covered. I know who he is and will pay him a visit later
- 2015-11-02 10:40 jodawson
- yea I no him. David my husband spoke to him. we were on a footpath and no sheep around hence why he was off the lead. Thank you for the info
- 2015-11-02 10:38 Jot cotswolds
- Incidentally..lane between Coates and Tarlton had a farm on it with a farm dog sitting by roadway..totally undisturbed at 0920-0930'ish so I don't think Buz had been there around then. If tunnel house staff or cotswold canals trust can tell you if there's any wells/pits around there he may have fallen into it may be helpful.
- 2015-11-02 10:34 Jot cotswolds
- He wasn't talkative..played dumb with me initially as if he was unaware of the dog missing, then said David Dawson had seen him yesterday about it..older chap (no teeth!)..was adamant he'd shoot it due to his sheep and kept saying it should be on a lead in that area. I explained it was a docile dog and plenty of folk were out looking to help. I asked if he'd take your details in case he saw it but he didn't. Had a saw in his hand and he was making me a bit nervous.

- Really ? Did you take his name as Spoken to the owner of most of the land around there ? That's worrying . We are all still out looking . Thank you Last edited: 2015-11-02 10:30:16 by jodawson

- Have facebooked owner with this info but dog needs finding asap- I went out searching this morning- met a guy near entrance to tunnel house access lane at 0940'ish who says he is the owner of this stretch of canal and if he sees the dog he will shoot it as he has sheep there. Says dogs have to be on leads along the towpath. He meant it...so searches are badly needed today. I drove around Tarlton etc and up to the tunnel house..no signLast edited: 2015-11-02 10:16:37 by Jot cotswolds

- Owner has texted to say nothing as yet. The sighting was described as a small lab, and Buz is a large dog
