Since sighting last Thursday no further sightings, feeding stations plus trap set up and infra red camera....disheartened that the Travel Lodge and Services have removed all her posters,. spoke to manager, called Sam and will re poster area for the third time....Will be three weeks tomorrow, I'm heart broken...have searched every day for hours and hours since she went missing and scented the area as much as possible to try and keep her drawn there....checked as many rabbit holes as possible. Get Reading, two other local papers and two local radio stations have done reports on Bonnie...I think sightings/posters would be vital now, if anyone in area or surrounding areas can print off Dogs Lost poster and put some up would be so appreciated. Have asked for area of sighting to be kept clear of people searching...Bonnie is less likely to return if she thinks people are there. The trap/food stations are being checked at regular hours by the most brilliant local people without disturbing the area as much as possible. Come on Bonnie....really do need you home sweetheart x

My brother has found a dog in the Horspath, Oxford area just now. It is described as a very small brown and white female jack Russell. He has taken her to Wheatley Vest to check for a chip, there is no chip, the vet thinks she is approx 3 years old however it looks like a puppy. My brother will inform the dog warden. The dog is with him at the moment. If this is your dog or you think you know who this belongs to please contact his work number 01865 875443. I will ring him approx 3pm to see if he still has her. Am happy to take her in short term til owners are found"
The found dog didn't have a chip
She's being shared on doglost Oxfordshire but no photo as yet

One of the traps is being lent out by myself, but it is very small, and I brought it originally to catch a loose rabbit.

UPDATE**********
Ok, so the plan for today is for Lisa to set up a food station near where Bonnie was sighted & wait by herself in the hope Bonnie will appear. At this point we would ask everyone if they can stop actively searching & calling for Bonnie as it may scare her further away. She is unlikely to come to anyone other than Lisa anyway.
What we would ask please, is if everyone in the area can remain vigilant when they're out & about on the westbound side of the M4 & if you do spot Bonnie, please DO NOT approach her but telephone either myself or Rachael as quickly as possible with the location to pass on to Lisa.
We know it's really hard to just sit on your hands & feel like you're not doing anything but honestly guys, you couldn't have done any more than you have already & now we just need to allow Bonnie to have enough courage to come out to her mum.

update from bonnie's facebook page ...I know you're all waiting for news about Bonnie & I wish I had something to tell you but sadly Bonnie did not make an appearance tonight and everyone is bitterly disappointed. To be honest, the main thing that is keeping everyone going & in particular, Lisa & Rachael is your incredible support & the amazing outpouring of love for Bonnie! We have never witnessed anything like it & even though it's not always possible to respond to every question or like every comment, we promise we are acutely aware of your continued presence!
A big thank you to those of you who turned up with bbqs tonight, the lengths people are going to for this little dog are amazing & we are truly humbled by you all.
Please stick with us, we still need you.

****QUICK UPDATE****
As some of you already know, there has been a sighting of Bonnie today which is looking positive.
So we have a change of plan- please can everyone intending to go out to look for Bonnie today, hold off whilst Lisa is out looking with her dogs so as to not scare Bonnie further away.

We are so so appreciative of everything you are doing & your tremendous support & love for Bonnie and hope you will bear with us at the moment.

We promise to keep you updated with any news as soon as we can!! Xxxxx

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
A Lady has just rung doglost from the services after seeing the doglost poster to say she has sighted Bonnie in trees behind the Reading services...have passed her number onto owners so they can get a more detailed area from her.
Julie Newton
For all you wonderful people who are local to the area where Bonnie went missing & are still able to help, we now ask you if you are able, to concentrate looking for her on the westbound side of the M4 in the fields behind the services that lead up to the pig farm & beyond. The main reasons for this are because Tiga picked up a strong scent of Bonnie in this area & also because a dog who could possibly have been Bonnie was seen in a field in the distance through binoculars.
So please, if you can, take a walk up there with your dogs, take binoculars if you have them & call her name & also Russco, Charlie, Peety & Pixie as these dogs are her family & she might appear if she thinks they are there! There is a public footpath right across this land so you are entitled to walk across it.
Julie Newton
UPDATE from Rachel... Day 9
The sighting in Oxford Road was confirmed to be a local jack russell who's owners had moved from one end of the road to the other and he keeps escaping to try and go back to his old house! We were humbled to see how many people went to search for her in that area last night and today, your support has just been outstanding and we are so very grateful. As most of you know we had the lovely Jenny and Tiga from K9 Trackers help us search for the lovely Bonnie. Jenny has been away but said she's been inundated with so many requests to help dear little Bonnie so we were her top priority 😄 Lisa and I met Jenny at the services at 11am this morning and Tiga picked up on her scent immediately. It was very emotional to see the exact steps Bonnie took (potentially that same night she went missing) he took us all over and to the exact same spot where me and Lisa have been drawn to all this time, which is at the back of the service station over the fields and towards the Pig farm. When we were making our way up the lane Jenny stopped us and asked us to look right over the fields (it was some distance away) as she had spotted something white in the distance in the farmers crop fields. When we looked through the binoculars, it was definitely a dog, which looked to be white and black/brown, mooching around going back and forth. We did not see anybody with this dog so we stood and watched for a while and whilst it potentially looked a little bigger than Bonnie, we are just unsure who's dog it was and could it be Bonnie? We made our way to this spot but by the time we got there, the dog had disappeared 😞 on the way to this point we passed the farm and the worker there suggested it was a ladies dog who lives at the end of the track but did say it's always on a lead... We just had to check it out! When we went there we were told they hadn't seen Bonnie but we are now extremely concerned for Bonnie's safety if she is out there as they said that the gamekeeper shoots dogs on the land of they upset his pheasants. Whilst it's illegal to do this, we are massively fearful for Bonnie and will be contacting the police tomorrow to inform them of this. We will be going back tomorrow with Lisa's dogs as we still are unsure if the dog in the distance tonight was Bonnie.. Please let it be and let's pray if it is, she does not come to any harm.
Massive thank you to Jenny and Tiga who spent 8 hours searching, Lisa walked miles today and could barely stand by the end of the day. Just got home and we are both, once again, exhausted. We will continue to update you but please keep sharing Bonnie's page as she HAS to be found. Come on Bon Bon, we are all routing for you sweetheart xx

Ok so this is where we are at....we had two unconfirmed sightings of a small robust terrier type dog on Wednesday 4th at MILL LANE, the dog was in a thicket round the corner from the main road. On Friday the owner of Sally's Cafe (2 mins from Mill lane) said she saw a dog fitting Bonnie's description on OXFORD ROAD...she was trotting along alone.....4pm. Then tonight we had an unconfirmed sighting of a dog fitting Bonnie's description crossing Oxford Road infront of the ladies car at 11.30am Friday morning near the POND HOUSE pub....then another unconfirmed sighting came in of a dog fitting Bonnie at 5.10pm TODAY in the same location on Oxford Road near the Pond House Pub....therefore we need to home our search on this area, posters, flyers and looking.....Bonnie could have traveled into the town to look for help, food (KFC and pub close and smells of cooking) and to find her house.....on this basis anyone that can work out from Pond House down Oxford Road to search would be fantastic....let local people know she is missing....although none of these sightings are confirmed as being BONNIE,...as now had three in that area we have to take this as hopefully her (clever, brave, amazing dog if it is her) Rachael and I will head there tomorrow and commence searching and put up posters...I pray whoever the little dog people are seeing is safe and doesnt cross that road infront of cars again.....come on Bonnie....go to one of these lovely people looking for you and hand yourself in......thank you to everyone that searched tonight...humbled and so grateful....one day I pray Bonnie can thank you herself x

the foster Mum has been there continually since this happened...from what I understand when Bonnie is found she will be going back to Lisa (foster Mum) to stay.

pls do keep checking all dog centres - council kennels, dog charities etc - the Romanian dog I adopted was in MANCHESTER DOGS HOME 11 DAYS BEFORE THEY SCANNED HER.

knowing there are so many leads to follow day after day I realise the difficulty to keep tabs -

all the dog rescue shelters WILL ONLY DEAL WITH OWNER.....

my council has a gallery of found dog photos which is extremely helpful - but sadly not all councils do.

good luck - hope little bonnie is found very soon
Unknown
Karenlr.... we cant judge people if we dont know the circumstances....we are here to help if we can..is it possible for the Foster Mum to get down if not already been?
Doglover
If she went missing at a service station, do you think someone picked her up there and decided to keep her?? And not report the finding. Also are there any rabbit holes in the fields behind the service station where she could have gone down. Maybe a lorry driver picked her up and has taken her home. So wish I was nearer to help you. Xxxx

Baring in mind the difficult area she is lost in can anyone tell us what is available as regards places to poster ie travel lodges, schools, offices, council buildings and depots, and is the service station aware and if possible posteredLast edited: 2015-11-09 10:51:40 by Nina

The adopters were elderly - I'm sure they are devastated. K9 need a recent confirmed sighting.
karenlr
how awful.. even so if they were to be her new owners are they not trying to help you? have you tried to contact the k9search.org .. trackers they seem very approchable.. I really really feel your pain..... I lost a cat 10 years ago and I don't think I ate or slept for a week ..people think you are crazy but you are not...try and recharge and then re assess but do give these people a ring I,m sure they can help....
Lisa
Karen she had only been with her new owners for an hour and never made it to their home. She will be trying, if anything, to get back to her foster Mummy, who lives in Guildford, which is a long way from reading for a little dog.

Have you thought of asking the help of a dog tracker there's one called K9 trackers that uses blood hounds ..it might be worth a try....thinking of you and sending a great big hug...Hurry home Bonnie xxx

Day 7....

Sadly still no sign of darling Bonnie. Two sightings yesterday were sadly not of Bonnie and we confirmed it was neighbouring terriers. The two sightings on the opposite side of the services where she went missing (Mill Road) were also not positive sightings and we are convinced it was also one of three small dogs opposite where she was apparently seen... It was confirmed that two of these are always getting out so as you can appreciate we are extremely disheartened and upset
😥
so many highs and so many lows to finding Bonnie and bringing her home, you start to have some glimmer of hope to then, a day later feel deflated but the reality is, we may never know what happened to Bonnie
😥
Myself and Lisa are extremely tired and actually broken as we have not really slept in the last 7 days, I have driven miles daily (reckon 5 hours a day!) plus searching all day and night and it's sad to say but today we just had had enough
😥
we finally checked into travel lodge at 2am this morning after leaving the location yesterday around 7 to head home ready for an early night, ready for a productive day of searching after what we thought were confirmed sightings of dear Bonnie, to then get back on to M4 towards home to get a message about possible sighting so we headed straight back but first sighting we had nothing to go on just were told Burghfield area. We felt helpless and literally didn't know where to go or what to do so just walked and walked field after field. Finally decided to go home as we'd already had a very long day. I then dropped Lisa off home, got home myself at 10 to then get another specific sighting of what we thought was a confirmed sighting of terrier in lay by so I rushed to get Lisa (had only been in two minutes and baring in mind Lisa lives 40 min from me in the opposite direction) and we headed back (I reckon I could do that 2 hour round trip with my eyes closed!) We searched all round in the pitch scary darkness not really knowing what to do as it had been 6 plus hours since that sighting but we both had to keep going! We finally got to sleep around 3.30 and was up at 4.30 and back out looking from 5am this morning. After driving round for hours, stopping everywhere we then got it confirmed that the two sighting were in fact the neighbours dogs, to say we were empty was an understatement
😥
We then visited a gypsy/travelling site but couldn't do too much... So we walked away. Lisa is absolutely broken and cried the whole way home. Can I please ask everyone to leave her be for a bit. She does not wish anyone to contact her whilst she is so upset she appreciates, as I do, everyone's support and you have all been amazing! Lisa has given up hope and feels she will never see her again, she feels extremely guilty for finding her adopters who sadly let her down and whilst I've reassured her it's not her fault and she should remain positive but as you can imagine after 7 days of continuous searching this is extremely hard for both of us
😞
I honestly do believe we ALL need to share this page like you have never shared before and get her known across the whole of the UK as I believe she has to be out there somewhere. I think we have flooded the area with as many posters as possible and Bonnie's story seems to be known for miles already. Everyone we spoke to over the past 7 days knows it so this can only be a good thing which I'm praying will lead to her being reunited with the lovely Lisa! I also think we need to get her story into the national newspapers as we
Julie Newton
Is anyone coming out today? Rachel and Lisa are literally exhausted and don't even feel they can continue. They don't want to give up but they haven't slept in a week and are on thier knees as been searching constantly. Lisa is actually very unwell If anyone can help put posters up around the sightings please text or call 07713802349

*******UPDATE*******
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for turning out today to help search for Bonnie, particularly in such atrocious weather❤❤❤ The turnout was fantastic & it really gave us a much-needed boost to see you all! BUT sadly no sign of our darling Bonnie😪.....yet......
However, we have had a further unconfirmed sighting on the westbound services side!
SO.....we are asking again, no, pleading for anyone who is local or fairly local if they can please please help Lisa & Rachael in the search tomorrow, concentrating on this new location. Tomorrow is DAY 7 & we have just got to find her NOW. Lisa is completely broken & utterly distraught & they are both beyond exhaustion. How they have kept going is nothing short of a miracle, only existing on a couple of hours sleep a night for the last week & they intend to carry on searching tonight.
If anyone is able to help tomorrow, please let Rachael know what time you'll be arriving so she & Lisa can co-ordinate search parties, timings etc. Her number is 07713 802349.
We hate to keep asking for help, but for all of you who know Lisa & her total love & dedication to dogs in dire need, as well as the wonderful support she gives to us when we need it, we know you want to help her get Bonnie back.
Thank you once again, love Team Bonnie xxxxxxxx

Thanks Owl...I will pass this on...I'm sure these areas have been searched extensively...but doesn't mean she's not going back there though.

Just a thought, Shereen. Thinking of various dogs who have legged it at services in the past, they tend to hole up behind service areas and lorry parks which are quieter and in the case of lorry parks may have food scraps around.

Good luck today everyone.

Bumping due to 2 possible sightings....Fingers and Paws tightly crossed!

UPDATE.... Day 6
We had a possible breakthrough with two individual sightings of a small terrier sized dog from two different people both having seen the little dog on the road and then dipping into a wood, approximately two hours apart. The area of the sighting would mean that if it was Bonnie then she would have had to cross the bridge over the M4 which is possible and having walked this route today would have probably only taken her about 40 minutes to get to the south bound side to the wood. We searched for hours today without success and it leaves us so confused because we never thought Bonnie would be south bound side behind the services. We went and met the dog warden who was so lovely and has been in contact daily and we now have a trap and an infra-red camera which we will set up tomorrow night if we haven't found her by then! It was lovely to see Jane Chipp all the way from Somerset, so nice to see a fresh face when we are both on our knees and she gave Lisa the most beautiful handmade heart broach with Bonnie's name stitched on it which made Lisa burst in to tears but is now pinned against her own heart. Our wonderful Sam did a live interview with Radio Jack and what was very encouraging today that so many people we spoke to today knew of Bonnie's plight. We are so grateful to the people that are coming to join us tomorrow as we feel you will be paramount to saving Bonnie's life. We are both sorting out the maps for everyone right now and we very much looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Please feel free to call me on 07713 802349 if you need me. We are so desperate to get Bonnie home as it is wet, cold and she will be so hungry. Love Rachael xLast edited: 2015-11-07 01:44:47 by Shereen

Still no sightings, Thank you Nelson' Mum for putting up posters xxx Extended search to the fields/farms behind services in approx 3 mile radius. Put more posters up, Bonnie has not come back to the point where she was lost, food trail not touched. Trying to get a tracker dog is proving very difficult. If any one can come help with the search or leaflet distribution we need all the help we can get...I need this little person home, I am beside myself....
Nelson's Mum
I work near Jct 12 of the M4 so will put some posters up in the office and in Sainsbury's tomorrow. I lost Nelson several years ago in Exeter whilst on holiday - this page truly does work! Poster power - fingers crossed for you!

area put out tonight for Bonnie , asking people to stay away from it , has Bonnie and her owners scent on it . please check Snoopy Rescue UK on facebook for more updates
Bo
The area is vast and very rural beyond the service station area and many places for her to hide.
I'd say a tracker dog as Jenny mentioned would be a great help if the trail hasn't gone cold by now. If her foster mum used to take her out in the car it can help as these dogs tend to recognise the signature of the engine.

Is there anyone local that could help with knocking doors and handing out posters, someone local may have picked her up.
Jaycey

Sorry to see that BONNIE SIGHTED is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (94040)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
