- I have not been able to get through on the telephone Zoe so not sure how Oscar is. Maybe Timi can let us know as sounds as though she was with his owners this evening.
Many, many thanks to all who have helped with the search for Oscar .. sharing, postering and searching. Special thanks to Timi who did a lot of postering in the rain as well as searching.
Thanks especially to the lovely lady who found Oscar lying in her driveway this afternoon and rushed him to the vets to be cared for. Thankfully Oscar had a microchip so he was reunited quickly with his worried owners.
I'm so pleased that Oscar is home before the fireworks tonight and over the weekend. I'm sure his owners must be very relieved and I look forward to seeing the reunited photo Timi :)
Welcome home Oscar. Last edited: 2015-11-05 21:23:33 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2015-11-05 21:16 Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex

- Just had a lovely message to say that Oscar has been found. The kind lady who found him has taken him to Heathfield vets and hopefully he will be ok after being out on his own for 5 days. So happy to hear he is safe and will not be outside on bonfire night.
I will be waiting for confirmation from Oscar's owner before I move this page into the blue. - 2015-11-05 01:28 *

At least we have an idea of area now.....will have a look at the map and see where Newick Farm is and concentrate on that area unless I hear otherwise.

- Update i spoke to the owner and as the dog went missing from fields on the north side of the B2096 in Punnett's Town she felt he had made his way over towards Broad Oak/Burwash. I postered across in Broad Oak up towards Mayfield. I met some walkers in Pottens Mill Lane Broad Oak, Where little Jimmy was found! and the guy said he had seen a black dog in fields between Newick Farm and Street End, which could be a real possibility. So i postered Street End Lane, Picadilly Lane and Newick Lane in Broad Oak covering a wide area. This was not a positive sighting all he could say was that it was a fairly big black dog Labrador size. Lets hope we get a positive sighting real soon. Zoe i postered as far as Warbleton i ran out of posters .. so as yet have not covered the areas you suggested. Yes Kjane85 it always seems to be raining when i poster lol ... Oscars owner also went off to look around Newick Farm. If there is a positive sighting feel free to ring me on 07482373727 ( Gina) and if i can i will come along with my dog Timi who is extremely friendly with other dogs. - I saw a poster up in Horam last night when I was walking a friends dog. I'm sorry I can't be much help during the week as its dark by the time I get home from work now:-( If he headed off in the Rushlake Green direction then he is kind of heading back towards home - I can't believe there hasn't been one sighting of him:-( Do we know if Oscar had an ID tag on his collar? If he has, there is no excuse, if he's been picked up, for the finder not to phone the owner. I really think posters should go up between Punnets Town and Hailsham (via Warbleton, Cowbeech, Rushlake Green, Horsebridge, Hellingly, Herstmonceux. Also dustmen, postmen, local taxis etc - all the usual.

- Oscar's owner: Thank you for your email. I have added the mobile tel numbers for you.
I spoke to owners daughter today who thinks Oscar was scared when being walked in fields in Punnetts Town. I've asked her to talk to her mum (who was at work) to pinpoint area a bit better for us and put on this Doglost page. Would help to know which road or lane the fields are near please.
Oscar lives in Hailsham so he is not near to home and does not know the area.
Says her mum has done posters. Sounds like he may still be out in the fields or woods tho. I'm not familiar with this area as I'm in Hastings so we will need local helpers if poss please.
I have advised to have a good read of the email advice re scenting, leaving bedding etc so that Oscar has something to settle down near when he comes back to where he was lost.
However, poster, poster and poster some more .. there can never be enough of them and they are the way to get sightings come in. If anyone says they have seen him, please remember to ask exactly where, when (which day and time etc) and which direction he was going in.
Best of luck.

- Hi, we shared Oscars poster yesterday on our Facebook page (2,000 followers) for our South East based dog rescue https://www.facebook.com/giveadogahomeuk and have alerted our 2 fosterers who live locally in Heathfield. Good Luck finding Oscar.

- I have shared Oscars poster on facebook to my local friends. Whereabouts in Punnets Town did he go missing from. Was it on a walk? If so, which way did he head off? I know there were a lot of fireworks locally over the weekend:-( Please try to get some posters up locally as someone may have seen him and not thought anything of it. I believe there was an accident in Punnets Town on Saturday, could this have involved Oscar?

- Sorry to hear that Oscar has gone missing.
I have sent our Doglost email advice to help you with your search.
Please would you let us know how and whereabouts Oscar went missing from?
Would you let us know if you have a mobile telephone number we can add to Oscar's page please?
If you are out searching it would help so that any helpers can get in touch with you when there is news of him.
Thanks.
