watery eyes here too :) there are certainly forces greater than all of us and how wonderful not only for the family but also for the people who found him that their Billy helped a lost soul remain here with his loved ones xx

Wow, how wonderful! So glad Sam is home especially after the worry of the river. Well done Max. And Billy, thank you - our special dogs are always with us. Eyes gone leaky!

What a lovely story. So pleased Sam is home safe, and well I definitely believe that Billy was by his side. I read once that a young man was dropped off by his friend in the country so he could visit his mothers new house. He decided to walk the rest of the way (Dirt track) he got lost, and started to panic, then he saw a Huskey dog come from behind the trees, so he decided to
follow the dog, and was soon outside his mothers house, when he went to thank the dog, and stroke him the dog had vanished. His mother who knew all the dogs in the area by now said there was no Huskies around that area, only collies etc (Farms) And this was in the early morning. The dog has never been traced, So who knows? But I am a believer

Max may be too modest to share what Sam's owner had to say, but here it is:

I need to say a massive thank you to Max at http://www.doglost.co.uk/ too, she kept in touch with me til very late in to the night and text me first thing, created his ad and spread the word and phoned me to offer some great advice. These people are volunteers and must hear such sad stories every day, please share their page too. And when we get our centre we will be holding a charity dog show just for them! Thank you Max and the team!Last edited: 2015-11-05 21:32:15

How wonderful to think Sam was guided by Billy to safety....that's why I always say they never leave you and stay by your side because they do. That must have been so touching and reassuring for Linda and Glyn....their Billy is never far from them xx
Welcome home Sam...so glad you are safe....stay forever close xx

Have had permission to post this from Lorraines fb page.

We've found him folks!! Safe and sound, taken in by a lovely couple who own a B&B in Gwithian in the middle of no-where. He was found sitting where their old dog is buried and believe that he was led there by the spirit of their old dog as they are the spitting image of each other in looks, temperament and personality. When the chap came home, Sam just tucked in beside him like their Billy used to and when he looked down he thought he'd seen a ghost! So thank you Billy for guiding Sam to your lovely owners Linda and Glyn from http://www.nanterrowfarm.co.uk/ You saved his life I'm sure! Thank you so so so much for everything that everyone did to find him too! I met people on the beach today who came out specifically to look for him and apart from one of the six I didn't even know them! So eternally gratefully to have him home and safe and cared for Thank you all!!

There was also a lovely personal message to me & the team in Cornwall which was very touching :)
karenlr

Just had a call from Max to say that Lorraine has 'phoned her to say Sam is safe and well. He was picked up by someone last night who informed the Dog Warden, and Lorraine is on her way to collect him.

Have sent doglost poster link to the National Trust cafe there & hopefully they will display a poster.

It seems all the dogs went for a run along the river, but part of the path had gone & Sam may have fallen in as he had disappeared. It had gone dark at this stage.
Lorraine will go back in the morning when it will be low tide, to check the beach & the area.

Have had contact with owner.
Advice emailed & given number of DW.
Seems he may have fallen in the river, as he disappeared so quickly. It is not like him to run off & he is quite loyal. A thorough search has been made of area with no luck.
Hoping he did wander off & someone has picked him up.
