- jamestay1. I agree with every word you say; it`s common sense to cover pools up when not in use. One day it will be a child. - if people do have ponds they should be made to have steps in them so any child or animal can get out ! If I bought a house with a pond it would be destroyed!! Poor Oscar and his family X

- Oh no, how tragic, another lost to water. My daughter's westie Barney fell into our pond once, and luckily she managed to yank him out in time. I am so sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this sad time. Run free at the bridge, lovely little Oscar, where Barney will be waiting to play xxxx

Admin needs to go into Rainbow Bridge. - 2015-12-31 16:32 Ellen Osborn
- Oscar was found today in our neighbours pond, he must of drowned that evening and the neighbours only just found him. He has been buried and we are relieved he is found. Thank you all so much for your support.

- Thank you guys,I'll speak to my parents about the paper idea and see what they think. Trying to stay positive :(

- Never ever give up Ellen. Oscar is out there somewhere and lots of dogs in this site have been found even months after they have gone missing. So keep praying and sending out positive thoughts, as we all are for Oscar. Xxx

- Yes I would definitely try for an article in the local papers Ellen, this would reach out to people who are not on the internet.

- Ellen, we can never guarantee but.... we do see some amazing stories on this site. There really is always hope, always. Hang in there and keep those posters going up. Abe babe good to see you posting here, thank you. I am wondering wthere the local papers would run a story because Oscar is deaf. They don't usually do missing dogs stories unless there is another angle. If not already done so, definitely worth a try. See what Helen (co-ord) thinks. x

- Life is very strange without our Oscar and we feel like we will never see him again :( there is no sign at all of finding him.

- It says the found dog is entire and Oscar is neutered....

- Ellen, I believe that K9 tracker can only find scent that's up to 14 days old so time is really of the essence. .. I really do hope you do call them in. Still constantly thinking of dear Oscar and his family x.

- I drove that way this afternoon through from Clare to Belchamp St Paul - up Bradley Hill route - sadly nothing to report

- It's about 7 miles between Clare and Long Melford, I regularly walk the Long Melford area and will be keeping a look out for poor Oscar.
- 2015-11-20 15:44 Doglover
- If I remember rightly, there is a big field/wood /park at end of Long Melford where lots of people walk their dogs. Has anyone looked there for Oscar or is it too far from where he lives.? I have only visited Long Melford, but do not live there. Xx

- Well it seems we have all been searching the same area - I went with my friend and both our dogs this afternoon and we searched the area btwn the house and the river very thoroughly, looking in all the old sheds, in the undergrowth, all round the garden of the empty house and its many derelict outbuildings, and my friend looked under all the sheds with a torch. My own dog is very dog-oriented and would have found any canine in the area, dead or alive.
The couple (Ellen's mum and dad) told us the ditch opposite the house had been searched. I think it might be worth making a big search over the road heading East, as if someone let him through the gate at the bottom of his garden onto the footpath, he could have wandered up the next door garden trying to get back home, and then would have gone up the path beside that empty house's garage onto the road...
Anyway I left some fliers in Cavendish (village shop and Sue Ryder shop) but I can't see what else we can do really other than make sure every vet in the area has a copy of the poster. My friend (who lives in Long Melford) took quite a few, and I know she is in regular touch with the owners and is giving them support.
Maybe all the posters will bring some news. Let's hope so but the weather has been horrible and I'm afraid if Oscar could seek help, he would have done so by now :(

- Thinking of you all Ellen, I am only at Belchamp St Paul not far from you, but sadly committed to work during daylight. I offered my daughter in law posters today and she said there are loads about so didn't know where else to put them - this is good, she has seen them and remembered - others will too ! CorbiereW did pick them up from me - she travelled with her dog to walk your area. I have added post on the fb Clare selling site which should reach a few more locals, I too do not feel he will have gone far. I would try and locate a K9 tracker if I were in your position right now but these do tend to be quite booked up - ask on the Doglost Norfolk and Suffolk facebook page for help to make contact if you feel this is the way to go, I am sure Jenny would help if she is able. Hope tomorrow will bring some news xx

- Thank you everyone for your support to find Oscar! My mum Joanna is poorly at the minute and cannot look but my dad Clive is busy looking, I'm at college everyday so look when I get home when it's dark. He is very old and we are all thinking he is either dead or stolen and just want to know. I miss him loads and will love him forever xx
- 2015-11-19 19:13 sindy
- I parked in clare country park lunchtime today and walked through the park and along the footpath behind the houses in ashen road and checked along the river where I could, if he was nearby I think my dogs would have gone to him. have also alerted friends who live in ashen as they may see him if they drive to clare. lets hope he is ok and will turn up soon...will look again tomorrow ,has anyone spoken to anyone at mill farm as they have a few barns which he may have wandered into and been shut in..

- Thank you so much everybody who is helping search and poster for Oscar, hopefully there will be some news soon x
- 2015-11-19 16:14 Abe babe
- Did an extensive search today with Oscar's dad (which family have done several times already) but sadly nothing. It is highly unlikely he would have wandered far anyway but you still need to look. The river nearby is big but again, unlikely to have gone that far. There is a footpath/right of way thorugh property so it's possible someone took him? Family very proactive putting up posters and calling on neighbours... and very grateful for all support. Hoping someone local saw something that afternoon, appeals on Clare Fb page.
Thinking of you little Oscar x - 2015-11-19 09:00 Jinny
- I have 100 posters printed - will take to work at Acton now - I think CorbiereW will pick up later unless anyone else is nearer and can take sooner ?
- 2015-11-19 08:54 Abe babe
- I have spoken with Oscar's dad and am meeting him shortly for a search.
- 2015-11-19 06:51 Abe babe
- CorbiereW - I am reluctant to disturb owner if she is poorly but I need to know where to start search from, is Ellen the owner? or someone helping - if it's someone helping then I will ring,no probs. And/or I could meet your friend at Oscar's house this morning if you could put me in touch please.
- 2015-11-19 00:15 CorbiereW
- A friend of mine spoke to the owner this evening - she (owner) was in hospital having an op and cannot walk so can't search or do anything! My freind is going to search tomorrow morning starting I think from the house.
Oscar vanished from the garden and there is a public footpath from it. So he may have got disoriented or may have been spirited away.... Owner says he used to wander a bit via the footpath but hasn't since he got older.
Given she incapacitated it would be great if locals would rally round and search the area for her. She must be distraught, stuck in bed...
Jinny sorry forgot who you are irl hahaha, posting in the small hours last night. Printing off some posters would be great, if I could pick some of them up at noon when I hope to go to Long M to collect something from the lady who is going to search tomorrow. (hope you can follow that). Then maybe you could btwn you poster around Clare? - 2015-11-18 18:40 Jinny
- Yes I have seen CorbiereW - this is our side of Clare, the road is not very busy but very rural - with the river close, not sure how the footpaths run. the darkness is against us for being any help searching with being at work all day but will print some posters tonight and hopefully get some handed out at the school tomorrow, but hopefully won't still be needed then. Will check local selling pages tonight.
- 2015-11-18 17:44 CorbiereW
- Jinny I understand it's the Belchamp St Paul side of Clare. It would be helpful to have some input regarding where has been searched etc - and any sightings. I have locals on my FB page offering to help search
- 2015-11-18 15:27 Abe babe
- Hopefully I will be able to go out and look tomorrow if I could have more details please..I will phone Ellen in morning if I am able. But dearly hope he's home before.. Have any posters gone up yet?
