Hi all. One final footnote to this story. Maybe was checked by the vets yesterday and found to be fine despite her ordeal. However, her microchip - inserted in 2009 - did not respond to scanning. This is something gthat we may have relied upon had she not also been wearing an ID tag. Obviously we will have her rechipped. I do not know how long these devices last, but a cautionary tale for those who (like us) thought that this technology would return Maybe to us. I would therefore urge people to have these checked regularly - especially if they have been in place for a while. Thank you once again for everyone's help. We can now look forward to and enjoy Christmas once again!Last edited: 2015-12-03 04:33:47 by ffinybryn

Maybe has been found well (but very hungry!). My wife and I were preparing for a night at the Scout Lodge (Thermos and Sandwiches), but during an initial search, we found Maybe at 22:45 not far from where we had been calling for her on Monday. Thank you so much for everyone's help and concern. We are so glad to have found her! Donations will be made to DogLost and the Beagle Welfare (at the Boxing Day Beagle walk at Cranwich Heath). A BIG THANK YOU for all of your support and suggestions. Although we had been there many times over the last couple of days, hearing that they always return/stay to where they think you will be has helped to find her safe. (and thank you for your kind offer Cherry) and thank you to all of those who even went out to look for her! Please pass on the good news.Last edited: 2015-12-02 09:19:52 by ffinybryn

Thanks for the tip Skywalker99. We thought about leaving food - but you never know if its been eaten by badgers/deer etc. She knows area vaguely (enough to get back to car apparently) - but not how to get back to Thetford. (Unless she is cleverer than we imagine).

leave her bedding/some of your dirty clothing where she was seen. Try contacting http://www.lostdogtracker.com/ Dogs will always go back if they can, does she know area?Last edited: 2015-12-01 14:55:46 by Skywalker99

Maybe was seen Monday 30th November at Thetford Scout Camp (amazingly near where car was parked). However, the observer did not know she was lost. This was around the same time that a "light-coloured spaniel" was seen crossing the road... However, further visits have been unsuccessful. But we will continue to search for this feisty little girl. Thank you for all of your help and concern. XXLast edited: 2015-12-01 15:02:06 by ffinybryn

Sianie - Going by the thread on the Norfolk & Suffolk Doglost facebook page - I don't think they have found her yet... a runner was out tonight exercising in the forest and met the owners who were still out looking for her :-(

"Light coloured spaniel roaming loose, crossed a134 at rugby club, Thetford. Heading south into forest" ... Thinking this might have been your beagle x Hoping someone in the area can get down there ASAP to check before she gets deeper into the forest. Stay safe little one x
