Thank you so much for still thinking of Nala. As Karen said sadly not her....we did get out hopes up for a while there though :(
DogLostKaren - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
I've checked chip details for this little one with RSPCA, and so have Nala's parent's - sadly not her - so sorry
The chip isn't registered in UK for the found dog, but we have run through DL database, not here either, or on fraudulent database or any European database
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Thanks all!
DogLostKaren - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
Thank you - I've left a message for RSPCA so that we can check microchip details in case it is this little girl
DogLostSharon - Social Media Volunteer
I've messaged Karen Harding to bring her attention to the RSPCA post.

Hi there, this may be a long shot but I found a dog matching Nala's description today. I have a short video I could send to see if you recognise her?
Sarah
Thank you. It wasn’t Nala unfortunately. There was a chip, this little lady was a year older than Nala ๐Ÿ˜”
csquaredb
Yes it was Sarah. Hadn't been checked for a chip when I last looked for updates last night. Everything crossed x
Sarah
Thank you for the lead csquaredb. It won’t allow me to follow the link. Was this the lab taken to Mayflower Sanctuary?

I know it's nearly 3 years, but on their Facebook page Surrey Police are trying to trace the owners of property they have recovered. Some of it looks like things that were taken with Nala. https://www.facebook.com/SurreyPolice/photos/pcb.1944740532278871/1944740082278916/?type=3&theater

We will keep searching for you Nala x

We do regularly check in on the chip Company but I won’t leave anything to chance. I’ll always double check.

Ok, that's a shame. The main RSPCA site shows "Ivy" as a crossbreed but the Stubbington Ark site just says Labrador so I thought it was worth a try and I am sure you would rather hear of possibilities than not. I hope you get lucky soon.
Sarah
Hi Nimsum. Thank you very much for the tip. Unfortunately this one is a lab cross and not Nala :(

We continue to search and follow up on all leads. There have been a few labs and spaniels found recently so still hold hope that she will come home someday.

Thank you for continuing to think of us.
Nimsmum
Hi, I am new to all this but in looking for a rescue dog I came across https://www.rspca.org.uk/findapet/details/-/Animal/IVY_/ref/BSA2078585/rehome
It's the RSPCA at Stubbington Ark
She is about the right age, found in Portsmouth area as a "stray", picture not good so difficult to see if a grey tuft on chin. Microchip not mentioned but they will have checked for one I suppose. Is there any chance that as she was so young when taken that it could have been removed (it would be easy to find and surgically removed on a very young dog I suspect). When I see a dog in rescue that interests me I always check on Doglost just in case it is one reported missing. Hope you get lucky one day
mistynsashasmum
Hi Sarah you know I will never give up keeping an eye out for Nala
Keep your chin up many long term missing dogs now being reunited
Fingers crossed it will be Nalas turn one day

These thieves simply cannot comprehend (or just don't care) how much these dog thefts affect the families emotionally, especially the children. So if anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Nala please phone one of the numbers above and make these children happy again. SUBSTANTIAL REWARD OFFERED and NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Will there be a Thunderclap? Would be good timing....

We are approaching a year now, although quieter we are still looking for you Nala. I still get my daily alerts, looking at both Labrador puppies and adults now. Although for your sake they haven't bred from you, if they have and made money from your pups they may let you come home now.

Alfie asks for you pretty much every day, Sophie is quieter but she writes. I don't think it would be wise to post her last piece but it only goes to show how much these heartless beings have hurt her.

We are approaching the anniversary of your theft but also Sophie's birthday, you are still top of her list and we will still keep looking xx

Owner looking into this ;)
Baydogs
Thanks nickyjm. Am erring on the side of caution myself as Nala will be between seasons now (if my calculations are right) and someone may be considering spaying (as post comments further down) and afraid chip will be picked up. Also circumstances - being tied up and left. This is a very pretty lab! Going to do it.
DogLostNicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
I would alert owner Baydogs. If mine was missing I would want to know about all possible matches X
Baydogs
Debating whether or not to text owner. What do you think guys? Don't want someone else bagging her before she gets to the vets, but equally does she look a bit too mature in body for a dog of Nala's age now? Labrador owners ???
Baydogs
75 miles away, tied up and left in Leicestershire. This girl is pretty enough. Has the same "look" but no distinctive tuft of grey on her chin, just a few grey hairs. Says will be taken to a vet if no-one claims her. If that happens, the scan will hopefully reveal all.

Nala will stay on here until reunited. Yes i do hope new microchipping law will make more aware and hope anyone in contact with dogs will scan as that is the best way of reuniting so many stolen dogs!.
Sarah
We are still very much still actively hunting for Nala, I've just had problems with the website so been quiet on here! There are lots of new weatherproof pictures of Nala around the local area so if they are still local they will see her face around quite a bit.

It seems the micro-chip law is scaring a few people and lots more dogs are being found so we are still very hopeful we will find Nala ... hopefully sooner rather than later.

Sarah just seen your new post on Facebook as I said I will contact our local TV Station again as I know you are going to also see if they will run Nalas story you are working so tirelessly to find Nala you so deserve a happy outcome.

I like you will not give up on finding Nala she is out there somewhere and some-one knows something.

There have been a lot of stolen dogs returned via media coverage we have to pray Nala may be next as she really needs to be with her young owner who is desperately missing her.

Come on Nala it must be your turn to go home darling xxxx
Unknown
Come on Nala some stolen puppies being returned by kind people who have bought them unknown to them they were stolen it surely has to be your turn soon?

Still not too late to do right thing here please return Nala all you have to do is take her to a vet or rescue to have her scanned and she would then go back to her little owner who is devastated at her loss come on whoever you are have a heart and do the right thing please.
Shanti Lass
Hopefully if someone has brought her innocently they will try and get her micro chipped and it will be flagged up. I know a lot of pet owners who are clients of the vet I work at want it done when they neuter so lets hope the person who has her wants her spayed!
Unknown
Skywalker99 could not have put it better myself and this little girl is supposed to be able to trust adults and yet her puppy is still missing
I too have been asking the person who has Nala to do the right thing and call D/Lost to reunite them back together and restore a little girls faith in humans and it is still not too late to do this.
Skywalker99
A little girl is going to grow up wondering if the puppy she fell in love with is ok, and the rest of her life wondering what happened to her dog. If you know anything about where Nala is or think you may have bought her in good faith please do the right thing and call doglost, or her owners or hand her into a vet

Sarah
Thanks Mistynsashamum.

The attention we have created is not by quick wins, we have spent hours postering, making calls handing out leaflets and will continue. We are now approaching the 1.1million mark but this is literally only Nala's FB page, it doesn't take into account word of mouth and she is spreading like wildfire. Most posts have gone in under my personal account which aren't included here either and I have posted on every single animal site I can find, I am following up but it is a struggle to keep up with it all as there are so many! People are not just sharing these posts they are reading them, commenting and following up by looking at Nala's page.

People are watching up and down the country, the calls are coming in. I know she is a black lab and there are many out there but people that own this breed have to lead a certain lifestyle to accommodate them. Labradors are most definitely not a lap dog, they are a retriever not a hunter so no good in certain demographics ... unless they have come across one by chance! Nala will stand out if with the wrong 'type' of owner and this will be noticed, reported and you will be found.
Unknown
And also apart from everything else Sarah just look at the amount of times people have clicked on Nalas page here and the amount of shares as well

Keep going she has to sighted very soon now and still the best option must be for whoever has Nala to give her up now while they still can

Please would you do the right thing it is not too late by taking Nala to a vet or rescue and please let her be reunited with her rightful owner who is devastated at her loss

We will not give up on Nala ever Last edited: 2016-01-12 13:35:09
Sarah
Nala has become a poster girl for the Vets get Scanning campaign today!!! With the 43,000 signatures still outstanding my following which is only a few short of 1 million now should hopefully get a few more ticked off.

THIEVES: If you are resding this; 1 MILLION is correct, that is from Nala's page alone and a couple of hours work ;)
Sarah
Someone has to spot her soon with all the coverage gained over the weekend. On Thursday I thought it was going to be a case of sitting tight but I launched a new campaign and have covered the country just in case. My phone has been ringing A LOT today as have the private messages on Facebook so I know the 630,000 plus people that my posts have reached are paying attention to what they are reading rather than just sharing a photo.

I've had calls come in based on adverts on other selling sites too. People are calling questioning their own purchases which is great as it means people aren't afraid to come forward. I know the gundog community is well covered too. Nala will stand out if with the wrong handler.

They really are running out of options and am hoping they are reading this site or Facebook, they need to realise that handing Nala over is going to be far better option than being found by the police ... or worse the public because people are not afraid to name and shame and this is something I cannot control.

Call me or DogLost or take her to the vets/rescue centre. This is only going to get worse as my audience is growing by the second.
Unknown
Someone must spot Nala soon with so many eyes looking out for her still surely the best option now has to be to let Nala go home.

Skywalker99
Can someone get Brighton Dogwatch Facebook page to share Nala's details? At the moment they seem have just 'liked' a cross posting made before Xmas. Liking is not the same as sharing....it may not pop up on followers feeds if just 'liked'.
Sarah
Make that just short of 400k in less thank 36 hours and still going!!!
Sarah
Well that's Facebook gone crazy! I have been joining, liking all the buying and selling sites I can find and put posts on. 130k shares in a day and it keeps going. Also, loads of sightings from scumtree etc coming in too so our following is still growing.

Come on Nala, we need to give all thiese people some good news xx
Unknown
Nala as everyone has stated before really now needs to be more than ever at home where she belongs

Who ever has her really has to do the right thing and take her to a vets or rescue to be scanned, even if you bought her in good faith not knowing at the time she had been stolen as her follow up injections really need to done ASAP

So please for Nalas sake and your own please please do the right thing let her go home you must see it makes sense

Pray Nala is still well and home soon xxxx

Thank you! The buying and selling sites are all being updated this week, Scumtree, preloved etc but also the hundreds of pet buying and selling sites on Facebook which cover the country. If they aren't following themselves their friends will be!

The focus is on the large reward that is being offered for Nala's safe return, especially given we desperately need to get her to the vets as she is not up to date with her vaccinations. She was taken before we could complete these.

We are still branching out on our focus areas as appreciate that a lot of coverage has been given to the Hampshire side of Chichester. We are now branching out to the Worthing, Lancing and Brighton areas as they are along the A27 route and easy to get to. We have also received some interesting information from this area which we are following up on, alongside the Hampshire leads that are already in progress.

Again, thank you everyone for your help.Last edited: 2016-01-08 11:09:11 by Sarah

Is there anyone viewing this page who has contact with TV or newspaper media who could feature Nala in an effort to get Nala home to little Sophie There has to be something else we can all do.

This is so sad that a young child has had to endure the pain of having her best friend stolen

How are her parents ever to get her trust back in adults after this terrible thing has happened?

I know she is truly devastated that magic of Christmas never brought her best friend home but please whoever has Nala no matter how you came by her please please do the right thing let her go home as said before take her to a vet make out you found her anything just let her go home and let a little girls faith in adults be restored.

Come on Narla your little friend needs you desperately back home.

This is so upsetting someone out there must have a little tinge in their heart to right thing

Sarah found a message written by her young daughter who is missing HER PUPPY.
Took a while to find something to make into a multi picture but this NEW photo-- if you print posters will share the message and just maybe some lowdown thief has a heart?
You will need to refresh page to see this if old photo is still showing

We will keep looking and never give up so whoever has Nala it would have been better to have done the right thing still not too late I know but Nala cannot be hidden forever and the main thing is Nala is chipped.

Keep strong you know where I am is there is anything I can do I will keep in touch as to what I do

Happy New Year to you all as well all although be it sad at the moment

Stay safe Nala we will find you xxxx

Thank you so much to everyone at DogLost for your help a support. I wish you all a very happy new year.

Sorry for pinpointing you directly but following our recent local campaign we have a number of tips coming in on some properties. I don't want to upset the durleigh marsh people twice by targeting them so wondered whether you would be able to drop me a note offline as to where they live (village/ town may be sufficient), also yourself if you regularly look after the pup. I don't want to annoy these guys further or waste our time watching a puppy that can easily be eliminated.

My telephone number is on the poster if you would like to text or email: Findingnalahelp@gmail.com.
Many thanks
Sarah

Still time to leave Nala somewhere safe with a vet, dog rescue or dog warden even so she can go home where she belongs

Please find it in your heart to do the right thing for Nala and her little owner.

However Nala has come into your possesion if you have bought her unknown as to her being stolen whatever we are appealing to your better nature do the right thing please.

Sarah
I'm still going!!! We have put more posters out around our local area/ Petersfield, Hampshire route today as there is a lot of activity around this area at the moment. Most already knew but just to make sure Nala is the new poster girl in the area!!!

There is still a steady flow of calls coming in of possible sightings which is great, they are from all over the country so there is nowhere to hide.

I thought Nala's popularity may have dropped over the festive period but it appears her following is still growing at a rapid rate which is amazing given there are other high profile cases too. "They" could have made their lives so much easier by giving Nala back for Christmas, now they make their lives more difficult and the consequences much harder each day Nala is not home.

Just imagine if a member of the public spots you, photographs you on their smart phone....you are an instant target to hundreds of thousands of people. The courts may not be able to punish you but the public can identify you, making life very difficult. Getting milk would be a challenge (unless you steal that from the doorstep too!)

Thank you all so very much for your help. I appreciate you get so many requests from people in such horrible circumstances. My husband and I are truly grateful for all your help and for keeping Nala such high priority.

We didn't bring the little lady into our home on a whim and she is well and truly one of the family. She is sorely missed, especially the chaos we knew she would have created yesterday. We remain determined to get her home.

We hope you had a lovely Christmas and wish you all a very happy new year xx

I have shared with doglost FB & Twitter & a few more of the doggie groups on FB. Re-sharing her post as she is one of our '12 dogs of Christmas' campaign.
I truly hope that there is some good news very soon for Nala & her family & she will be safely back at home soon. x

Could not have put it better myself Sarah extremely well said,

We will keep doing what has to done for as long as it takes as whoever has Nala has had plenty of opportunity to let her go home, they could take her to a vets a dog rescue dog warden and make out they found her or even telephone one of the numbers above to let her go home.

We have appealed to his/her or thier better nature to no avail but we will never give up on Nala they can be assured of that.

Unknown
Very well put Sarah. Hope Nala will be retuned to you by this uncaring selfish, scum. That`s probably only their good points Keep making her "TOO HOT TO HANDLE"
Sarah
COWARDS - we don't care how you came across Nala, whether you are the one who stole her, you bought her not knowing she was stolen, or you just found her. You cannot be a decent person by hiding a child's precious friend and questioning their faith in the Christmas spirit.

We are done with being nice about this now, we've tried the appeals to your good nature but you obviously don't have an ounce of goodness in you.

Don't think we are sitting here all teary eyed relying on the police investigation and the support of DogLost. What you see on here, Facebook and the press is what we want you to see. There is a hell of a lot of work going on in the background and you have no idea of what information we hold, what we actually saw and who is watching you. We were giving you the opportunity to do the right thing.

You see you were stupid enough in the first place to take Nala, not knowing her family, secondly you left my little girl in tears on her birthday and thirdly you didn't have the decency to redeem yourselves for Christmas, only adding to my daughters despair. You continue to be stupid in hiding Nala and you will be stupid enough to slip up in again .... If you haven't already done so ;)

This is not an appeal to return Nala, we are now telling you to take her to a place where she will be safe and easily found. We have all the time and resources we need to hunt scum like you down and your only option now is to give her up before you are found.
Sarah
Thank you so much Doglover and Nik. Your help is much appreciated xx

Please there is still time to make a little girl very happy and return Nala.

Dig deep into your heart whoever has her even if you have bought without the knowledge that she was stolen, she is already such a much loved puppy and is missed so very very much and this is the time you can make a magical Christmas for at least one family.

I would like to add I am going into Petworth today around 9am and if you are reading this whoever might have Nala I would love nothing more than to go into Petworth main car park and see Nala sitting in her crate waiting to be picked up and returned home Come on if you are reading this and you have her please do the right thing.

Come on you can do it please let Nala go home.Last edited: 2015-12-25 08:17:07

Whoever has little Nala please find it in your heart to return her now to make Christmas wishes come true for Sophie and her family.....
Sarah
Sophie is still desperately holding on to her Christmas wish and that the magic of Christmas will bring Nala home today, or that Father Christmas may find her while travelling tonight.

It doesn't matter who has Nala, however you came across her it's not important to me anymore but please, please help me get her home. Today Nala is Cinderella, if we have her home by midnight this will be the most magical Christmas ever for my children and many to come. Nala's return will only strengthen their belief if the Christmas spirit.

As always, please contact the team at DogLost or myself in confidence. Or take her to your local vet. She may still be with her crate so can be dropped safely.Last edited: 2015-12-24 09:58:07 by Sarah

Beginning to think this may not ah e been an opportunistic theft as she was taken from a place no one would go unless they had reason to. To the thieves, you haven't just stolen a dog, you stole the happiness from a little girls birthday and the magic from her Christmas, you have robbed her of the joy of watching her puppy grow up. No 8 year old should be trawling internet selling sites looking for her puppy. As people you (the thieves) are despicable and represent the underbelly of of society, please try and redeem yourselves by giving Nala back....you will get a reward which, given you are so despicable, I am surprised you haven't been tempted by.

Nala Nala where are you?
And whoever took you knows the right thing to do
Leave her at a vet a rescue or any safe place
And put a great big smile back on a little girls face
Sarah
Thank you everyone for your help. We still have a couple of days left until Christmas and I know the intensity of the hunt is ramping even more. So many people want to put an extra big smile on my little girl's face on Christmas day!!

As Nala's disappearance is so well known the people hiding her may well only be taking her out after dark ... or she may be whining or barking because she is bored. If this is a recent occurrence in your neighbourhood, please call. All will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.

I didn't realise how easy it was to get hold of a Halo Angel scanner and they don't cost the earth. A number of places sell them and Amazon do next day delivery. I will certainly be using mine. If you are genuine you won't mind me scanning your dog as I wouldn't if it were someone desperately seeking the return of their puppy. Refusal will only ring alarm bells ;)

If you are hiding her, or know who is there is still time to turn this horrid situation around. Take Nala to a vets, rescue centre or call the dog warden ... say you found her. If you have been following the case of Maximus you can see this is possible. Return Nala now and this whole situation will be lost and forgotten during the Christmas festivities... you still have time to do the right thing, please.
Rose
Someone knows where this puppy is. A neighbour may have got one recently. I know I wouldnt have bought a puppy from someone I didnt know. Wouldnt you have taken to vets for checking its health, if you did the chip would show up as stolen. Come on everybody lets get this beautiful puppy back home please x

Comment from Nala's breeder on her FB page 'I feel I must tell people. I bred this puppy. This family had been on my waiting list for some time. Before their puppy was born they came to meet us and the mother. When the litter was born they came and Sophie the little girl sat quietly holding her puppy and falling in love with her at three weeks old. They have done everything possible to get organised to welcome a new puppy into their home. They met me at the vets when Nala had her checks and ID chip. The day came for them to pick up there new family member. I can still remember Sophie's face as I opened the door to them. She had brought her a toy and a blanket. I could sob out loud to think of how that little darling must be feeling right now. I know that there are people out there that know where Nala is. Every one has done things in their life that afterwards has wished they had not done. I believe that whoever took this puppy can still make a difference to this situation! We are a few days from Christmas and I beg you to find it in your heart to take this puppy into a vets and say you found it running loose. Please do this and may you then be blessed. Thank you.'

MESSAGE TO THOSE THAT TWITTER When Nala first went missing there was talk of the possibility that travellers might have been involved. I was wondering if in fact this was a fact whether anyone who does twitter would volunteer as a suggestion twitter Tyson Fury the Traveller Boxing Champion to see if he can bring any influence to the situation. I don't do twitter or I would have done it myself. Last edited: 2015-12-20 22:56:54 by Nina
Sarah
continued ....

Sophie is the little girl who spends her holidays raising money, mainly for the RSPCA, the little girl who cannot stand by and watch anyone else cry or suffer. The little girl who is usually the one hunting for other people’s lost animals and making posters to help. Ask her teachers, her friends, anyone who knows her, we are forever receiving compliments on what a lovely girl she is …. I never, ever thought anyone could be so cruel to her.

I know whoever has Nala / knows who has Nala is reading at least one of the sites on which I post. I ask you please, let her come home. What possible reason can you give yourself to justify not returning her? It can be confidential and there is money at the end, if you still want / need it. No-one will ask, nor can I ask any questions.

If you are a parent yourself, imagine how your children would feel, or how you would feel as a parent when you cannot take away their pain.

Please call DogLost who are used to dealing with such situations or leave her at a vet, rescue centre, local kennels, even call the Dog Warden to say you found her. There are many options out there for you to do the right thing now and walk away with no consequences.
Sarah
Below is my post on Facebook this evening. Its a bit long so takes up two posts here!!

We know there are chancers out there who still make a living as you do. We can handle the monetary loss; we will work harder to replace it. We could also go and buy another puppy, or accept one offered by the kind hearted people out there but it is not about the money.

Even we had no idea how much it would hurt to lose Nala and the only way it can heal is for her to come home. She may have only been in our care for a few weeks but she was a long time coming.

Sophie has never asked for anything but a dog of her own. Ever since she could speak she has bugged us to have one. No matter how many times we told her we wouldn’t be buying a dog as birthday gift, nor will Father Christmas bring a pet for a gift but still it was there at the top of her list.

So this year, now that our little man is older we thought we would go for it. At first we didn’t give too much attention to the lovely little black lab bitch as we thought the family ahead of us in the list would have snapped her up (as they wanted a black female and she was the only one) but they didn’t. The little black girl pup had her brother pinned as her now Lion King Namesake and it all fell into place. The first few weeks were hard as we settled into a new routine took it in turns to the night trip to the garden. We had just settled down and looking forward to the run up to a chaotic Christmas.

Now …the house is empty and cold, Nala’s bed, toys and crate remain out as each new day we hope will be the one she returns but her bed remains empty. The screen on my phone is smashed to pieces as I now take it everywhere, jumping on each call I hear. The conversation always turns to Nala.

I spend the daytime juggling two children, running a house and a career, along with the phone calls, emails and updates in the desperate search for Nala. My evenings are spent finishing off work I didn’t complete during the day (as I was distracted and I have deadlines to meet), following up on further posts, calls and emails, also looking at Labrador after Labrador on the awful, unregulated buying and selling sites.

I do this because I can now only sleep at night knowing that I have tried everything I can think of in that day to try and bring our little puppy home …. to take away the hurt I can see in my husband and my children’s eyes and to make their Christmas wish come true.

On her birthday I asked Sophie what she would like to do with her birthday money. Her response; “Mummy, I will give it to the naughty people, maybe then they will give my Nala back”. This was a week after we had to watch her little heart break in front of us as we told her what had happened. Rather than watching her usually rubbish or playing games during her iPad time she spends it scouring buying and selling sites. She was even caught doing it at school last week.

Our attempts to boost the children’s Christmas spirit have so far failed. The journey en-route generally consists of our three year old asking when he can give Nala a cuddle again, or telling us he misses her. Questions such as “will Father Christmas’ magic bring her home”, “will the naughty people’s children get presents from Father Christmas?” A new one today was “Mummy I wouldn’t have cared if they took our Christmas presents, I just want Nala”.

Sarah
Nina, we cannot put how much we are prepared to offer in print as we could be legally held to it, and also they may hang on to her in the hope of more. To be honest, I don't think it will make any difference as if they wanted money I am sure they would have come forward by now. But just to put it out there, we won't put a figure on it but I can say it is more than we paid for Nala in the first place and much more than anything we can see being sold on the Scumtree etc.
DogLostNina
Sarah I have hesitated in putting this suggestion in print. In an effort to draw these 'people' who have taken Nala are you allowed or able to state how much reward you are able to offer to get Nala back. Last edited: 2015-12-20 20:58:47 by Nina

Please whoever you are do the right thing let Nala go home for Christmas Nala is a little girls dream and her dreams would come true if Nala goes home come on please find in your heart to get her home
There is really nothing worse than losing something so very precious

Sorry guys tools can be replaced a living creature never can be
skittikitty
I have read on FB that £5000 of tools were stolen in the last couple of days from Petersfield. They have asked people to look in Chichester. As this is where Nala went, along with tools I think it must be the same gang. The Police will catch them as they will slip up. Must still be in the area too.
Sarah
The banners haven't arrived yet which is a pain but they will be going up as soon as I get them!

I've received a few more calls around the Petersfield / Hampshire area again so I think I will pop one of the banners up around the A3, especially as more dogs have been stolen further south along this stretch. They are more stupid than I gave them credit for if she is here, local people are not going to appreciate such cruel activity going on so close to home.

Unknown
Well done for getting Nala in the papers this week Sarah as they certainly do go far and wide across the counties(thank you to our local paper as well)

Who ever took her would be well advised to take her somewhere safe like a vet or dog rescue to be scanned and reunited with her little owner sooner rather than later I feel.

So come do the right thing and make a Christmas wish come true xxxx
DogLostNina
Good to hear from you Sarah. Have you managed to get your banners and put them up, hope they bring lots of attention.
Sarah
I can't believe the audience we have on Nalas theft can continue to grow at such a rapid rate, especially at this busy time of year! The shares on this page alone goes up several hundred a day and the local press have sent our situation into overdrive. Not to mention the Facebook audience where my posts spread like wildfire.

Everyone across the surrounding counties are talking about it. She isn't just hot but on fire. Fortunately, the fire service are one of our closest supporters so they will be on hand to put her out when we get her back!!!

There are a couple of very interesting sightings going on at the moment which we are following up on. It is very difficult as there are so many black labs around but those that are in the know can see some don't suit a certain type of person! I just feel for those who have genuinely bought a black lab puppy, they must be getting lots of suspicious looks at the moment.

My advice to the scum who took her is to give up now before we find you. Life is going to be very difficult if you are caught and your face made public when you attend court, and just think of all those other cases you will be questioned on, or even be guilty of!
Sarah
Thank you Animal Aunt. It wasn't Nala but it is a comfort to know that so many Eagle eyes are out there looking for her.

We have gone into print this week. The local press have been lovely and I know the Midhurst & Petworth Observer have a good spread. I haven't had chance to check the others yet.

Hopefully the banners will arrive tomorrow and will be strategically placed to get all the Christmas shoppers attention as they head in and around the Chichester area at the weekend. If any are removed i will take it that someone is feeling a little uncomfortable ;)
Noneed
Sarah I have been keeping up to date with your story and wanted to let you know about the sighting of "a young girl with a lab puppy on a pink lead. Running around outside the cafe at Durleigh Marsh farm shop" from 7/12/15. I think I can confirm this was unfortunately not Nala as I am looking after said puppy today. I had mentioned sighting to the owners as soon as I saw the pink lead and collar and they confirm they often go to the farm shop at the weekends and have a coffee after walks. Sorry I couldn't be the bearer of better news but thought at least you can cross that sighting off the list. All the best and hope she is found soon.
Doglover
Good for you Sarah. Never give up. Xxx
Sarah
The M&P are on it. I also started to call all the other papers covering Sussex and Hampshire but one call covers all as they are all interlinked. The story is being shared and they hope to get as much coverage as possible ... with the hope that there is a lovely happy story to cover in their Christmas edition.

For the thieves sake they need to make it happen because the longer this goes on the angrier I become and the more I will push for justice at the end. My hunt will not stop until Nala is safely home, the quicker it happens, the easier they are making it for themselves.
DogLostNina
Do so hope we hear news of this puppy soon.
Unknown
So pleased our local paper the Midhurst and Petworth Observer is helping again to get another lost soul back home.

Keep thinking positive Sarah

Sarah, I have been told by the owner of two dogs stolen in Thaxted Essex a Bedlington and a Saluki, who is in contact with the owner of Mearl also stolen in Witham Essex, that Mearl and her owner are on The One Show on Wednesday evening. If you could get hold of the BBC maybe Nala could be mentioned as well. Mearl was dumped in a field right near where the Lurchers were stolen. Mearl ID 95628 and Lurchers 95641. Nina,I haven't been able to get to the sorting office when they are open. Although I did contact the Royal Mail press team to see if they could help.

The Observer have been really helpful and had a similar situation only a few months ago are trying to help us as much as they can. There is already the article on the website and we are hoping to get this in print.

The gentleman I spoke to at South Today yesterday was lovely, he asked me to send the details through so hopefully they will be able to put something out. I am also in contact with "This Morning" and "Good Morning Britain" so we will see what comes of this.

Does anyone have a direct contact at the Argus or Portsmouth News? I only get the generic email address for which I haven't received a response yet.

I have put a printed advert in the Friday Ads this week, and have also updated raised new adverts on all the buying and selling sites I can think of!

The Police officer in charge is also being really helpful and seems as determined to catch them as we are. Only problem is their reward here will be the hassle of court appearances etc and also EVERYONE will know who they are then ;)

Please do the right thing and let little Nala go home to her empty bed and little owner.
Do something really lovely for Christmas, whoever has her will feel so good at making a Christmas wish come true.
Come Nala you are so needed back home xxxx

Just had a call back from officer dealing on this case to go over everything we are doing. Any leads have been studied and explored up and while it is an on going investigation we need fresh leads to follow.

Please if anyone has any suspicions please phone doglost in complete confidence.

IF the Thieves want to just return Nala no questions asked suggest they take to nearest vets or rescue where she will be looked after until owners can be contacted.
Just imagine it was your daughter or niece or young sister heart broken at the theft- would you not want someone to do the right thing and return Nala back?
Doglover
Yes Sarah, we are out here all over the UK . You are not the only person that had not heard of Doglost and every time I walk my dogs and I come I. Contact with other dog owners, I tell them about this wonderful site. Praying that Nala will be home soon. Xx
Sarah
Thank you so much to everyone at DogLost for all your help and support. I had no idea you guys were out there two weeks ago. I now know you are everywhere hunting down the evils that take our precious friends.

I cannot seem to upload another picture on this site - are admin able to help please?

Two weeks ago today this little darling was taken.
Please dig deep in your heart and hand her back to her young owner who is devastated at her loss.

Less than two weeks to Christmas and Nalas little owner has had to spend her Birthday without her but you can now make her Christmas Wish Come True by doing the right thing and getting Nala home where she belongs.

Imagine if you had lost something anything that was truely dear to you how would you feel? life is far too short to break peoples hearts this way please please return her.

If you do not want to be known ring DOG LOST you might have bought Nala unknowingly PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING.

Nala hurry home darling xxxx

Wonder if Bognor Football club have any local fixtures coming up that you could get posters handed out or any other football clubs come to that.

This is written on Nalas F/B page and is extremely upsetting to see her empty bed I urge anyone who might know where she is PLEASE DO GET IN TOUCH TO GET HOME PLEASE

Finding Nala
12 hrs ·
Still empty frown emoticon
There is more than one person who knows where Nala is. If this is you I urge you to come forward. You could be a kind Samaritan who took her in after finding her abandoned, or mistakenly bought her ….you will not be in trouble. Even ‘those’ that took her will not be in trouble at this stage.
As I have said before, Nala is extremely vulnerable. If she becomes really sick could you watch a little puppy suffer? If you take her to the vet she will be scanned.
Hiding her will only become harder.
Nala’s page has reached over 60,000 people this week alone. With the posts on other Facebook sites, shares on DogLost, Twitter and radio we have a massive following across the UK. Everyone we / family come across knows Nala is not where she belongs.
This is only a tiny part of the activities. Help and new ideas continue to flow from many different sources.
I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has shared my posts and for all your kind comments. I apologise for not responding to them all but I am really struggling to keep up!
Also, a massive thank you to the people who are calling with possible sightings / to check whether the dog they have found is Nala. Please don’t be sorry for getting my hopes up…. one of them may just be her. It gives me comfort to know so many eagle eyes are out there.
Also, thank you to all those you are spending their own time and money putting posters up and handing leaflets up. I am overwhelmed by the support received.
To the few that think it is fun to pretend they have found Nala. Don’t bother, I clock you quite quickly and enjoy playing on your stupidity wink emoticon
Believe me, with two very upset children, I am far from giving up!

Stay Safe Nala Darling until you are found xxxxLast edited: 2015-12-13 09:06:53

Sarah
She isn't home. You guys will be the first to know when she is!

My mother is working with another radio station who are putting something out (I think its Wave as she is a regular listener). I'm still waiting on the papers, tv etc but will be pushing this next week if she doesn't return by the weekend. I want to give them a chance to return her off the back of the 'missing' adverts.

The posts on Nala's FB page alone have reached 62,000, this is excluding the 'missing' posts made on all the local buying and selling sites.

Unfortunately some posts fall into the hands of those people that seem to enjoy hurting us even more by pretending they have Nala. They will never be a decent enough parent to understand how hard it is to watch their little's girls heart be broken at the hands of others greed.
DogLostNina
Sarah keeping coming back on Nalas page for any news. Did you manage to get any media interest from newspapers or TV
Sarah
The 'missing' post seems to be working!

I have received several calls from various locations across the country (yes country and not county!). I have followed up on them all but unfortunately no Nala so far ... if you are reading this and made the calls, please don't feel bad for giving me false hope. I would rather the calls came in, it gives me comfort to know there are so many eyes out there looking for her. Thank you xxx
Sarah
No developments. I have plastered Facebook with new posts highlighting a large reward is available. I 'forgot' to put where she went 'missing' from so it is attracting an awful lot of attention already!
DogLostNina
Hello Sarah how are you doing have you had any developments. We at doglost are still rooting for you and Nala.

There is a black puppy running loose around Mead Lane in Chichester near the wood.co.uk sign .... is anyone in the area???
DogLostNina
CJ out of interest do doglost or any other organisation keep stats on how many dogs and puppies have and are been stolen over recent times, just wondering if the numbers are increasing.
Sarah
Thank you CJ. They are going to be lucky to find a vet that doesn't scan a black lab. My mother in law has called most vets in the country!

My husband went up to DurleighMarsh this morning. The farm shop knew nothing, he spoke to a lovely lady outside but the lady actually in the café was not helpful, apparently we are just one of many whose dog has gone missing recently.

All schools along the Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire border have the poster now too. The lovely principal and his PA at Mill chase have sent the email around to all local heads just to make sure they all have a copy!Last edited: 2015-12-08 20:37:49 by Sarah
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
The one good thing is that this puppy is microchipped- done by the breeder before selling- there is a CRN so anyone buying this puppy must at some stage go to the vets and hopefully it is one that scans. I just hope the thieves are reading this as its going to be a very hard dog to sell- and hope that ANYONE thinking of buying a puppy goes to a reputable source and not from a dodgy advert or at a boot fayre- as if you buy a stolen dog it is not yours as buying stolen property- and in time it will be found out and more heartbreak for you for buying her.
DogLostNina
Sarah what about Countryfile on BBC1 Its about time they did an article about the amount of dogs stolen from the towns, countryside and farms. It is well known that most of the presenters have either family or working dogs how would they feel if they were in a similar situation.
Sarah
I contacted a number of the papers yesterday. Spirit FM have been great, their sister station is the Eagle so I am contacting them and Heart today. Also Crimewatch, they are broadcasting next week.
Rose
Have you been able to get media coverage? Some of the time when dogs are stolen the thieves take to bordering county. Nala needs to be found quickly b4 she is tried to be sold on. I so hope she is found very soon x

Hi Sarah the farm is near Rogate it lays just of the main A272 road a young girl with a lab puppy on a pink lead
I was wondering if they have CCTV up there she was seen running around with the pup outside the Cafe that is up there
Good Luck

I cannot say enough how amazingly helpful everyone has been only one trader on the market in Chichester didn't react well, but he may not have realised what it was .... he also missed out on trade as we were planning to stock up the freezer! The reception at Ford was also off but other than that we haven't met anyone who doesn't already know / willing to help. The links keep coming to things are only going to get worse if they keep hiding her!

Thank you so much to everyone that is helping, I cannot say enough how grateful we are.

Posters put up in Liss GU33 - alerts to that post code would be helpful as it connects to Bordon.

Thanks Jayne. Sarah and her family and friends are working so hard to get Nala back home. We have an amazing local community here that have come on board for Nala....shops,businesses, local media (Sarah is also in contact with local tv)...I popped in to the very busy McDonalds at Chichester Gate yesterday and they have Narla's poster on the door that everyone has to go through!

Dog folk and a mother with children who have been affected ... giving up is not an option!

I did receive a tip overnight that a puppy was found abandoned in Bordon, Hants last week. The lady who rescued it had her at the Christmas Fair Saturday. There are no details on what breed or age the puppy is but word is out. I have posted it on Facebook urging her to take the puppy in to be scanned, it may not be Nala but it could be some other poor family suffering the same nightmare.

The lovely FB people in the local area are dropping posters around today, I have contacted the schools and vets.
Ratel
Saddened to hear that Ford was hostile (? not a good sign in itself) but well done for persevering. Hopefully your presence will have been noted and may possibly even filter through to the culprit, showing him/her that dog folk never give up.
DogLostNina
Sarah I am pleased that you mentioned other parties that could be involved as there is always the possibility that the chancers of this world are other than the travellers and I agree that we do have a large 'diverse' population that has grown over the past 5 years down here. Who ever has done this nasty deed surely does not know just how much its affected you and yours and the community
Sarah
There wasn't a very nice reception at Ford! Everywhere else we have hit have been lovely, the guys were followed but a few leaflets got out and car park checked.

I have pulled off the council liaison officer details but there are also police contacts for which there is a nice long list of email addresses I will be tapping notes to later today.

Although people draw a lot of attention to travellers, there is a very large Eastern European population in the area and they may of got lucky looking for more than just work.Last edited: 2015-12-08 11:06:01 by Sarah
Ratel
Excellent idea, Skywalker. Obviously Nala would not be on open sale at Ford Market but she could be stashed in a vehicle, detective skills required to observe the carpark.
Skywalker99
Your local council should have a traveller liaison officer. I know you have gone onto the sites yourself but I would contact them....they should know the key people in the traveller community

Everyone does something in their life that they end up regretting. Surely you can find it somewhere in your heart to do this...... PLEASE. X

Awesome, thank you!!! I am in contact with Meridian TV so hopefully not long until she gets on that TV screen now!

It is my little girls birthday tomorrow. As we are both pretty tense with the whole search we will be parking the IT communication during the day but we have family and friends out and about at the local hotspots.

They wouldn't be stupid enough to take her to the market .... would they?? If they do the most definitely aren't on social media!

Thank you so much all.

We personally won't be at Ford or Fontwell tomorrow but there will be peeps there handing out the many leaflets KerryType Ltd kindly gave us!
DogLostNina
That's a great idea Ratel but in talking with Sarah it was one of the things that came up and I found out that its her daughters birthday tomorrow and its her daughters puppy that is missing. I am not sure if Ford would be on the agenda or whether they have anyone free to go there. Guess what my next question is going to be...anyone available to hand out posters to the stall holders to display at Ford. I am not mobile otherwise I would have tried to get there myself.
Ratel
If Nala was mine, I'd certainly have a snoop around Ford Airfield Market tomorrow which I understand attracts a healthy crowd, especially at this time of year. Quite apart from finding the pup herself, it would be an excellent venue for leaflet distribution with folk travelling from all over the area.

Social media is not my forte I'm afraid, I'm learning Facebook fast and my sister in law is helping with Twitter. I'll take a look. I didn't realise it was so popular!
Sarah
There are several sites nearby and I have visited all making it clear my only intention here is to get my little lady home. Two sites were accommodating. The third wasn't quite so and he looked quite shocked when I approached him, he was also quickly on his phone as I left! This is also the site where I understand there has been a recent raid by thecRSPCA and breeding dogs taken.I'm not sure what type of traveller they are but if it was them they were on the wrong soil, Nala was taken, literally yards from one of the other sites.

When we were out and about there was a pick up which we thought was a little too interest in our movements. The number plate was odd too and when we ran through was also registered to a different vehicle.

The police have been informed of everything and are following up. We have some leads which is hopeful.

Doglover
If anyone can get hold of Riverlady on this site, maybe Admin can, she does a lot of circulating on Twitter. Xxx
DogLostNina
That's a good point Doglover have you got twitter covered Sarah as I don't think I have read much about that in your messages.
Doglover
Sarah, from your post of the 3 Dec letting us know where your husband,s van was, are you sure, as it was early in the morning and down a track, that there were no Travvelrs sites nearby, as they would steal strikers as they often do gardening work and the puppy would be a bonus. I know you have said you have spoken to Travellers, but can your husband remember if there were any in the vicinity? Xxif I was not in Essex, I would be helping you search. I also do not do Facebook or Twitter. It I know you have that covered. Xx I am praying for you all. Xxx
DogLostCJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
Keep up the excellent work Sarah- she will be so hot any one even close will get burnt!! Also as said I am waiting for a call back to update Sussex police .
Sarah
I have received some interesting news today!

The RSPCA have been active in the local area recently, taking dogs/puppies from known breeding sources. One particular location have lost their pups and may well be looking for a replacement.

If this is the case Nala is most definitely of no use to them as she is unlikely to survive gestation and if you want to find out whether she can or not she will have to go to a vet who will then scan and return her for free!

If this turns out to be correct it means the culprits have been treading on turf that is not their own, way too close to others front door... they could chat across the road!

As she is so hot they may have had to move Nala West, towards Southampton or the Dorset coast to cool down. But don't worry we will be there too ... we are everywhere and it will be getting worse over the weekend as word spreads. Social media is fantastic but there is nothing like word of mouth and having my little puppy's face staring straight back at you every which way you turn.

That's it for now ..... let's see what today brings!

DogLostNina
Been thinking what about putting LARGE signs up on the A27 so that even motorists can read them. I am sure there are printing shops nearby that would do them for you. Something like NALA-DOG-MISSING-ON-DOGLOST

DogLostNina
Thanks Skywalker99 for the suggestion of the Sussex police face book. Sorry to say I personally don't do face book or twitter but is it something that a viewing dog lost member could do for Sarah the owner. I have been speaking with Sarah today and poor love is tearing around trying to let as many people, companies and organisation know about Nala as possible.
Sarah
Thank you Skywalker.

Social media is rife. I posted on Midhurst rants Monday and local radio sites as it was the first thing I could think of. Spirit FM have been fab and continue to follow up on progress. I have checked in the past few days but Nala had over 20k shares then! Sussex police put their post on Tuesday.

Nearly everyone I am speaking to or emailing has heard of!

I have contacted all the local schools so hopefully lots of children will be talking now too, especially as it is a little girl who is involved (little boy too but he doesn't understand quite so much, although he was telling Nala off in his sleep Monday night!).

We have called and been into a number of pubs, especially the local ones but this is next on the hit list!

Spirit FM are directing people to the posters on DogLost, not only do I hope this finds Nala but also draws attention to the work you guys do.

Thank you again, everyone for your help and advice.

Can't Sussex police share her on their facebook page? It has 42k followers and would take about 5 minutes to do this.....
Skywalker99
Social media really needs to get going....it is worth searching for all the FB community pages for all the local towns (just type the place name into the search box and select pages from the search results) post her details to all local spotted sites, all local news sites...narrow down sites by using place name +news/dog/community...post to local businesses. Will do what I can between meetings today is she on HA and Vets get scanning yet?
Skywalker99
What is the link for Nala's facebook page? Sounds like an opportunistic theft by someone with local knowledge. Have you got posters up in local pubs? Possible thieves may try and sell the tools and Nala though a pub....I hope she is back soon and that the scumbags don't dump her somewhere. Sounds as though it was either someone with local knowledge or someone who followed your husband from home. Is there any CCTV near your home?Last edited: 2015-12-03 10:55:13 by Skywalker99
Sarah
My husbands van is trade, he is a gardener but was meters away from the van and it was in view, he didn't hear, nor see anything. He attends the house adhoc and has never taken Nala with him there before. The house was off a beaten, no through track. Even the track is difficult to spot from the lane that passes it and there is no need for anyone but residents of the couple of houses to travel it. The door was left ajar to let air in but Nala was in her cage, under a blanket tucked round the corner. They swiped the cage, a strimmer and radio, leaving a number of more expensive items so it was quick. It all happened around 9am in the morning but given the location there was no school run.
Ratel
I agree with Nina that, if you could bear it, knowing fuller details of the theft circumstances might just yield a clue.
DogLostNina
Me again! Don't forget to ask friends and family to put posters in their cars or vans so that you cover a bigger area.
DogLostNina
I have in the past made this suggestion but it would take perhaps a bit of courage. If it were me I would get a loud hailer and stand in the busiest place I know perhaps Chichester Town centre and let every one know that my dog is missing. Hand out posters at the same time. This now is the busiest time of the year to do this and you might even get media coverage by doing this. Be brave! Good luck if you do it.Last edited: 2015-12-02 22:43:21 by Nina

Thanks Sarah for the update. Would it be to painful to explain to us the sequence of events leading up to Nalas disaperance. ie was it a trade van that she went from, was she walked at any stage from the van and was there any obvious 'onlookers' or do you think it was an opportunist.Last edited: 2015-12-02 22:32:51 by Nina
Sarah
Thank you so much for your advice. The chip company and dog warden have been informed. We have been out and about all day, speaking with people on a number of traveller sites, scrap yards, anywhere a 'cash' deal can be done. I even had a traveller girl approach me in Homebase so word is out to all groups. This evening has been a mission of taxi firms, pet supplies/shops the council etc.

Nala is becoming a bit of a celebrity! Most I approached have seen her on FB or heard the radio broadcasts so I think it helped them seeing me as a real person. Nala now has her very own Facebook page! I am struggling to keep up with the comments and the updates aren't getting through so I think this is a more controlled approach (thank you Doglover!). Nina, your advice is help enough, I will try anything to get my little girls back together.
DogLostNina
Has the micro chip company been told that Nala has been stolen. Have you informed the Chichester dog Warden that she is missing.

Do a Facebook page for her and make her TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Put crime reference number on also. Check puppies for sale sites as well. Check out any Travelles sites in area. Xx

Wish I was more mobile to help search for Nala. Can I make a few suggestions. Contact as may schools and colleges as possible and offer a reward towards school funds. Any chance of getting word through to Council offices I beleive they have their own internet, contact vets, pet shops, taxi firms, all local radio stations,..... thats just for starters.
