Sam is still lost, i have checked the kennels and none of the dogs are Sam. Still getting a few phone calls from people seeing posters of Sam but sadly still no Sam. Thank you all again for your help and concern. Mike.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Similar dog to Sam here. Ears are back but that could be due to his situation. Estimated at approx 5 years old but sometimes that's just a guess: http://www.rykat.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=28752&st=15&start=15 Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I will not stop looking either , Mike !! I'm keeping my eyes open every day, where ever I go around the Swansea area. ( even gone up to a couple of black lab types and had a good look at them just in case it was Sam !! - their owners must think I'm mad !! ). How about the Evening post again ? Can't they do a better article ? Any news, please let me know or if you want help.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yes Mike, I agree with you re the Evening Post. Have you thought about contacting the bus depot in Ravenhill and asking them to display some posters for their drivers to see and also, are there any taxi firms around Townhill - the couple that may have Sam must use taxi's and not drive ( based on the info you were previously given ). Good luck.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very dissapointed with the evening post to put it mildly. I have already done door to door of powys, and other streets in the area, and the poster is in the sorting office in morriston where all the postment get the mail to deliver. I understand that Keelah from doglost was in liason with the post about a feature. Mike.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

There is a very small article in tonight's Evening Post re Sam - not even a photo. When the beagle went missing from Morriston a few weeks ago, they featured that on the front page and as a headline !! Could Doglost maybe contact the paper to see if they could do more of a feature ?? Mike - did you do door-to-door postering of Powys Ave ? What about contacting the local postmen in the Townhill area - they usually know what dogs are where on their rounds !Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi, Mike. I met up with 'Daisydoggy' yesterday and she had done a LOAD of posters for me ( thanks !!! ), the A5 size are proving very useful. I'll do Glantawe Street today. Been to Singleton Boot Sale all morning - displayed a poster on my van and gave loads out. One lady also took a batch of them to take home and hand around. I'll also do the dog show tomorrow and Monday. Any news re the Post ??Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If you can do Glantawe street for me that would be a big help as i wont be able to do it myself until sunday as i have to go to work tomorrow ( have not been for 3 weeks so i have to do a day i guess). Really big thank you in advance. Mike.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

fao Mike. How about postering Glantawe Street ?? I can do it tomorrow if you like. Please let me know any developments. And 'Daisydoggy' - have pm'd you re more posters. Perhaps we could now meet tomorrow and do Glantawe Street or I'll do it. I really think the reward bit may finally help, bearing in mind the areas we may be dealing with. Take care when out and about. Any help you want, just let me know via this website.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

He picked them up from clase which is 5mins from us, been looking up townhill and there are no posters there so i am going back up later to put some there. I am still waiting for the evening post to contact me, also Keelah, or jazzi from admin i think is on the case so hopefully it will speed things up regarding a feature for SAM.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Mike - when you say "picked up locally", do you mean he picked them up from your area? Great news that it seems there's been a sighting. Are there any posters up in that area at all? Definately need to push the "reward" now, as that could be what it needs to get him back. I will do some more postering on the weekend too. Hoping Sam is safe and well and really hope you get him back soon. Have there been any updates from the Evening Post? VickiLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call today off a local taxi driver who is convinced he picked a couple up about 2 weeks ago locally who had sam with them all he can remember is that he ped them off in powys avenue townhill. He asked them about the dog and they said he was given to them by a freind from glantawe steet. the taxi driver did not know SAM was missing at the time but has since seen a poster and said the couple were high on drugs and did not look like dog owners. Fresh Hope.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

FAO Mike. After collecting the posters off you this afternoon, I took one to the newsagents in the Pinewood ( they already had one ) and gave one to the Spar. I went to Porthcawl for the afternoon and I know it's quite a way, but it was very busy with tourists, etc, so I gave a poster to the RSPCA shop and the pet shop and put a few around the place. We came back via Llangyfelach, called in to friends living a few doors down from Greenfields and told them too ( and left them a poster ). I have postered all the way back over the mountain road to Craig Cefn Parc ( told a few people - one lady took a poster to display in the PO window) and called in to our friends farm and left them with a poster. I will poster again tomorrow and take some to City of Swansea Show next weekend. Any news, please let me know. DO WE HAVE ANY MORE LOCAL HELPERS OUT THERE PLEASE ???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have some posters here - I can post them to you (although you wouldn't receive them until Tues morn now) or I can meet you somewhere? PM me if I can help - I printed off 120 in work and probably have about 40-50 left (and I can print some more for me). Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello again. I had a good drive around your area yesterday tea time on the way home from the school run. We went to the Midway cafe car park, to the garden centre, to DVLA and Pinewood and then Parcgwernfadog areas, but no luck. I went over to West Wales animal feeds, Llansamlet yesterday, too, and they already had a poster up there. I can not get any more posters done for me ( hubby's bosses on the lookout at work !! ), so may have to meet up with you for a supply. ALSO, IT IS THE CITY OF SWANSEA DOG SHOW NEXT WEEKEND - I WILL BE THERE TWO DAYS, SO IF I CAN GET SOME POSTERS, I'LL GIVE THEM OUT FOR YOU.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just to say, i've just got back home from postering. Saw a few posters out and about too. Postered a lot of bus stops - not sure how often they get cleaned (not very looking at some of them!) but I will try to maintain the posters I have put out. If there's anything else I can do, let me know. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I didnt know the evening post would do a feature, i will definatley ask them. Had a call this morning from a lady who picked a dog up like sam in Rhydypandy and she took him to cockett police station and they in turn took him to greenfields, it was a cross collie lab about 8mths old sadly not sam. Had a call off a couple of kids taking the mick but that is all. Am still putting posters up and calling all the pounds and rescue people also driving everywhere and visiting the pound for a look and searching the internets missing and found dog sites. Thanks for your help i really appreciate it. Mike.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know the Midway cafe, but can't place the 'silver scouts' ????? Are you nearer the Velindre Garden Centre ( I know it has a 'new' name now ) or near the cafe itself ? Do you want me to poster for you ( but you'll have to print them off ). Let me know - we could meet at the cafe car park at a certain time.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sam went missing off our farm next to silver cross scouts just off the A47 by the midway cafe, the last time we seen him was around 10.30pm on monday night 7th may he has never gone far at night before and was playing in the field with our border collie pup she came home on her own without sam.We often get teenagers in their cars down the bottom of our lane eating their mc donalds, we also get alot of lovers there in their cars so i am assuming sam may have got into one of the cars and they took a shine to him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

FAO MIKE !! I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND THE CLASE/PINEWOOD/PARCGWERNFADOG AREAS OVER THE LAST HOUR LOOKING FOR SAM FOR YOU, BUT TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE SEEN A FEW OF YOUR POSTERS, NEAR DVLA. HAVE YOU BEEN TO GREENFIELDS KENNELS - THE LOCAL POUND IS RUN FROM THERE. ASK THEM TO DISPLAY A POSTER AS THEY ARE ALSO AGENTS FOR PEDIGREE FOOD AND BREEDERS CALL THERE FROM ALL OVER THE AREA. I AM NEAR CRAIG CEFN PARC AND GO OVER THE MOUNTAIN ROAD DAILY SO WILL KEEP LOOKING. MY MUM IS IN YNYSFORGAN AND SHE IS LOOKING TOO. I WILL HELP YOU TO POSTER, BUT MY PRINTER IS OUT OF ACTION - IF YOU CAN DO ME A SUPPLY OF POSTERS, I'LL HELP OUT. I CAN TAKE ONE TO MY VET'S - CAMPBELL IN BRYNHYFRYD. AND ALSO PETS AT HOME. SEND ME A PM IF YOU WANT US TO PICK UP POSTERS FROM YOU. WHERE EXACTLY DID HE GO MISSING FROM AND HOW ?? GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE GET IN TOUCH IF YOU WANT HELP.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Forgot to add, there was a posting on another forum yesterday about a collie that had escaped and travelled 5 MILES in about 3 hours - so I really think extending your search area could help greatly.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Yeah and also maybe the local radio (the wave and swansea sound) - I've heard them doing appeals before for missing dogs. If you don't ask you don't get and all that, I guess!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
