Hi, I have forwarded your number to my friend as I think it is their Galah. There were two that escaped not far from you.

Janice: If you are able to borrow a cage from someone, could you perhaps try putting it open on the grass and leaving delicious food inside it - birds (like cats and dogs) do like cheese and lean chicken as well as seed/fruit etc. You could try to sit on the ground within sight but not too near to get it used to you - it is someone's pet so it should be possible to eventually get near it - may take some days! Or, perhaps could leave your back door open and get it used to coming nearer the house? It would be so great if you could recapture it and save its life. Wish I lived near and could help as I am a parrot owner and they are such great pets. I lost one parrot by it getting out and still fret about it 30 years later and wonder about what happened to it.

Yes, does look like a galah, doesn't it? I have emailed John Hayward of the National Register (for lost parrots etc) in case he has heard of it being missing.

Is that grey and dark pink? It's hard to make out but it actually looks like a galah to me. Last edited: 2015-12-26 13:08:19 by Mouses
