Found! A kind lady rang to say that she'd seen her running around behind a bock of flats this morning. I went round and prowled the garden, and eventually found her tangled up in the undergrowth, looking very sorry for herself. I don't think I've ever been happier.

Please ensure that all people looking for Rosie know not to shout her or try to chase her, she needs to be kept safe. The best way to get hold of a frightened lost Sheltie is to carry something like liver or tripe and if you see her turn your back on her, throw some of it behind you and walk away. If you chase her you will not be likely to catch her they are so quick and there is the danger of her running into traffic. Even Linford Christie could not catch a running, weaving frightened sheltie puppy.
Julian Thomas
Thanks, SheltieJo. Kazzi and others are going to come and help search from 10 tomorrow. I'll be following Sheltielover's advice, and going out early on my own to see if she's crept out. I'll take plenty of treats with me.

Shared for you, hope Rosie is home very soon xx

Hi Julian,
I live in Heaton Norris, just round the corner. I will keep my eyes peeled and spread the word.
I will also join the search tomorrow if you need me to?

I really hope you find her soon, I lost my sheltie week before Christmas fortunately I found him after an hour looking, but it made me ill, so I understand how much you are going through. Hopefully someone has caught her, but like people have said leave scent trails, if she responds to squeaky toys, squeak them if she's near she will hear it and come, hope to God she's home soon xx
sheltielover
Please even though it is now dark, leave a trail by dragging your sweaty socks you have worn today, from the last place you saw Rosie right back to where she ran from, then to either where you left the car, or if you walked from home - to your door. She may then come back while it is less noisy. Sheltie's that are lost generally are seen early in the morning or in the evening and hide during the day when it is noisy.
Julian Thomas
Thanks, Sheltielover. We are absolutely desperate to find her, and it is wonderful to be getting such support.

I have shared to all Shetland Sheepdog Facebook pages and on my wall and friends are also sharing - I hope Rosie is found soon - looks so much like one of mine.
Julian Thomas
Thanks, Sheltie Lady - that's really kind.
the sheltie lady
just shared to FB and also to the sheltie forum and uk sheltie list , so will hopefully be seen by the majority of the sheltie fraternity now .

It's dark now, so we're stopping searching, but will start again at 10 am tomorrow. Lots of people coming out to search then. It's most likely that she's hiding in a garden somewhere, or that someone has walked off with her. If so, Kazzi suggests that we set up a Facebook page for her, and share the information on this site as widely as possible. She is a very distinctive little dog, and widespread publicity may make her too hot to handle. So please share on all your networks, especially if you live in Stockport.
Julian Thomas
Thanks, Teresa - that's very kind. Lots of people still out looking.
Teresa
No luck on the common but spoke to a few who live nearer Parsonage Road to get the word out she is missing, come on Rosie lets get you home.
Kazzi
There's people on way to help with search x
Kazzi
Can come and help with search
Julian Thomas
She was dragging her flexi lead behind her, and was very scared. We are very worried that she may have got caught in someone's garden.
Teresa
Sorry Rosie is missing, I'm just going out onto the common SK4, will have a look for her
