Good news and hope not injured.

Another success for our local team especially Karen from County Pet Services who did most of the leg work and advice on this dog. Karen, I and Sprokets owner did share a very late cold night last night searching and ensuring the correct food was left by our (own) trap. So sounds like it was all worth while.

I think the dog was hit somewhere between Freeride and Tedworth House. Sproket came within about 10 feet of us today, so it is so sad that he is still out there. I hope tomorrow morning brings good news and it was freezing out there tonight wasn't Sammie.
Sammie
Tonight myself, Karen from County Pet Services and the owner searched for Sproket from 9pm-11pm. The owners and Karen had searched earlier this afternoon and all three of them saw him but couldn't get near him. This was on private land and permission has been given to set a trap which has been done. This area is not available to the general public.
Tonight around 7pm ish a dog was hit on the road and ran off. This was close to the freeride (bike) park and there is a high possiblity it could have been Sproket as no food has been taken from the places it has been left. The dog that was hit was said to run into the horses field but we are still trying to get to speak to the acutal person who hit (clipped) the dog for an exact location.f
Anyone in Tidworth and Shipton please look out for him as we feel this could have been him

Request from Karen:
If anyone wants to help with the search for Sproket what we need is people to go out putting posters up around the snoddington lane, Tidworth, shipton bellinger, Kimpton and Fifield area, posters can be printed from the doglost page I will put a link on shortly. Thank you to anyone who can help, if you are going to poster an area please post on here what area you have done. Thank you.

I have been in contact over last couple of days with Haley and given advice and offered my help Please anyone spotting him do not chase he is very scared.
Sammie
I texted the number on this page on Wednesday at 18.29 and got no response, so tbh I thought he had been found. Is the number correct?
I think Karen who I work along side spoke to the people but if they need more advice they need to come back to us.
For a minumn these sightings need to be plotted on a map with the place he went missing from added and also where his home is.
I was in Shipton today and didn't see any posters and asked the lady (who has dogs and dogs sits) if she had seen any and she hadn't.
She only knew about him from the text I sent her on Wednesday.
Just make sure you have notified both councils as it sounds like he could border two counties and the process for lost / found dogs in each county is very very different.
Wilts police will give you a log number too if lost on the Wilts side, but Hampshire police will not.
TVBC DW will do his upmost to return a dog whilst in Wilts if they are unchipped it is down to the owner to find locate the dog if it goes to kennels.

Jottersmum - that post is incorrect, crossed wires somewhere. This dog is still missing.

There was a post copied onto Tidworth Dogs Club on Facebook. If you go onto Tidworth Dogs Club there is another post in reference to what she thinks was a young Great Dane seen loose in Bulford, brown and cream coloured. Someone is querying whether it was a Great Dane or not but the poster is not sure what breed.

Do you know what site this comment was on on Facebook please. Can't seem to find it.

There is apparently a post on Facebook on the Bulford Selling page that someone had a dog come running up to them on Nelson Close, which I assume is Bulford. This is what they posted - "Looked wet, muddy and I don't think he/she had a collar on. I didn't have time to get a pic and not too sure on the breed. Its quite a tall dog with white and brown patches. I didn't see an owner anywhere in sight. I didn't have time to get a pic as it just ran off round the close". If Sproket went missing from the back of Shipton Bellinger, he could have easily made it to Bulford as it is not very far from Shipton Bellinger. Last edited: 2016-01-07 11:37:59 by Korabb
