- Animal Ark holds the pound contract for Carrickfergus, Larne and Newtownabbey Co Antrim, N Ireland. So this dog was probably surrendered to the pound by Alan's wife. It isnt clear whether or not the pound administration was willing to pass on a message to Rusty's new owners. Very often owners would refuse to return a dog, and if they rehomed the dog from a pound the dog is legally theirs. I would hope that Ark did communicate with them and that they would AT LEAST be willing to supply a photo and report on how Rusty is, which would be some consolation.

- From their website it looks as though The Ark is not a rescue but a boarding kennel. Still, you'd think they'd have a record of someone they re-homed a dog to.Last edited: 2016-01-08 10:07:25 by Veronica

- I do not know what animal shelters are like in Ireland but in England all the rescue centres that I know do not rehome at Xmas time .Seems very odd has this been confirmed with the animal shelter in question ?
