- I wonder if he jumped into a vehicle or was spooked by a dog?
Applause to Roger for his amazing efforts - some of them in the snow. A good friend indeed! And well done to the owner of the barn too. So very pleased that Georgie is homed for all concerned.

- What great news to hear that Georgie has been found. I wonder how he came to be such a long way from home. But, of course, a huge WELL DONE to Roger for all his hard work and tenacity. What a wonderful friend to have. Georgie does sound quite a character but I do hope his adventuring days are now over. How lovely that you can put your feet up this evening, watch the telly and have a celebratory cuppa or glass of wine, whilst Georgie catches up on his beauty sleep between meals! Welcome home Georgie and no more worrying your Mum xx

- Georgie is home!! Roger (a friend of the owner) has worked so hard postering and leafleting, spending hours every single day searching for him. All his hard work has paid off today - so happy for him. Welcome home Georgie, no more wandering xx
Update from Roger:
Georgie the cat has been found!!!! He has lost a massive amount of weight and is very quiet but he's with his owner, Louise, safe and sound. He was found in a barn on Clifton Fields, around a couple of miles away from home and we have no idea how he got there, but frankly don't care. The gentleman who found him shut the barn and called Louise who rushed down and Georgie came straight to her. He must have survived on whatever he could find and is now eating his way through quite a bit. Thank you so much to all of you who have looked for him, all who have posted, all who have sent encouraging messages. I'll start removing all the posters in a day or so and informing shops, etc, which are kindly displaying his missing details - just first want to make sure the lovable lug doesn't go missing again when he is first let out!

- Another update from Roger, he is working so hard to find Georgie xx
Beat yesterday's record - 6 hours 20 today of putting up your posters and posting your flyers and the latter was in the snow. They seem to be having an effect though as three people called with possible sightings. Sadly none panned. out. - 2016-01-15 21:24 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
- Update from Roger who is very kindly helping Georgie's owner.
Message to all Freckletonians about Georgie the missing cat. I've now posted flyers about Georgie through pretty much every door in Wades Croft, Asnbro, the first half of Green Lane, Summit Drive, Bunker Street, the first half of Preston Old Rd, Richardson Close, Avalon Drive, Newton Drive, Croft Butts Lane, Naze Lane, Mason Close and Astley Crescent. Much more of the village will be covered tomorrow and Sunday and more posters are going up also. Please read the flyer and have a look for Georgie in your sheds and garages even if you think he couldn't get in or that your dog might put him off. A special request, though, is for anyone in the Clifton Place / Bush Lane area - could you keep an eye out for him.please, as a wonderful family in Clifton Place thought he might have tried to enter their home today he's confident by nature and probably just saw a catflap and the chance of food) and another possible sighting in the area mentioned a bedraggled black and white cat? It might not have been Georgie but if it was, he might even be heading further away, perhaps down Ribble Avenue. Please look at the photo below - he's a big lad, much bigger than the average cat, with quite long fur and his face is distinctive (white on the right). He has a brown collar with a gold disc with his name, address and phone number. He is microchipped and registered missing with every vet and rescue centre in the area. If he's still in the village, it's about time he came home. Thanks for ay help you can give.
If anyone is local to this area, please look out for him and help spread the word. Thank you xx - 2016-01-10 18:43 Riverlady

- Is Georgie neutered? As if not he may have gone looking for a lady friend Neutered cats dont tend to wander far from home usually. Presume all outbuildings were searched? Put some tuna in his dish, and keep calling his name. Night or early morning is best; shake some treats too. Use something with his scent on suich as his blanket/bedding, and place in a clean container, along with something with your scent on too. Leave in the gardren in a sheltered spot. Wipe his scent on all your garden fences (Inside, and out), and gates too. Try this too; open a TIN of cat food with door open ,as the sound of the opener, and smell olf food may help bring him back. Is there a new "Kid on the block" (Strange cat) as sometimes a new dominant cat will scare a cat out of its own territory. However the cat will return eventually. Put "Lost" posters through doors, and ask around. Paws xd.
