- This one is definitely worth reading - thank goodness for persistent DogLost detectives - not only cross matching but working valiantly with owner to prove to SDK that the dog they had was in fact ICE - keep that video safe now Kevin

- Oh my, thanks for the update Gilly, could of ended completely differently, thank god there was some supporting evidence, hopefully now he will get a micro chip, a collar and tag and get him registered with a vet, despite all that, welcome home ice

- Ice is finally home. A good example (no disrespect Kevin) of why a simple tag and chip could save a lot of stress and worry. Ice was found and SDK took him. No tag no chip. The picture SDK took was particularly bad as the facility the dogs are kept in is dark with no windows and bad lighting. The picture Kevin put up was a brighter picture and you could be forgiven to think it was wasn’t the same dog. After I posted Ice from SDK I called Kevin. Kevin had posted Ice at 21.42 on the Monday. SDK didn’t post him until the Tuesday at 9.18am. The time line should have been enough! Being a man Kevin is not one to take pictures of his dog on a daily basis, not like many of us ladies who seem to have a camera full of pictures of our dogs. Anyway SDK in so many words accused Kevin of just wanting a German Shepard and trying to get him cheaply. As Kevin didn’t have any pictures of Ice and he had never taken him to a vet SDK refused to give him back. They are quite within their rights to do so. Tuesday night with the help of Bo we got every name, e mail address and contact number of papers, MD of SDK and members of the council so Kevin could e mail SDK copying in every Tom Dick and Harry to see if this would help. As luck would have it, Kevin managed to get hold of a friend who looked after Ice last year and took a video of him. Kevin sent this to SDK and they accepted it and he was allowed home. A happy ending but it could have been so different. Welcome home Ice and thanks for the call Kevin glad you have your boy back. xxxLast edited: 2016-01-15 14:51:38

- Hi.
Sorry to hear about your missing doggy. I know the area well, only moved from there last year so if you need help please just ask.
We train a young GSD X in tracking here, so if you think it'll help I can bring him down and work the area near you, but at this early stage he may well be likely to turn up with good publicity, posters, and eyes open.
You would also have the nature reserve along the Brook running really close to Yeading Lane there, so maybe ask a few of the houses along the Greenway looking over that area to keep a look out.
Weve worked with a few of the missing dog scenarios in vast rural areas now, and one thibg that is sometimes missed is to note the wind direction after they dissappear as the majority of lost dogs that are roaming are reputed to travel into the wind before they settle into an area to rest etc, so grab a map and plot out where you'd think he'd head in that direction as a starting point perhaps.
If I can help at all, let me know, I'm on 07495330839 / Andy.
Best of luck! - 2016-01-11 23:33 Karen - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
