- Yes, a good job done by all yesterday.
I have to say that victoria was very certain it was Bean right from the start. She saw several things on the photo that she recognised (as owners do!)about the found dog.
Very special thanks to the Merton Dog Warden who took time to help us with making positive identification and talking to victoria when he was off duty.
Looking forward to tomorrow and I will be here for victoria if needed.
- 2016-02-21 14:28 JulieH
- Well done Calamity Jane ! Can't wait to reunited picture x
- 2016-02-21 01:25 CalamityJane
- So happy the dog I found posted on a Surrey town FB page and then logged on DL has turned out to be Bean. Sadly it took me over 5 hours of hard work to extract the information from the acquaintance of the 'finder' who was the one to post the dog on FB in the first place, that she had been handed to the Merton DW and get a sex for the dog and an age. By this time the DW was well and truly closed else she may have been home already.
Bean and Fern were my possible matches on DL, but as I had been told there was no visible marks/scars on the found dog and Bean was listed as not having a chip this threw me off even after Fern was ruled out, but thanks to another lady posting on DL Surrey that they thought it may be Bean I went and looked at the found dogs photo again and tried zooming in on my Ipad and saw what looked like a possible match for the cyst, as did others. I then managed to get a message to the DW out of hours service today and gave the number I'd used to Bean's owner too. So pleased that Victoria was then able to contact the DW as was the DL Area Co-Ordinator for E. Sussex and we have the wonderful news today that it is Bean rather than having to wait until Monday to find that out.
If anyone knows of any other dogs taken from Mayfield on the same day as Bean please let me know and I'll keep an eye on the local FB groups near where Bean was found as quite a few dogs have been found straying round there recently. For obvious reasons I don't want to post this on FB or the Surrey group page where she was found as they will be being monitored now. Look forward to seeing the reunited photo too! Tracey. - 2016-02-20 23:18 Julie - Area Co-ordinator - Surrey & South London
- Have been following on the Dog Lost Surrey facebook page absolutely delighted that Bean has been found and they will be reunited on Monday which can't come soon enough ! - Thanks for updating victoria! Glad you managed to get logged in ok.
So glad that we were able to get in touch with the Dog Warden and confirm that it was Bean!
Thanks zwippyd for putting that link on the page.
The dog was posted as found in Purley Way, Croydon area and after a long time trying to track down where she had been taken victoria and I both managed to contact the Dog Warden. Thanks for helping when you were off duty!
Such a shame that victoria will have to wait until Monday to collect Bean but at least we know that she is in safe hands again.
Can't wait to hear from victoria on Monday that she has got her Bean! - 2016-02-20 22:55 Heth

- I have just spoken to victoria and she is almost certain it is Bean. Hopefully confirmation will be given that it is Bean when they get to speak to the Dog Wardens, which unfortunately may not be until Monday.
Keeping everything crossed for victoria and Bean :)

- Owner is checking but may have to wait until Monday to speak with the Dog Wardens.
I have given the out of hours number to her though. However, the found dog apparently has a microchip and when person was contacted they said they had sold the dog on. So not sure if it is Bean or not.
Fingers crossed that it is her ... - 2016-02-20 09:19 Veronica
- Bean's owner is waiting for Dog Wardens to open to find out about 98788.

- Definitely looks like the one found in post below is Bean. If you zoom the pic for the found one, Im pretty sure you can even see the cyst under the left eye !

- Maybe worth checking this dog Sadie for a possible match - Sadie, bought from a travellers site in Stourport-on-Severn off gumtree on Monday but unfortunately is now missing in Lincolnshire. Will get a better photo soon hopefully. Sadie does have a small white flash on her chest.

Keep checking all the rescue homes and kennels in the area as well as the selling sites.

- If you can get media coverage it will be good for public to know that a certain vehicle was seen but maybe not best to advertise plate number incase it hinders police investigations.Hopefully the scumbags will hand this lovely girl in to a safe place x

- Hi I have put posters in mayfield and put posters up in heathfield last night. I think ringing the radio stations is a great idea. I'm going to do that now. I'm also going to put posters up in tunbrigde wells later on this evening. Thanks for all your support!!!
Also someone came forward with a description of a car. She thinks it was a Really old Ford Fiesta. I have passed on the license plate and car make to the police. Let's hope they do something with it. - 2016-01-22 08:57 Zoe - Area Volunteer - East Sussex
- Victoria - so sorry that Bean is still missing. I have shared Beans poster on facebook (I live in Heathfield). Have you displayed any posters locally? Have you thought about displaying some offering a reward? I know she's been stolen rather than lost, but the thieves are obviously still doing the rounds locally. Perhaps if they see a poster offering a reward, then they might get in touch? Just a thought. I do hope she turns up safely. x

- I am sorry to hear about bean. Do we know what make of car and possibly the she of the car. I drive to mayfield every night so will keep a look outcome I live in heathfield and have two dogs so will keep an eye out too. I have spread the word and I think that all dog owners should be on alert. I have noticed no posters in heathfield or mayfield on my walks Uckfield radio are very helpful and when my friends dog was stolen she went on itv so the media are a very good source and we got the dog back

- Thanks Victoria. I have amended the CRN to that number for you.
- 2016-01-21 14:38 victoria
- Also can the crn number changed to 47160007436 because the one you have on the poster is the preliminary report number. Thanks
- 2016-01-21 14:37 victoria
- I have been round all the shops in mayfield and they do not have cctv or do not have cameras pointing out on to the road.
Haven't heard anymore about the heathfield dog but will keep you posted - 2016-01-21 09:34 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Have you any details on the possible stolen dog in Heathfield?
- 2016-01-20 22:40 kjane85
- Are there any CCTV cameras in Mayfield High St that may have car on camera as it drove through the village? Or Heathfield if that's where they moved on to. I read on Facebook of a sighting on Tuesday and exact time which would help pinpoint footage. Police may have already checked but just a thought.
- 2016-01-20 20:15 victoria
- Hi. This is Tor - Bean's owner. Thanks for all your support so far. Sadly she is still missing.
I can confirm that the suspects are two men in a pale blue hatchback - one possibly English, the other possibly Eastern European. Main guy described as 6foot-ish and thin. We believe them still to be in the area and we think they may have taken another dog in Healthfield this morning.
We have shared the DogLost poster and a video of Bean on Facebook and have been searching for good groups to get her shared more widely. Any ideas please let us know.
Thanks again. - 2016-01-19 21:58 TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

Am in St Leonards, but have contacts in Battle & Heathfield, fingers crossed x

- Update:
Have been told that there have been more reports of the blue vehicle.
One was this morning when a woman was stopped by a blue vechicle this morning with 2 males in it, both eastern European, again in Mayfield.
Apparently, they have also been spotted in Heathfield, Broad oak and surrounding areas, all reported to the Police. - 2016-01-19 11:42 kjane85
- Get in touch with the K & S Courier and see if they can get it in the paper this week.....there must be a dog lover there who would report the story.
- 2016-01-19 11:12 Brighton Dogwatch
- We have shared to Brighton Dogwatch facebook page - www.facebook.com/brighondogwatch. A description of the thieves would be helpful. Let us know and we can add it to our post. best of luck.

- I'm so sorry to see that Bean has been stolen. If you are able to let us know the circumstances it would help but will understand if you preferit to remain confidential.
You need to make Bean TOO HOT TO HANDLE by printing posters and getting them up everywhere and anywhere in the area as quickly as possible. This will ensure that people know she is missing.
I have sent you an email with some advice. (I will also inform our Police Co-ordinator about Bean)
Best of luck with your search for Bean. Last edited: 2016-01-18 14:49:34 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2016-01-18 14:10 HelenCh
