- I am very sad to say that Mack has gone to Rainbow Bridge :(
I was asked not to put out any info until his owner ( who was at work when he was found) was home & had been informed.
Sadly it was his body found on the railway
Our thoughts are with his owner.
Thank you to all who shared & helped with postering etc. - 2016-01-22 17:06 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland

Sorry to read last post Ria. - 2016-01-22 12:16 Ria
- Just to let you know a deceased dog has been found this morning near to the search area - waiting on confirmation. Praying it's not Mack 😞
- 2016-01-22 12:11 Ria
- Yes did say to one of the lady's there this morning if should could do this but she was calling him so I asked her not to do this as mack is spooked by every thing and every one and other dogs more so , hopefully we can get some good news today
- 2016-01-22 12:06 Ria
- I will do the rounds again in a hour or so just got to take my boys up towans for there walk and then will do the rounds and park up in the area and see if he pops his head out
- 2016-01-22 12:03 Baydogs
- Yes, I understand that he's easily spooked by other dogs too, so if seen by anyone with an offlead dog, please could you put your dog/s on a lead if Mack is anywhere near. Thanks.
- 2016-01-22 11:59 Ria
- Well let's hope today with weather break he may show him self a bit more but no news iv been out again but nothing yet , would help if people didn't try and call him or try to catch him iv have told a few people there this morning not to call him or try and catch him just let us know we're he is
- 2016-01-22 11:24 Baydogs
- That dog training field could possibly have some soggy old treats amongst the grass. I suspect he's searching for food. I'd also like to think he stays in the angarrack area and doesn't go further inland towards the railway track. . Has he been seen again near Lidl do you know? There's a farm track that runs from angarrack across the fields to the A30, behind the rear of Lidl to the bike field. There's also a track from angarrack lane (starts at Blacksmith's Lane, Connor)that goes down, but OVER the railway bridge to a farm, then Gwinear Churchtown up the other side.
Better day for searching today.
No sightings on the dunes early am.Last edited: 2016-01-22 11:45:09 by Baydogs - 2016-01-22 11:12 Ria
- Baydogs good work luv I was out from 6.00 till 11.00 doing the rounds and nothing , not heard any news yet but mack is going back to the dog training sit so let's hope he stays in the area in angarrack, been out again at 6.30 this morning hoping for a sighting but nothing yet
- 2016-01-22 11:01 Baydogs
- Any sightings today?
- 2016-01-21 21:51 Baydogs
- I've not long returned from another tour of the dunes in case Mack had popped back there - the second today. Kept spreading the word, and people are promising to share. Many dogwalkers were already aware of Mack's plight. Very quiet out there tonight, and a good time to hear movement in the undergrowth. A fox crossed my path tonight but no missing dogs. Came home to this excellent news- a recent sighting and a possible sleeping area, I'm assuming Angarrack way. Good luck!
Ria, you are a star for all you have done. - 2016-01-21 21:32 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Very encouraging. :)
Have owners left any scent items near to where he's bedding down? - 2016-01-21 19:48 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Mack was sighted about an hour ago by his owner. He is very frightened and ran off.
His owners have an idea where he may be sleeping, so will set up a feeding station.
I have advised them how to react when they see him, get down low/avoid eye contact/call gently & be patient.
**** PLEASE NO-ONE CALL HIM OR PUT ANY MORE FOOD OUT **** RING ANY OF THE NUMBERS LISTED - 2016-01-21 17:37 Ria
- Hi max no I've only put down a very small amount down , iv been out most of the day looking and just got back , there some posters gone up which will help but we need some posters put up at Hayle end as well think someone is having a bbq in and around the area but sorry no other news 😢
- 2016-01-21 17:04 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Try not to put too much food out for him, as he needs to stay hungry if there is any chance of him being caught. We can establish a proper food point if he is going to an area regularly.
Thanks for all you are doing Baydogs & Ria. - 2016-01-21 14:13 Ria
- Hi moogie I'm heading back to angarrack with some food to put up by the dog training field and put some hot sausage down to so hope he can smell them
- 2016-01-21 13:35 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Good work team Mack.
Just updating his page from Facebook posts as not everyone is on there.
He was spotted yesterday morning running out of Ventonleague and past the Penmare Estate and went up a drive way next to it which had 2 large granite posts - looked like a lane. The other sighting was at 8.30 this morning at the top of Steamers Hill, Angarrack, Camborne side, up near the dog training field.
Could someone please poster these areas? - 2016-01-21 11:15 Ria
- I have left phone numbers with lots of people in angarrack and on the farms as well Mack was last seen this morning in angarrack up by the chicken farm. But run off , no more sightings since this morning , the owners are out looking but no poster up as yet , so waiting for any more up dates fingers cross we need a proper sighting of Mack but it looks like angarrack and bike field is the place he returning to that all I no at the moment xLast edited: 2016-01-21 11:17:14 by Ria

- 2016-01-21 09:15 Ria
- I've not hard from Owner at all what time was he seen will head up that way have a look around
- 2016-01-21 09:12 Baydogs
- That was good of you Ria.
Anyone heard from the owner at all?
Incidentally, if there is a sighting on the towans today, any helpers coming from Hayle direction hoping to reach Gwithian by car will have to go through Connor Downs and turn down Prosper Hill as the coast road is closed by Upton Towans Block Works because of sewer works. - 2016-01-21 08:40 Ria

- 2016-01-20 21:48 Baydogs
- Max, flyers would be good to hand out to dog walkers too if possible.
Ria, did Lidl say when this incident took place in their yard? - 2016-01-20 21:36 Ria
- I can pick up any poster not a problem that's fine can do that will go back to Hayle round about, a bit later to see if he goes to Mac Donald looking for food and when it's more quiet for him x
- 2016-01-20 21:32 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- No news yet re Tolvaddon sighting. Have someone who is going to get posters done & put up on Towans car parks etc.
Have asked if there could be a collection point somewhere for posters to be left, so that anyone who doesn't have a printer can collect some. Will let you know.
Thanks Ria & Baydogs for your help :-) - 2016-01-20 21:26 Red Alert

- I've been to premiere inn and McDonald's and the petrol stations and given them numbers to phone if they see him I've been back to the field and just waited for a bit but nothing, had a drive a round to downs and still nothing been in to lidl and they said it was in the yard and was almost hit by one of there lorrys but run off, I don't have a printer but will see who's got one I can use x
- 2016-01-20 21:01 Baydogs
- Ria, that's great - he might go sniffing around there in search of food.
Max, I'd love to be postering right now but unfortunately I don't have a printer.
Any news on the Tolvaddon sighting? I don't know how familiar you are with this area, but the Red River trail leads across country from Godrevy to Bell Lake near Tehidy Woods and then (more inland)Tolvaddon. Not far, as the crow flies, for a frightened spaniel, so not an impossibility.
It is possible to reach Kehelland via farm tracks from Nanterrow. - 2016-01-20 20:46 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Have alerted Nanterrow Farm ( where one of our last ones ended up :) ) They will keep a look out for Mack & pass on the info to friends.
- 2016-01-20 20:43 Ria
- I've done them all and just going to drive around and have a look
- 2016-01-20 20:36 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Ria & Baydogs. If you could possibly help at all by getting posters out that would be great. MacDonalds & Premier Inn would be good places.
Anyone else in area to help with postering please?
- 2016-01-20 20:16 Ria
- Yes I'm in Connor so on way right naw no worries x
- 2016-01-20 20:14 Baydogs
- If you are close by that would be brilliant x
- 2016-01-20 20:10 Ria
- Hi baydogs mack has been on the main road this morning he crossed the round about be head back to words the field yes it's were the bike go , no not sure if they are aware of mack but I can go down and just let them know if that's any good x
- 2016-01-20 20:05 Baydogs
- Hi Ria. Yes, I know the field you mean - it's used for scrambling sometimes. Unfortunately situated between two busy roads. I wonder what is attracting him there? The smell of warm food from the garage on Carwin Rise perhaps? Are the businesses in the area (Premier Inn etc) aware of Mack's situation do you know?
- 2016-01-20 19:54 Ria
- If any help needed to night I'm here on stand by , I have message the owner but not had anything back from him x
- 2016-01-20 19:52 Ria

- There has been a sighting ( said Black Labrador) Tolvaddon near garages? Spoke to Adam ( who was searching in the Towans ) & they were sending someone up there to look.
Have also sent message to say about getting posters up. - 2016-01-20 19:03 Baydogs
- Thanks Moogie. I contacted the owner directly by text but haven't as yet had a reply. Part of those dunes has a bad reception.Have been spreading the word with other walkers - as no doubt Ria has. Am happy to distribute posters/flyers if someone can let me have some (no printer).
Ria, well done re your efforts. Which field do you mean by the "bike field"?Last edited: 2016-01-20 20:11:00 by Baydogs - 2016-01-20 18:52 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Thank you Ria, great advice. The area he's been seen in need to be flooded with posters. So important. It may be an idea to have a bbq at dawn tomorrow with smelly garlic sausages or sardines where he was last seen. Hopefully he will settle down in this area.
Thank you Baydogs for offer of help I have text owner with your offer but it would probably be better if you contact them directly. The area needs to be flooded with posters (printed off from here and put into good quality a4 plastic wallets- upside down). Walkers etc need flyers. Talk to everyone you meet and hand them a small flyer with poster/contact number. Farms and outbuildings need to be checked.
I'm afraid I'm flat out with work at the minute to give any practical help. Hoping he's found very soon. - 2016-01-20 18:36 Ria
- Been out all day and didn't see mack at all there are no posters up at all . I have told mack owner that he needs to get posters up ASSP but none have been put up , I have put food down were they say mack has been see I have been in the bike field and all around but nothing , so there is hot sausage put down and treats have told owne also to put something that has his and there's smells on it down but don't think they have . I will go back at first light when is more quite and sit in field to see if there's any thing that's all I can do , if any news to night will go back out x
- 2016-01-20 17:12 Baydogs
- Live near the dunes and visit the towans regularly with my own dogs. Will keep a watch out for him and help in any way I can.
Can I ask which car parking area does the owner use? Gwithian Gate Doggie Walkers two smaller parking areas or The main car park on the cliffs at Gwithian or Upton Towans by the chimney? It is possible that Mack will keep going back to the car park he's used to.
If the owner needs some help with this local area I know it like the back of my hand-even in the dark.
Do hope Mack is found soon.Last edited: 2016-01-20 18:22:08 by Baydogs - 2016-01-20 17:07 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall

- He doesn't live too far away, but hasn't walked to the Towans from home before. I am told he may not know how to find his way back.
There were unconfirmed reports of a dog sighted on A30 at one stage yesterday. Have said it may be worth trying to check verges etc, when it is quiet ( just in case ) - 2016-01-19 20:51 Red Alert
