Unfortunately he is a rescue from Spain and has only been here in his new home since last Thursday, they have another dog and have been out with him but no luck :-(

Is there a local dog he knows well? The last lost dog I was involved with a few months ago was also rather shy and scared of people. After a few days he came trotting out the woods to say hello to a dog he knew. Worth a try x

He has crossed a busy dual carriageway from where he was overnight so at the moment don't know where he is to leave food.

If he's staying in the area can you leave food out for him an let him settle a bit.

No one is chasing as far as I am aware, there are people out walking the streets hoping for sightings and they know to call owners and just keep him in sight and not chase. Unfortunately despite being out looking for the last 2.5 hrs there have been no more sightings, so presume he may have gone back to ground and is resting somewhere.

Please can any helpers calm down and not chase, advice was not heeded and Spud is now back in flight mode. Spud is afraid of men so any men trying to grab him just will not work. Patience is again the key here.

He has been spotted in the crematorium and owners are there now and have seen him but he keeps running away.

Spud belongs to a friend of mine and will be suffering in the cold as has only just arrived from Spain. Spud has got his equafleece on as per the photo above. He is very frightened of men and that is why he bolted in the first place. Lots of fellow Canicross friends from owners club are out looking.
Yes owners phone died but she has got another mobile with her I will check that is still working and then get admin to update this page.

Thank you Jayne I have her number but when I last saw her in Bricket Wood her phone had died, I have left her a message too, it's just a shame we all may have been searching the wrong area :-(
