Kyzar - I've just seen your edit - I've no idea what happened on this run - my point is that many dogs go missing from their owners every day - stuff happens. I transport as well so probably on the same volunteer groups as you are - I just don't feel the need to question others when things go wrong -

Thank goodness! So very happy to hear that Libby is okay, as she looked so sorry for herself after she had been caught and was on her way to the vets. I expect she will be feeling some pain tomorrow but may not show it, as Rotties are so stoic. Hoping that this little sweetheart finds herself a kind and caring home. Rottie Friends I have just given relevant numbers to Ray Dedicoat, experienced catcher of dogs on the run. He is often called to help police catch dogs around motorways. Expect a call from him.

Emmas number is wrong on last message it is 07891194828

Please note: Stuart Andrew Mollett, Chris Poole and Emma Vassalli-Lewis are coordinating this morning’s search for Libby Rott and whilst we are grateful for anyone willing to assist it is not helpful for people to go off doing their own thing. Libby is very nervous and Stuart and Emma know the location that she was last seen in and appeared to return to by the tracks found and Police dog interest. Please call 07981194828 so you can discuss the plan and be allocated to an area if going to help. Thank you. Please save your judgements for another day this was an accident that no one wanted to happen with experienced transporters.
Bo
A lot of transporters have gone to search this evening - the quarry site managers contact details have been found, police aware. She had been very very car sick and the transporters had stopped to clean her up and her crate up and give her some fresh air - she apparently quickly chewed through her lead and ran. Every transporters worst nightmare - Last edited: 2016-01-25 21:34:40 by Bo

I have contacted the search party and will be assisting tomorrow as it has now been called off, however I am led to believe that there are some other volunteers searching anyway. I'm sorry I agree with Bo, there are hundreds lost every day, volunteers try and save dogs from the pounds in some cases, they're not all prepped up with crates etc. Just people trying to do the right thing :-(
Bo
Why are so many dogs lost every day Kyzar - don't their owners look after them correctly? Or are we just having a go at volunteers who spend hours of their own time helping these dogs move thousands of miles up and down the country. As a fellow transporter I'd suggest waiting to hear what happened rather than critise would be fair? Unless of course you have never made a mistake in your life?
kyzar
Why are so many dogs lost on transport runs? do they not secure these dogs in any way ...hope she is ok and found soon .

Bo this was a genuine question and not having a go at any volunteers as you put it, i myself am a volunteer transporting poundies and rescue dogs up and down in my own time and at my own cost.
