Thanks everyone. He is a lovely lad and the reason we got into the breed. Don't know what's gotten into him this last few months as this is the 2nd time he's done this. I think he goes off after pheasents/deer and then gets a bit lost. He's always gone for little 5-10min wanders after deer and things when out near woods but nothing like this. Yesterday was horrendous and I feel for everyone on here who has been hunting for more than a few hours. We'll never letting him off again. The last time he sneaked off when I wasn't looking but this time he blatantly trotted off ignoring my recall which isn't like him. Can't believe he's not even a bit sore after yesterday as he has arthritis. Good job he's booked with the physio tomorrow!! Thanks again everyone. Tx

Glad he returned, must be very worrying when that happens. What a handsome lad, perhaps someone has walked a bitch on heat in the area, somebody did that over our local park !

Found him! Or rather he found me. Appeared back at car 2.5hrs later looking none the worse for his jaunt. Hope he enjoyed it because that's the last time he's off lead on a walk. Thanks everyone. Tx
