- Thank you Mollythecollie, your help and encouragement is much appreciated.
Thanks janiejewel1649 same here, we are beginning to expect the worst, but still hoping for the best.
It is tough for Tessa's family at the moment and we will be organising a search soon to really thoroughly go over the area were she went missing. Details to follow. - 2016-02-05 21:20 Mollythecollie
- Am still walking the area, almost daily, still aware she could be anywhere - I know potentially its an enormous sight for searching but it is well used and everybody I speak to is on the look out. Its still in the back of my mind she could have been picked up by someone... Need to keep checking rescue centres and local lost pages just in case..

Bubbles, thank you so much for all your help and supporting Tessa's owner. I completely agree and endorse your comment below. Praying that we get the message everyone is hoping for. - 2016-02-03 08:11 BUBBLES
- I have not heard from the owner in a while, she said she would email me if any news. I do not like to keep bothering them as I know they are dreadfully upset. Owner does look on this site.
The owners will be very grateful if anyone walking in the area could remember that Tessa is still there somewhere and they will never stop looking.Last edited: 2016-02-03 08:14:25 by BUBBLES - 2016-02-03 07:34 ClaireC
- Feel sure this golden oldie will not be far away from where lost. Please look into and under hedges and anywhere she could curl up into. If there is a stretch of water nearby this would also need to be searched. I am too far away to help physically but so hope to read of news. Worrying for an oldie to go missing.xx

- email received from owner to each and all of you.
Thank you so much for all your help with our search for Tessa. I've just seen her picture and words on the front cover of the Shepton Mallet Journal in her full glory, it was very kind of you to take the time. We have searched high and low, I think I have literally run about fifteen miles square every day this week. A candle burns tonight for her on the table alongside a stone which we found near the place she disappeared, marking her moment of loss
I will keep you in touch of any developments. People have been looking while out for a walk on the quantocks moving either north, west, east of Crowcombe park car park, the great wood perimeter and dead woman's ditch woodland area is another possibility. - 2016-01-29 15:22 BUBBLES
- mollythecollie, owner not sure if she went right or left at the paths you mentioned. Interesting comment re the heather, I expect owner will be searching over the weekend. Phone 1 is the owners home number if you wish to arrange to meet her there, she is very receptive to any help or advice, probably not there till after 4.00. Sheldonwigley I will have a look at the dog you mentioned.
- 2016-01-29 13:44 Mollythecollie
- I went up there again this morning but the weather was horrendous and really not good for properly searching, it seems to be better out this afternoon so hopefully more favourable conditions up there for looking.. I am fairly familiar with the area already but wondered if the owner could give any indication as to which part of the hill Tessa may have gone (assuming she followed owner when she went for run with other dog?) If you stand in car park with back to the road - left or right paths? I did a bit of off path with my dogs this morning and its worth mentioning they were very reluctant to walk through the thick heather patches (scratchy and sharp), so I assume Tessa would have been reluctant to go off path? Am available most of weekend if owner needs help... Will continue our walks in that spot in the meant time..

- Hi, I am in the area and walked that area with my dogs this morning. I saw owners car (as has poster on) but couldn't find owner so didn't know exact area to look... The hunt were meeting in same car park and they were aware that Tessa is missing, elderly and her description... I also spoke to other dog walkers and some hill walkers and cyclists, most were also aware of her being missing. Word is definitely out and people are definitely on the look out. I would like to help more in the search if I can...

- janieJewel1649 my dog is 16 nearly blind and deaf and lots of other problems the thought of her going missing..... The older the dog the more sympathy I have with owners. Owner is fully aware her dog may have passed but she needs to find her and take her home where she belongs. Owner searching under bushes in brambles anywhere a dog could try to find shelter or hide. I will tell her about the posters and fry up later this evening when she gets back from searching. She has not been picked up by the dog warden and is not in kennels.
- 2016-01-27 14:40 Owl
- It's worth trying a fryup of smelly food e.g. bacon in the car park area. An elderly blind deaf dog will still have a good sense of smell. My old dog's sense of smell became even more acute after she lost sight and hearing.
- 2016-01-27 13:15 Unknown

- 2016-01-27 10:38 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Try and get lots of posters up around the area as soon as possible covering all entrances/other car parks etc. There should be a steady stream of walkers up there and the dog walking fraternity are always happy to help out. Any riding stables up there would also be worth contacting. Try and go off the beaten paths- if she is close to a path someone will see her soon enough. Spread the word in the village too. Good luck

- Owner has 2 dogs, took Tessa and other dog for a short walk in the Quantocks hills, took Tessa back to the car park area and called to her husband to let Tessa back in the car, the owner then went running with the other dog. When she came back her husband had not heard her and Tessa was nowhere to be found. Owner has scented the area with urine and old clothes, she is spending all her time searching Crowcombe park area where Tessa was last seen, she feels that Tessa may have passed over but will continue to search until she is found. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
