From Stolen Maddie Brandy and Harley Facebook page - By Emily Miles - Scott David Manson has asked me to let everybody in this group know that after 3 long years he has finally been reunited with Harley (the puppy)

Scott collected her this morning from London and other than being rather fat she is a very happy little girl and still loves a tennis ball! Thank goodness for microchips!!!!!
Now to find Maddie xxx

A liver and White Spaniel has been found in Ireland but it's worth a check. You need to look on Facebook and the site is called Carlow/Kilkenny Dog Shelter. The Head of the dog has the same markings but the photo of the dog on the irish site only shows the right hand side of the body. Fingers crossed

The man accused of stealing three dogs from a Chalford home failed to appear before magistrates for trial today.
Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court was told that Martin McDonagh, 43, of Bradley Road, Patchway, Bristol is undergoing medical assessments over his mental fitness to stand trial.
He has already pleaded not guilty to one charge of theft and was due to stand trial today.
The charge relates to the alleged theft of Cheltenham Racecourse mobile farrier Scott Manson’s English springer spaniels Maddie, Brandy and Harley in January this year.
Brandy was recovered in ‪#‎Bristol‬ earlier this year.
McDonagh did not appear in court today. Magistrates agreed to wait for a psychiatric report to be drawn up and the case was adjourned until September 29th.

It would be helpful if there could be a police update. Surely the ANPR system must have been activated by the cars number plates both before the incident and afterwards which would sharpen the area that we all need to be looking in. Why can't the police tell us which area this is? The great doglost membership want to help but we need guidance. A safe recovery of these three Springers would also give the police a lot of kudos.

Reynard, unfortunately I think that the sort of person who steals dogs will simply move onto other breeds at various times of year. That is why it is so important that these people are caught and justice is done. It appears to be a rapidly growing crime and those involved have no interest in the heartbreak of the owners or animal welfare.

I don't expect they work alone either; they will have contacts and keep records of some kind. By catching one, others may be revealed --- and maybe (hopefully) the whereabouts of other dogs, other breeds, that still have yet to be found can be reunited with their owners.
